  1. Yeah - I know that route - taken it a couple of times before - once at 0300 in the morning in a Racing Puma I used to own - but I'm gonna be tight on time as is so main roads its gotta be.
  2. I have to go via Rosslare - Fishguard and then drive down to Bournemouth. At least I get a final road trip from the Zed. I've already got that sickening feeling in my gut that I've only ever had once before from selling on a car - didn't have that with my last Zed.
  3. My SC Zed was up for sale for months. It was by far the cheapest way to get reliable FI power with extra mods like Tein suspension, Nismo roll bars, JWT clutch & lightweight flywheel, PF discs and Kaaz diff. The cost to add these to an OE Zed is just far too much. Its gone now - but my advice would be to BUY not to BUILD - let someone else take the expense.
  4. I remember when the Zed first came out that this was mentioned in several car magazine articles but from looking at it under the car you wouldn't think there was any carbon involved.
  5. Yeah - its gonna be hard. Its the best (and quickest by far) car I've ever owned. If I could have afforded to keep it under wraps in the garage then I would have had. Would like to get it back again when babies are a little older - at least it'll be VRT (Irish import tax) free next time round.
  6. What pisses me off with Nissan is that if something like a relay goes in the ECU (a 5 quid part) you have to replace the entire ECU (1K +) as they don't seem to have part numbers for the components of the ECU. Does sound like you have a leak in the throttle body - what error codes has it been throwing up?
  7. Middle and rear section is what - 6 bolts to remove/replace? You could do it yourself in 20 mins (maybe an hour if bolts rusted on). If you paid more than 50 quid you were robbed.
  8. A large Volvo estate would do the job nicely: Slightly over budget but a bit of dealing should bring it close - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2771412.htm Personally though I'd save the dosh on the purchase price and spend it on fuel instead - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2827718.htm http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2815780.htm http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2744078.htm
  9. spill the beans Not sure if its up to me to spill the beans but I have now taken a deposit on the Zed. Will be very interesting to hear someones opinion coming from a base spec NA Zed to my massively modified (yet still no less of a road car) SC Zed. When you continually add mods to improve performance you just see little jumps - I think this Zed will come as a pleasant surprise if you're used to driving an OE Zed. A mate of mine who owns a Zed brought mine out for a spin recently and since then he thinks his is broken.
  10. 06 plate with 37.5K miles for 7750GBP seems incredibly cheap. Its not that long ago when that'd have been a good price for a 03 plate Zed. That clicky axel you mention is a relatively easy and cheap fix - stunning price for this Zed. GLWTS.
  11. Both Anders and myself fully expect to get some burgers posted over to Rep of Ireland from all future BBQ/buffets in the UK. No sauce on mine please and Anders likes bacon (loads of it).
  12. On a similar theme - heres a pretty funny recent vid - two main characters played by the same guy. Plays on the themes of a typical posh guy from south Dublin versus the typical North Dublin "Head". Bloody catchy tune though.
  13. This video was made in city near where I live (Limerick) - I know a few of the peeps in the vid. Its a rather particular brand of humour based on the advantages of owning a horse over a car in Limerick city (where horses roam free around housing estates). Heres their latest vid - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzdHOG31aCA They are genius and brutal in equal measure but they are funny feicers.
  14. Bump - Zed has been sitting in my (insulated) garage for the past 6 months now and I've kinda let the sale slide a little. I'm about to put it back up for sale on Pistonheads again for 13450GBP or nearest offer. Crazy price considering the condition of this Zed and its spec but it has to go now (3 kids under 3yrs and need to get something with a back seat). As mentioned above this is a UK reg GT spec SC Zed which I can deliver anywhere in the UK - this Zed has been on the UK Zed forums since new - all three owners were forum members who meticulously minded this 38K mile SC Zed. I'll put up the PH link in a bit.
  15. Nice ATW bhp figure even if the torque looks a little low (for a Vortech SC). Would be interested to hear how it drives on the road now - a nicely sorted Vortech Zed is a massively fun and reliable car to drive - its a pity Nissan never brought out that SC model they developed.
  16. Sorry to see this Bobby - I can't understand how that diffuser could come off your Zed if bolted on correctly - I have a few track days done on my Zed using this diffuser and never had an issue. FWIW - the damage seems to be on the backend of the diffuser so it won't be visible from the back of the Zed - some better pics would help. I would imagine someone like Daryl (member on here) would be interested in making up some copies from this diffuser seeing as its now priced so low.
  17. 40GBP + 10GBP shipping for slam panel in first pic.
  18. Can't believe these haven't sold yet. Price drop to 100GBP and 20GBP shipping for both CF battery and fluid covers, slam panel and (slightly hacked) CF engine cover.
  19. Chasing NA power on a Zed is an expensive waste of time IMHO when you have such good options with SC and turbo kits available for the Zed. Sure a 330BHP NA Zed will be nice to drive but for the money you'd have a 420BHP SC Zed with a much larger increase in torque to boot. Buy Ians's HKS SC kit and save yourself the money chasing NA power.
  20. Is there really any advantage to changing the LSD oil in the OE viscouis diff though? The biggest issue on a Zed thats a few years old is gonna be the likelyhood that the silicon fluid in the diff has already sheared several times and the OE diff is acting like an open diff. So not really sure of the benefit of changing the oil in the pumpkin. If theres someone out there that could enlighten me I'd be most greatfull.
  21. viewtopic.php?f=32&t=47705 I have a (slightly modified/cut to fit my SC) CF engine cover. I can split from my for sale thread and let it go for 25GBP + 10GBP shipping.
  22. +1 - I've had the LMGT's and while they are very nice rims they have a weak ass offset and are massively overrated on here IMHO. 1500GBP gets you some very nice 2nd hand forged rims. I bought a set of forged 19 inch Rays (not LMGTs) off ebay in a Zed fitment for less than 1000GBP a couple of months back.
  23. Can't believe these haven't been sold. People pay massive money for LMGT's when for a fraction of the price you could have a much better handling Zed with a better stance. It really does amaze me what sells well as "mods" for Zeds when proper mods like coilovers, uprated brakes, diffs and FI are by far the best mods you can make to your Zed yet are difficult to sell on at half the price.
