coldel Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 ...as in storm Katie for causing havoc, glad I parked outside my house last night, my neighbours car is not faring so well. Quote
Jetpilot Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Yeah it was pretty viscious down on the south coast, the harbour has a live weather station, it recorded gusts of 60 knots and 50 knot constant. I bet there is some destruction out and about. Quote
coldel Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Gatwick is in a bit of trouble, landings aborting then heading off to northern parts of England to land. Maybe I missed it, but not much in the way of weather warnings about this yesterday? Quote
Jetpilot Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) I think it was worse than they expected. I did see weather warnings, but forecast was for 40mph. Edited March 28, 2016 by Jetpilot Quote
ZEUS Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 There were warning about it on the country file weather last night but that's the only time I saw anything about it. Quote
glrnet Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Just been next door helping out my elderly neighbours who had 5 fence panels blown down last night. Quote
jimboy2 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Our compost bin has disappeared. Gone. How does one just fly away! Quote
Ebized Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Bloody ridiculous building a single skin brickwork wall that high in a relatively exposed position, even if it included piers. 3 Quote

HaydnH Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I put up a new fence panel on Friday just before the storm... luckily it stayed in place so my handy work is obviously better than I expected. Quote
FiddyZed Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Usually they bang on about storms for ages in the paper and on the news, when it comes around it's usually only a bin that's blown over. But with Katie, there wasn't too much warning (or maybe there was, and I just missed it?) but it was pretty bad down South. A mate of mine at work was flying back from Holiday yesterday - the plane attempted to land at Heathrow but due to the crosswinds had to be diverted to Manchester and then had to get National Express back down to London! Ekona Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 We had some extra leaves on the floor. Chaos, I tell you! 1 Quote
-Bradders- Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Had a chair fall over in my garden! Absolute madness! Next doors BBQ fell over too lol 1 Quote
Ekona Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 A chair! My god, was anyone hurt? Much damage? Have you put in a claim for compensation? Stay strong my friend, always here for you. I know your pain, as I checked my garden last night and found that a small disused plant pot had been sadly knocked over as well Quote
-Bradders- Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 I think a few leaves might have fell out the gutter too! Quote
