Side projects

Anyone have any small side projects? I'm always buying/fixing small motor'd things from mini bikes to mountfield lawnmowers!

 

Here's yesterdays purchase:

 

£7 from local bootsale:

 

 

Plans are to complete it as its missing the following:

 

Plastics

Fuel tank

Pipes

Rear Shock

 

Half purchased already, will take pics along the way, but plan on stripping it, cleaning it up, spraying the frame, clean out the carb, new K&N style filter Have it all done by next Sunday at the bootsale and sell it for £75 lol. whilst spending minimum on it! So far spent in total £21. with about £15 more to go.

 

Anyone else do similar?

Interesting. I buy and sell cars from auctions but nothing like this. Doesn't it need a seat too ?

my side project is buying running bmws, breaking them in some way then selling them on for half what I paid for them, does that count? Have got pretty good at it recently, I can halve the value of an £800 beemer in about 6 months.

My little side project is currently building a new Frankenstein 2.4lt engine for my other halfs type r..... It started off as just a swap but has grown a bit. Never done anything like this myself before and allways wanted to, a lot of the time I think I've bitten off more than I can chew and I've kinda convinced myself that it's going to catestrophically fail the instant I try to start it but I'm enjoying the learning and shopping.....

Electric scooter adult one. Paid a tenner for it broken spent £20 on new batteries super fun to ride to the garage lol

 

Oh and rubbed it all down sprayed it etc. Used my tool box rubber mats for new standing rubbers lol

Didnt update this for a while, was waiting for parts lol.

 

Anyway heres how it looks now after a frame spray and new plastics.

 

 

Also went to the bootsale yesterday, picked up another for a grand sum of £6... in a bit of a state though lol.

 

 

I do have more plastics for the other but not bolted them on yet:
