  1. Demon Tweeks sell generic ones.
  2. Re the wing mirror thing, blame the EU. They brought out a new rule stating that wing mirrors must be a percentage of the size of the car, so small cars get tiny ones and big cars get huge ones. You should see the size of them on the RR Phantom. They're ridiculous.
  3. You can get a single year on it, but no more than that. Or you take the punt.
  4. Apart from the fact it's sold, it looks a solid car to me. Personally I hate the PCM2 sat nav but it's certainly desirable for resale purposes, and very rare in a 2.7 987.1. Car looks great in that colour, and has sensible wheels on too.
  5. So £15K, assuming it must be fun at least. A Cayman would be significantly different from your car, in terms of handling. If you've never done MR, it'd be a great place to start. Budget to run? You could get a 4200 for that kind of cash, but with no slush fund you might be taking a punt.
  6. Sometimes you just feel the need to change. No harm in that. Did the Evo Xs go to 10k service intervals, or were they still on 6k? No chance it'll do better fuel economy than a Zed though, they're worse than the equivalent Impreza and I can promise you they're much worse than a Zed! What are the must haves/have nots?
  7. Leave, and don't look back. At this point in life fella you are either going to have to plough it alone, or forever be stuck. It will be hard, the car may well have to go, but you will be a happier and stronger person for it. I think I said that I could see this happening at some point when it first kicked off, and I take no delight in being right this time (which is very unlike me!). Living with people who bring you down is never going to work long term, and I'd rather be happy and broke than sad and comfortable.
  8. You dont half talk nonsense sometimes, civilian gps (sps) and military gps (pps) use exactly the same satellites, civilian operates on one frequency and military two so they can use "ionospheric correction" which reduces radio degradation through the earths atmosphere. Topography has nothing to do with it Civilian gps is getting more and more accurate year on year as they introduce new signals and frequencies So we're completely ignoring how most GPS units in small modern devices (like phones and satnavs) only have a frequency sample of 1Hz, when for that kind of accuracy you're talking about you need at least 5Hz or higher via some kind of additional receiver? Never mind the use of A-GPS in phones. Okay, just checking.

From some angles it's okay, but I wouldn't call it stunning. I don't hate it though, and I'd happily drive round in one.

I googled it to be sure
  11. Domestic GPS isn't accurate enough, as it doesn't take into account topography.
  12. I need all the protein I can get with all this training at the moment. Queue the dirty comments... Sod the comments, I'll be round in 10.

Like all 370s, I assume so.
  14. FF you say? Stay tuned... I loved it, I really did. Much more so than anything else I've driven for a long time.
  15. Bingo. When I got caught doing 107mph 1/4 average on the A12 and got away with a £60 fine and just 3pts, I considered myself a very lucky boy and toned my driving down instantly because of it. That was back in June 2005, and I haven't changed back to my old habits at all.
  16. Should be plenty. Depends on what you want to do though, how big you are and how big the tools are you want to use.
  17. My mate went to Tenerife last year on holiday, said it was excellent. I'm going to go to Elevenerife this year, got to be better I reckon.
  18. I've got a mate who said that to me, once.
  19. I think it was Rob, but that may have been Jo's one and not mine, can't remember now.
  20. You probably swallowed it during the night.
  21. Then you need two cats. That's what my two do: Zelda catches and kills, Geldof eats.
  22. Get a cat. They love the buggers.
  23. It's an absolute offence. You either are speeding, or you're not. If you are, even by a single mph, you can have zero complaints.
  24. "The bottom line is to check the precise conditions for driving other cars with your insurer. Otherwise, the outcome could end up costing you a packet." Yeah, that.
  25. You might hurt someone at 30mph. You might cripple them at 40mph. You might kill them at 50mph. Better to go 50 than 40, save them the pain of a lifetime of agony.
