  1. Cant get stuck.... if you don't go out or if you don't own a zed I'd rather own a Zed and get stuck...
  2. My other half had a 106 1.4d Graduate for her first car, I hated it and loved it all at the same time. Totally gutless, lots of 'character' - it was comedy throwing it from one lane to the other, the suspension rolled so much. But once you were over 20mph (took about 5 minutes) it was quite good fun. I'd forgotten what it was like having to take a run up to overtake! 60+mpg impressed the most. The most annoying thing was mixing with the lowest common denominator of road users because you didn't have enough power to get rid of them. That said I can't see how you could get cheaper motoring. On the other hand you could avoid selling your soul and buy a SAAB 900 Turbo off the 'Bay for 500 notes like I did Happy shedding
  3. I've used Dixon Motorsprort (DMS) in Erith, they're good....
  4. I considered old shape XKR's too, it was the shape that put me off, still too pipe and slippers for me - the new one on the other hand, I could almost go for.....in a few years. This one would do nicely http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/25354 ... ition.html And I know Ekona, a 911 GT3 would be preferable obviously

That's better. Someone has too much time on their hands
  6. If economy is an issue but you still want a decent drive, I'd recommend a MKIV Golf GT TDi 150. I had one before the Zed and it was a cracking car (for a diseasel). Loads of poke (230 odd torks iirc) as standard and a stage 1 chip would take it to 190bhp - I always felt it had no right to be as quick as it was. Evo rated it too and the Anniversary models are quite smart. I'd say any of the VAG cars with this engine would fit the bill

"2003 range rove(sic) hse tdt6 one off show car never to be repeated..." Promises, promises The best bit is that it's advertised in the 'Boring' section on Pistonheads
  8. I'm moving soon too - Ordered with my spam email address Thanks!
  9. My Zed failed it's MOT on saturday for a leaking rear O/S shock. If anyone has one (or two) OEM for sale please let me know. Thanks
  10. I took the car in for an MOT on saturday and it failed on a leaky offside shock absorber What make are the OEM shocks and what would the best (and most cost effective) OEM alternative be? I'm not looking to upgrade particularly. The other option is to go S/H I guess. I assume that it's OK (but not ideal!) to replace just one side if the other's OK? The garage also showed me some front suspension bushes (both sides) which are also on their way out. I think they are the ones on the lower control arms but i need to double check that. If so, can the bushes be fitted separately?
  11. Awesome guys, thanks for the top advice If we do it we'll hand it over to letting agents, let them take mosty of the hassle. We're not fussed about making anything off the rent, so long as we break even. The financial side should be OK hopefully - my biggest fear is problem tenants, as I have friends who've had issues with them. I'll see how the sale goes and take it from there... Thanks for the offer to look at numbers Sarnie
  12. I wonder if anyone here can offer advice... We have our house on the market at the moment and are feeling a little pressured to try to sell quickly (ie lower the price) due to the impending doom of the fabled 'double dip' which seems to be showing signs of happening already. Is it worth hanging onto the house and renting it out (on separate mortgage? Interest only?) and taking another mortgage for the new house? Can anyone advise on our options for mortgage types / interest rates / deposit percentages please? I'm aware that if we do rent our current house out it'd be a medium to long term solution. All advice gratefully received Leeroy...
  13. No way, I used to work in the building on the left as you turn into East Mill off Clifton Marine Parade - so opposite Leading Edge labels at the back
  14. There's a blade coupe (58 plate i think) that parks in the Bromley North area? Is it you?
  15. It could be worse, you could be driving a Fiat 500 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... 0-car.html
  16. The Zed's not made for ubertalls. I'm 6'7" and asked the same seat question on here before manning up and getting a Z anyway. I just about fit but the seats aren't wide, low, far back enough really. I did find the manual seat in the non-GT UK car had more room, but not much more. Once I'm driving i don't really notice it TBH, and after driving the Z I didn't want to get anything else So basically, it's aftermarket seats or manual cloth Z seats for you my friend Leeroy...
  17. I'm also interested in this, does the Car Limits tuition give any insurance benefits? I know some advanced driver training does - is it too good to be true to be able to hoon around a circuit/airfield for a day and get a decent reduction in insurance?
  18. It's user-set, not factory set No. 95% of all dyno plots will have them intersect at 5252rpm. Aren't they set to a standard RPM at the factory? I thought it was something like 6500? I haven't played with it, it is just visual isn't it? I mean it doesn't allow the car to rev any higher? I know I should search
  19. If you look closely in the 2nd pic you can see the solvents the fella's been sniffing....
  20. There's a factory set shift light that tell you when to change gear
  21. Youtube him, he rocks. Here's an earlier DC shoes showcase he did...
  22. Thanks for the advice, I like "easy to replace" I'll get in touch with Alex. I tried the reset and it does work temporarily. I reckon a bracket needs tightening, I think i've seen a guide on here somewhere....
