Where would you get your MOT done?

For those with a porker, do you get your MOT done at any place or take it to somewhere does deals with these cars?

I take mine to my trusted independent garage that I've used since I had my 350Z, in fact we're going on Friday.

Used the place run by a mate near where I used to work, but honestly that was cos it was handy rather than anything else. An MOT is an MOT, go wherever is easiest.

Fair enough, just wasn't too sure if it's better to take it somewhere who deals with them. I remember that the 350z needed the cats to be up to temperature or it'll fail the emissions check, so wasn't sure if maybe Porsche cars had something similar that meant it'd be better to take to a specialist.

Don't overthink it, if you trust a place with your shed, they can do your sports car. So many under trays on it anyway, they can't see anything down there

If you have local independent Porsche specialist chuck it to them as they will know the little work arounds and fix stuff if needed, if not just take it to whoever you take your other cars

Just seen this, I use a local garage which the local supercar indi used to use. My porsche has been MOT`d there since 2014. There shouldnt be any issues with emissions unless its modified. On mine, it does struggle with the emissions as since the remap & race clutch the car is impossible to idle at 3000rpm. So they tend to use a rpm which they can keep it at for long enough to do the emissions and thats fine.

You could use Parr in Crawley, or there's another Porsche indie in Horley, whose name escapes me. If you need it I can get it for you.

I already rang Parr in Crawley and they outsource their MOTs. Booked for 10.35 this morning with a normal independent that I've used in the past. Not sure if they're used to sports cars though so hope they drive her carefully. I'll be waiting whilst she's being checked over.

Another option for Porker servicing should you need them. On the Balcombe Road just past Chequers Roundabout in Horley, which you're probably familiar with.
