The whole engine is sealed by a big gasket and that's pumping oil round at much bigger pressures than what's sitting in the sump It'll be fine, and as said it's a much better idea than just welding them shut.

Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect by any means (there was a reason I bought a 911 not the M3) as it can feel a trifle staid inside as it's just another 3-series, but in terms of the actual drive I couldn't fault it.

Completely different league, they're not even close in performance in either a straight line or round corners. Even more so with the DCT, it's a seriously impressive 'box if you like flappy paddles. Last of the high revving NA M cars. Buy one before everyone else does.

I'd run 888s on a Zed, but there's not much else out there in the Toyo range I'd run, certainly not on something with 300bhp. Even if the MPSS are 30% more expensive, you'll get at least 50% more life from them so it makes financial sense to do that.

To this day, I still actively avoid drain covers when driving because of my time with the VXR.

I said unpopular, not rubbish. I agree with you, economically they've done an excellent job, it's just that a lot of people have very short memories and forget why things went belly up.
