  1. It will be sitting on the top of the head beside the cam shafts and valve springs and should not go down any further although there is a large gap at the very front beside the cam sprockets and chains so be very careful. Like the guys have suggested a strong telescopic magnet may lift it out, failing that, cam cover off I am afraid. I can talk you through this if you have any isues. Alex.
  2. 30 mm is quite a drop so you will require the top wishbone kit to get the camber back into line on the front You should get away with the toe and camber bolt kits on the rear.
  3. Get insurance in place and go for it big style. You will regret it for ever if you don't.
  4. I can help you with this Jeffr. You have PM.
  5. Yes, you do require that metal plate refitted. It is there for a reason.
  6. Great prices for a selection of great products
  7. Some photos for those that are interested http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnsidc/s ... 862511933/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnsidc/s ... 986683264/
  8. Like I said Dave, if you find removing the 4 hub retaining bolts troublesome then you will have to remove the hub carrier.
  9. Yeah Derek conditions were great untill 5 pm and then the heavens opened. I was knackered by then, 247 laps, 240 litres of V Power, a set of tyres and brake pads. Was starting to get severe cramps in my hands and the hamstrings were tightening up and my neck and shoulders were aching. Besides the issue with that one boost pipe (now fixed) the car performed absolutely brilliantly. Like you say I was a bit surprised at the lack of interest from the local younger forum members but those that did make it including Steve and Claire had a real hoot. Oh and I think that Vik and her mate had some serious fun. Back out again on Monday night 6pm - 8pm ......... all welcome.
  10. The front wheel bearings are easy to replace if you are handy with the tools. Wheel off. Calliper off. Leave hydraulics connected. Disc off. Remove 4 bolts from inside hub carrier. Remove hub. Swop out bearings. If you find removing the 4 bolts troublesome then simply remove the complete hub carrier and do it on the bench. I have a few preowned front hubs available complete with bearings. £85.00 each. Alex.
  11. If you are referring to the rear exit pipe hanging lower than other then this is an easy fix by bending the bracket that the rear rubber hanger fits to. I haven't a clue what metal plate you are referring to. Is it a Roadster or Coupe?
  12. Cheers for making us all look stupid Alex. I take back the good things I said about you now Every day is a school day matey. I will have to start charging you for your education.
  13. I must be having a blond moment guys. What is the issue here as the Zed does have shoes on the back for the handbrake.
  14. Absolutely shocking, you will have to move home bet you won't sleep tonight
  15. That's a pity Stew as it will be a really good day, hope the weather holds.
  16. You will soon forget your hangover when you are flying round Knockhill
  17. A full track day at KRC on Saturday 8th August The morning session is organised by SIDC and will run from 9am-1pm and will be open pit lane. There is a great mix of cars for this one and KRC are providing two race instructors at no additional charge for anyone who wants to polish up on there track driving technics. The afternoon session is with Autoeccosse and again there will be a great mix of cars. This one will run from 2pm-6pm and it also will be open pit lane. There is also to be hospitality laid on for this one so no one should go hungry. I am planning to be there for the whole day, so if any one fancies coming over then please do so. There is no entrance fee and the pitwall will be fully open. Helmets can be borrowed for the day if you fancy a few pax laps or you can just spectate if you wish. If you have not attended before then please do not be shy and come over and introduce yourself as we really are a very friendly bunch. Alex.
  18. Chris, most BBK have the holes for the handbrake adjustment, but no big deal if it does not. All you do is let off the handbrake cable adjustment inside the car and flick up the adjuster at the hub with the drum off until the drum is a "snug" fit. Finally adjust the handbrake from the cable inside the car. Alex.
  19. Hi and to the forum, great to have yet another Scot on board.
  20. I always ignore the groves, dimples etc and fit discs with the vanes pointing back. In certain instances where the vanes are straight, then I would refer to the angle of the groves or dimples.
  21. Exactly my sentiments indeed. The Fidanza fitting instructions clearly state that if interference issues are experienced at the crankshaft "boss" then this can easily be corrected by removing excess material from the fly with a 3 cornered scraper or by heating the fly on an electric "hotplate". I measured up 3 different crankshafts this afternoon and all would have accepted the Fidanza fly without any fitment issues. Unfortunately, Chris's crank is .45mm larger than the norm. and the garage was unwilling to follow the Fidanza fitting instructions. I have had to lightly scrape many a Fidanza fly to overcome interference issues but I have never had to heat one up. Chris, I hope that you get reunited with your Zed very soon and it was a pleasure chatting with you today. Alex.
