Just scratched/tore leather on my steering wheel

Just caught the bottom edge of my steering wheel with a sharp key on my keyring  (offending key is no longer privileged to be on car key bunch!). Each line is maybe 0.5mm raised so you can feel it and its exceptionally disheartening. Especially as its the first bit of damage i have caused to my zed since buying it. :bang:

Scratch is maybe 6-8 inches long and wondering what i can do to repair it. I've got some leather cleaner and some cotton cloths, so assuming this wont help. Any products or method suggestion would be appreciated.

edit: the bit at the bottom is worse, will add another photo when (if) it stops raining.

I just received mine back from Jack yesterday, 13 day turnaround between me posting mine off and receiving it back from him. Cant argue at that!

Now I need to figure out how to remove all the plastic cowling as I need to swap it over with mine that's coming off the car. Anyone got a guide?

I have been looking at getting it re-trimmed but not until the summer when i've put a bit aside and I can park the car up and leave it for a few weeks (use it as a daily during the winter as cycling in the rain isn't fun...)

So any ideas on how to smooth it out? Keep catching my hand on it and its driving me nuts.

You don't have to send your steering wheel to him if you use yours as a daily mate. He'll take a £50 deposit from you in addition to re-doing the wheel, send you the new one and then you just swap it over at home and send him your old one and he'll refund you the £50. That way you still get to use your car as normal

Basically this but I think you'll remove some pigment.

Do the above then recolour with pigment and seal it

Buffalo leather in Preston for the products.
