Commander
I'm away with work and have a flat front right. The rears are ready to be changed too so want all 4 doing. None of the tyre places I've called can get hold of MPSS in time (ie, today / tomorrow) What's the next best tyre? :-/
Commander
Pilot Sport 4 any good?
brillomaster
they're the replacement for MPSS, so should be good! Also consider the new GY Eagle 3 and Conti Sport Contact 6.
Commander
Considering that people having flat tyres is still a problem the world faces, it's proving surprisingly difficult to get some same day / next day! :-(
The Trouser
Why not Bridgestones all round? All I've ever used on my 12yo Zed Edited March 21, 2016 by The Trouser
GrahameJ
I think Conti Sport Contact 6 are only available in 19 inch rim sizes as yet. I'm running Conti Sport Contact 5 in the summer months and they seem ok to me. No issues with the slip light coming on.
spunkehmunkey
Agreed, never lacked grip with bridgestones myself either!
Ekona
I hope you Bridgestone guys mean the 050A, not the awful 040s... Try the PS4 mate, they're the latest and greatest although not replacing the MPSS, be interested to see what you think of them
HaydnH
they're the replacement for MPSS, so should be good! Also consider the new GY Eagle 3 and Conti Sport Contact 6. NOOOO, they're a replacement for the MPS3 and sit below the MPSS in the product line up, an MPSS replacement will be out later. Commander, Yokohama AD08Rs are my tyre of choice, better than the MPSS in the dry, a bit low grip in winter+wet although still predictable but I'm a summer driver anyway. Flex
I hope you Bridgestone guys mean the 050A, not the awful 040s... I've always found the 50s sh1te too, certainly for the cost of the buggers. Crap on the Zed and crap on the VW. The black circles premium brand on the VW are fairing just as well as the bridgestones if not slightly better. Terence Bower
Having just bought a set of four new alloys that came fitted with Yokohama Advans,I was sceptical being a Dunlop fan. However I have to admit to bing very pleasantly surprise by grip, lack of squeal and braking distances are a bit shorter.Longevity?we'll have to wait and see. Ebized
Why not Bridgestones all round? All I've ever used on my 12yo Zed That is rather like saying the telegraph is still the best means of communication......honestly the MPSS are night and day compared to the 'Stones' on the Zeds. GreenLandy
Why not chuck a budget £30 one on and take it very easy for 2 days or so until you can get the MPSS sorted?
RobPhoboS
Or, depending where you are I used the dealer finder, luckily got one nearby: http://www.michelin.co.uk/tyres/michelin-pilot-super-sport So try that as well.
nowhereboy
I really should try the MPSS sometime and see what all the fuss is about. My goodyear eagle F1's seem absolutely fine to me

Guess my driving stye is not extreme enough to notice the difference - I'm mainly a communter/sunday driver in the Zed
