  1. Was watching it live on SS4 last night, absolutely shocking stuff. Just watching the 5 lap parade tribute now on YT, incredibly emotional to see and whilst I didn't think they should've done it at first, now I can see that I was completely wrong. RIP Dan.
  2. I kinda assumed that the OP would be using winter tyres on the front as well. No-one would be daft enough to mix winter and summer tyres.
  3. 87? I had no idea you were so old Dave Must admit I was unaware of quite how good Senna was until I really got into F1 about 5 years ago, and much less how important he was to Brazil until I watched this film.
  4. I miss my Zed Cheers for the comment Neil, much appreciated fella I won't wax lyrical over yours again as I've already said in the past it's my favourite Zed ever right now and we don't want to start rumours
  5. This is why most dyno places make you sign a disclaimer these days sadly. That's not speaking for Mark at all, I have no idea if Abbey do this or not, but if it were my company and it was just a dyno run done before I'd touched the car, I'd be making people sign disclaimers too.
  6. Saw it in the cinema, not a dry eye in the house. I want the BD to see the extra bits, supposed to add a lot to the documentary.
  7. A Zed modified with a bit of restraint can look beautiful. Some that are covered in plastic tat look appalling, but as long as the owner is happy then that's all that really matters. I've found that as I've got older I've gone from modifying cars to make them look pretty to modifying them to make them drive better. I guess a lot of people do the same when you look across not only this board, but others too. Personally I love the clean lines of the Zed coupe without bits on, whereas the ragtop can do with a bit of help in places.
  8. Would they not send the TC in to a spaz?...... especially being winter when your more likely to have slippage TCS doesn't really care as long as you drive to your own and your cars limits. If you push past that then you're not driving correctly, so for the purposes of using winter tyres for more grip in the snow then you really shouldn't be pushing any way. For once I wasn't even being sarcastic! Truth be told though if people want to start mucking around with the only things keeping them on the road, and especially in the winter, then they probably will anyway. Personally I don't feel it's worth saving £50 and risking the car, but to others they're happy with that risk. Each to their own, and I genuinely mean that. I've said in the past njthat I'll only give general advice on tyres now anyway, after the abuse I've had in the past. So, in all seriousness, they probably will be okay as long as you don't drive like a tit.
  9. No weather, no night/day, and most importantly no Porsche! I'm sadly going to have to skip this version, tbh I still haven't completed 3 yet any way. Maybe they're saving all the really good stuff up for FM6 on the Xbox Next? One can hope, at least. Regardless, FM still p*sses on GT from a great height when it comes to the feel of the actual cars, which is the important bit.
  10. Talking to the other chaps in the queue, it looked like everyone wanted a white one. I went for a black 32GB in the end myself.
  11. Siri is rubbish. You know the really cool search feature where you can ask it if there's any good restaurants/Apple stores/sex parlours nearby? Only works in the US. Thanks for telling us that, Apple. Sending texts via Siri is also very hit and miss, although I did confuse it by asking it to wipe my bottom for me
  12. Locked, please try and keep all the Apple-goodness in one place please folks Clicky clicky
  13. Got it Just setting it up now. Tell you what though, I will definitely do another launch again, it was brilliant! I was number 7 in the queue after getting there at approx 6:40am for an 8am open, and I got chatting with another 4 or 5 chaps and we just had a right laugh over the whole thing, especially when the lady who was at the front of the queue (and had been since 5am) was clearly having difficulties getting her new phone. They only let 3 people in at once so while we were standing outside we could see but not hear what was going on, and this woman was getting more and more irate over the whole thing. 30 mins later they finally gave up and she left empty-handed, not looking particularly pleased Definitely worth doing, it's a right geek-fest but all the more fun for it. Got free breakfast muffins and OJ too, which was nice.
  14. All 97/98/99RON fuel must be made to a certain British Standard, so anything you put in from anywhere will be fine. Some may be marginally 'better' than others, but it's going to be practically unnoticeable. It's almost irrelevant whether the additive is added at the refinery, the tanker, or the station, as long as it all meets the requirements of BS7800 it will be perfectly fine.
  15. I am awake at Daft O'Clock to go and buy a 4S. Yes, I shall indeed be queueing with the rabid Apple fanboys today, just because I already had the day off work for other reasons and I've never been to a product launch. Wish me luck!

    My New Car

I think it's broken, the roof appears to be up. Looks in good nick, what spec is it?
  17. Theoretically, yes. More pre-detonation will cause increased damage to the pistons, the rings and the bores, which can lead to oil passing the seals and getting burnt off in the combustion chamber, which obviously then causes massive oil consumption.
  18. Why? Read the BB, learn the flags, drive test at 8/10ths and don't spin, job's a carrot. If you track your car regularly then what other prep is there? I'm not trying to be argumentative here, I just don't think I understand what you mean by prep.
  19. Take your pick of dates from here Prep time is down to the individual, some will need none and some will never get there, so it's impossible to quantify. You will also need the Go Racing pack from the MSA though of course, which is another £59.
  20. BP97 is fine. That's what I use/d on all my performance cars.
  21. It's as secure as any other cloud service, which means anywhere between 'incredibly' and 'not at all'. If you trust cloud computing then it's great, if you don't then there's no need to use it and you can turn it off. It should be safer than most as Apple have the technical ability to make it that way, but then we all said that about Sony too. iCloud shouldn't see any more of the machine than it needs, but that doesn't mean it doesn't. Tbh if you're one of the tinfoil hat brigade then you probably won't ever feel comfortable using iCloud, but for the rest of us at the moment it sits somewhere between handy and novelty. Only time will tell if it can become essential, I guess.
  22. True, but if you're Apple you can either spend another $10M on some more server space for one day, or just accept that the early adopters (myself included!) are just going to have a little whinge for an hour or so and then start raving about how good iOS5 is, and when the dust settles 24 hours in no-one will have an issue at all. It's sound business sense, and I can totally understand their point of view.
  23. My iPhone4 bricked itself for a while, but it sorted itself out and is back up and syncing via WiFi as we speak I'm surprised that Apple's servers held on as well as they did/have, there's a hell of a lot of people trying to update their iDevices right now.
  24. They are truly hideous. Great noise, but styled by a blind work experience lad.
