  1. The Zed is in Ireland at the minute - however its originally a UK reg Zed - I still have all these reg docs etc relating to the Zed so its just a matter of changing back the plates.
  2. how about a nice CF overlay? I might know of one for sale?
  3. The RSW kit certainly changes the look of the interior for the better and its a good fitting kit - however as you say a genuine CF kit if sold for less than the RSW kit (which is big bucks) should attract quite a few buyers. If I get another Zed (or end up keeping the one I have) then I'd def be on for it - dependant upon price of course - and I do think that price will be the key factor in how many kits you sell.
  4. Happy Birthday buddy. Was gonna enclose some money but then I couldn't fit it into this thread.
  5. Excellent write-up. I had a similar experience against a Cerb in a 1/4 mile last year - the Cerb sounded awesome but my SC Zed was quicker down the 1/4 mile which was a surprise to me. A 400bhp+ Zed with uprated suspension, brakes etc would probably work out as a better track car as well. A properly sorted SC Zed really is an absolutely fantastic car to drive. Any NA Zed drivers that have drove/been in my Zed have been very surprised by the difference between Zeds.
  6. I have blade side skirts and a blade JDM rear bumper if its any use.
  7. The paint/laquer was likely not cured or hardened enough in the first couple of days. I noticed the last time I had my front end sprayed (due to stone chips) that i had a similar issue within a couple of days but once the paint hardened properly there were no further marks. I guess the moral of the story is don't take your Zed out much for a few days until paint settles. Edit - BulletMagnet, that avatar is VERY distracting (any chance of a bigger image to save me straining my eyes everytime you post ).
  8. Despite countless enquiries and having 4 guys tell me they want to buy this diffuser and ask for my paypal - no one has yet to come up with the funds. Have had quite a few guys ask me to hold the diffuser for them for a day while they gather funds and then not reply to PM's. I actually feel like putting it back on my Zed at this stage. The diffuser is in good condition and priced well IMHO. As much as I appreciate this site and the many good members its difficult to believe the amount of time wasters as well. I've had a similar experience with the sale of the SC Zed as well. Do we have to finish off for sale threads with "no tyre kickers or time wasters" ?
  9. Nice result. The Invidia true-dual really is a fairly quite set-up and seems to be able to handle decats really well. Unobtrusive in the cabin yet put under load it sounds lovely and complements (doesn't override) the sound of the SC. I had an decatted RSR on my last Zed and the noise was astonishing but unbearable.
  10. Theres been a huge amount of FTO's mentioned - unusual considering its actually quite a rare car. Might start a new thread - "show us your FTO" I think you'll find the modding to be quite similar as well - my last FTO had a lot of similarities in appearance to my current Zed.
  11. Nah - it'd never be strong enough to use as a spacer. Maybe an oil catch can - mounted on the rear with a string pull to the driver to get tailgaters off your ass. Group buy anyone?
  12. I think perhaps if you own a 600bhp+ Zed and have a built engine and a good oil cooling system then yeah perhaps you'll overheat your R888's. I would think that slicks would be the best option. A trackday for me (and I'd imagine the vast majority of Zed drivers) would more likely involve 5-6 laps at a time and then bring in the Zed (on a cool down lap) to allow the heat in brakes & fluid, oil and tyres to dissipate. Easier on the Zed and on tyres. Alex when you say that the R888's would fall apart after a really aggressive track session - then what chance would a set of road tyres have? I do also think though that the recent price hikes on R888's have made them unfeasible - better to have a set of slicks and a set of good road tyres. The only issue there would be the even greater strain of forces that a set of slicks would put on a DD Zed.
  13. I've already had quite a few offers of the asking price but I just got this diffuser off the Zed today and took some closer pics of it off the car. Theres a couple of scratches that weren't noticable once fitted and a slightly overdrilled hole which had been covered with a larger washer. Still in good nick considering its proximity to the road though and you really won't notice any defects once fitted. Pics of scratches - I promised some of the guys closer pics of the diffuser before I sold in the interest of full transparancy. Now its first with the funds gets the goods.
  14. Should be possible to add support to the decats if you know someone handly with a welder - just copy the OE cats brackets. I know the OE cats are a lot heavier but you will get a lot more vibration with a non reasonated decat pipe. I went through two sets of Japspeed Y pipes in less than 10K miles on my last Zed and that was with Topspeed reasonated decats (better than non-reasonated Japspeed I would have thought) and an RSR exhaust (it was LOUD) - had to switch back to the OE Y pipe eventually (I still have the two Y pipes in my garage but I really wouldn't sell them - they were that crap). The Japspeed Y pipe may have improved since I last used it but it still looks like exactly the same design from your pics. Don't want to knock Japspeed per se - I'm using their reasonated decats at the moment on my SC Zed and they've behaved flawlessy. The combination of Topspeed decats, Japspeed Y pipe and RSR exhaust just didn't gell from a reliability standpoint - did sound well though - - even in the open (watch the sheep) - massively loud - grand for a trackday or 1/4 mile but unbearable in the long run.
  15. I've used the R888's over the past 4K to 5K miles and 2 track days and all I can say is they are a fantastic track tyre. Put a small bit of temp into them and they'll buy you a couple of seconds per lap over road tyres even in the damp/slightly wet. You do need to be a bit of a hero though to use these on an everyday basis - perhaps during the summer they'll be just fine but once heavy rain or temps of under 10degrees celsius start then you'll want to be on your guard. The biggest surprise for me is that despite two trackdays and approx 4-5K miles there still loads left on them - I would have killed a set of road tyres under the same circumstances esp during track use. They do look well too -
  16. Lovely looking Zed with a nice combo of mods. I went through two of those Y pipes with my last NA Zed when combined with Decats - they don't like vibration and tend to split at the welds. It doesn't help that theres no support on either decats or y pipe (as opposed to OE). I'd be very interested to hear how you get on with yours.
  17. Great stuff - very similar to my exhaust SC set-up. I got rid of the HFC's as well - they really were choking the exhaust - extra 20BHP too once remapped. Heres a flyby -
  18. Much better than a spacer IMHO as it would have more volume again (20% according to Kinetix) as well as a smoother wall for air flow than the OE upper plenum plus lower intake temps (its made of a very strong plastic) and its lighter by 3lbs not to mention a hell of a lot better looking so win/win IMO. Kinetix themselves will claim 14 wheel horse power increase however I personally believe that it needs to be incorporated in a series of mods like induction and exhaust and perhaps even mapping to get max gain. It does sound a hell of a lot meaner than standard though. http://www.kinetixracing.com/kinetix_35 ... lenum.aspx Kinetix offer a complete replacement hardware kit for $20 + shipping which should make this plenum quite easy to fit with the correct size spacers for the strut brace and longer 10mm hex bolts. Just noticed that Kenitix have reduced this plenum from $400 to $260 so I'm reducing my asking price to 100GBP + 20GBP shipping.
  19. I run the R888's. Best grip in the dry bar none and they'll have far more grip and last better and be more progressive and predictable on track than high performance road tyres. The R888s will still be quicker in the damp and slightly wet but once it comes to having to displace water they'll loose their advantage.
  20. Good idea but I reckon it'd get messy - how 'bout buying a ticket to own the SC Zed? Have had a lot of interest in this diffuser though - first to send the funds gets the diffuser. As I've already said - this diffuser will only get rarer and it will be easy to sell on at similar money.
  21. Following my parts for sale threads - Supercharged Zed now reduced to 13,950 though without the rear diffuser, interior CF kit and CF fluid covers. Still has everything else on including the supercharger and ancillaries as well as my favorite mod - the Kaaz diff. I reserve the right to continue to strip the Zed until sold however the remaining mods on this Zed are still worth more than the asking price of the car so it does represent fantastic value for what you are getting.
