^^^Yeah, that. If you want an understeery car then Steve's settings are ideal, but you don't know what his other suspension settings are like: If they're super aggressive, then it might not be as bad as it looks.

    Eibach ARB's

I ran them stiffest rear and softest front as I wanted the car to become more lively, but I adjusted my geo setup to take that into account: If I'd gone for those settings out of the box I think I'd have ended up ditchward!
  4. That's pretty exceptional service, told you they were good Can't believe you haven't set it up yet!
  5. What a complete pillock. Might as well have been carrying a toy gun and done it properly. Dressing like a ninja I get, and is very cool, but carrying a big fake sword is just asking for trouble now the law has changed.
  6. S4 won't oversteer. Ever. It's an Audi, that's what they do. Exaggeration, of course, but held in truth. As per the factory setup, an Audi will understeer significantly and you'd need to engineer that out with some aggressive geo settings. Don't get too hung up on LSDs, they're not that important if the car was designed not to have one.
  7. E60 M5. SMGII box is fine pootling, leave it in the slowest setting and it's as smooth as an auto. Crank the speed up and put it into manual and it's manic. I wouldn't even consider anything else at that price and that type of car, the V10 is a work of art.
  8. Even if that's a Cat D, that's good value. Assuming nothing epically wrong with it, then that would be a great track car base.
  9. Looks like it comes straight off the existing manifolds. That's not something I'd ever want to put on my car.
  10. I'm tempted, but I'll see what the weather is like first.
  11. Have you not seen her now? They got out while the going was good!
  12. Are you guys watching on BBC1/2/3 then? Not the live programmes on the extra HD channels? That's where I'm watching the events, and I've not seen Lineker or any of the usual lot, and it would appear to be better for it. No crap, just live sporting goodness
  13. So am I. Luckily it's the manual car I've got, so the 'right' spec if such a thing exists. I'm hoping the Boxster will be the 2.7 manual car as well, that would make for a very interesting comparison.
  14. It depends on what car I'm driving and what mood I'm in. On trackdays when in a Caterham, I've got a trusty ol' pair of Sparco race shoes (sadly now out of manufacture) that I've had for years from my first ever trackday, and they're utterly perfect. They also come out to play when I get up very early on a sunny Sunday morning and feel like going out for a serious blat in the MX-5, as I want to keep control and finesse to a maximum. I do also have a pair of Converse that were bought for that purpose, to avoid me having to drag the Sparcos out of my kitbag, but I just don't find them as comfortable or secure. Aside from those, I've got a pair of huge Vans thick-soled trainers. They look like the most useless things for driving in, but somehow they let enough feel through as well as giving the ankle a lot of support that they've rapidly found their way towards becoming my go-to pair of shoes I put on when in the 911. Feel isn't that important in this because there's no clutch, so I can use something more supportive as my feet have a pedal each, so there's less movement involved which can lead to cramp. A pair of Speedcats is usually the answer to your question as a rule, but I've never tried them myself. I do fancy a pair of Piloti Prototipo though...
  15. Basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, canoe slalom... I stopped checking after those four, there may be more though. All on the website, just search through the sports.
  16. Let me know what you think of PC Specialist, interested to know if my great experience was a one-off or not
  17. Ricey is correct, everyone has different ideas of what the right car is. Some however, are just plain wrong.
  18. GB women's hockey team. Tidy.
  19. Gen2 tubby was out of my price range sadly, and the gen1 has the awful PCM2 sat nav thing (well, there's a few late gen1 tubbies with PCM3, but they're rare) which I didn't want. In all honesty as it's my first 911 I wanted a pretty basic one, 2WD narrow body S ticked every box but I wanted the PDK for something different. If I was buying now I might be tempted by a GT3, but you sacrifice the b-road ability in one of those so I don't know. Would love to have a turbo at some point, maybe a 996 and mod it a bit more.
  20. Test drive is all arranged for next Wednesday, in an actual diesel SLK. I'm driving three cars that day: The new Boxster, the GT86, then the SLK. Shoud be good fun
  21. There's a thread on here by me which goes into a lot of detail about it (search for '911 content'), but suffice to say it's my dream car and it's as perfect a sports coupe as I could want. Flicks between GT cruiser and ballistic B-road blatter with a flick of a switch, with genuine character and every day usability. Love it.
  22. 997.2 C2S with the PDK 'box.
  23. Just depends how they're setup, like any car. WRX cars are a little less sharp on the turn-in than the STi cars though, I'll give you that much.
  24. Imprezas don't understeer any more than an Evo does
