  1. If PCars is vaguely realistic, you wouldn't want to be driving one of those with lag like that, plus I think people generally want their engines to last more than an hour I know what you're getting at though, and the efficiency is definitely coming up massively these days. Sadly with everything going turbo I feel we're losing as much as we're gaining, as drivers.
  2. Same old story as with anything like this, we just don't have the infrastructure in this country, or we don't give two hoots about increasing demand on the existing. We get this all the time in the water industry and it's so frustrating. You cannot just build millions of homes and NOT upgrade the infrastructure, all it leaves you with is a much weaker backbone than what you started with. Stupid. We should ditch HS2 and plough all that money into providing fibre to EVERY corner of the country. That'd do more for the economy than being able to get to Brum 20mins quicker from London.* *I have no idea where HS2 actually goes, or if that's even close to the correct shortening of time. I just think that HS2 is a complete waste of money full stop
  3. My brother is giving serious thought to one of these, over the BMW 228/235. Tbh I think I'd also rather have the FRS over the BMW, if I wanted the practicality side of things as much as anything else. It's just a huge shame they toned the styling down so much, the mk2 FRS was absolutely perfect in that regard. Going back to the subject at hand, unfortunately it looks like we're still not able to escape the power contest yet. Every time a new car comes out it has more power than the last one, and on the odd occasion it doesn't it gets slated (FN2 CTR, I'm looking at you). It may look great on paper, and every one likes a bit more power, but it's genuinely getting to the point where usable power levels are getting harder and harder to find. We've a 400bhp Golf coming, FFS!
  4. So they turn down work for fear of damaging a nice car, and you're having a pop at them? Granted, they should've checked when you first got there if they'd seen the car, but even so this is nit-picking of the highest order. Personally, I think it's good to see them taking a bit of care rather than just going in blind.
  5. Too much power, not enough involvement. F-Type is a good example, the V6S is the one I'd have over the R. The manufacturers can have their will waving contest if they want, I'll always pick the one that drives the best, not the one with the smallest 0-60.
  6. For business yes, no issue there as you don't need half the data that home users do. Definitely the best choice if the alternative is nothing.
  7. BT are excellent. I've only ever had great customer service from them when I've dealt with them, including new lines, interwebs and house moves. So ner
  8. I just looked up satellite internet costs as I hadn't looked for years: OUCH! Tooway, for example, offer at most a data cap of 100GB (although unlimited browsing and email, no doubt via their servers), all for the bargain price of £6.99 a month for equipment rental AND £99.99 A MONTH FOR THE DATA! Max speeds of 22/6 as well, so hardly earth shattering. Nope, sod that.
  9. I'm with BT too. I know technically BT and Openreach are different companies now, but it's still a close link than anywhere else and I figured I might as well be as close as possible to the people I need to shout out if things go wrong.
  10. Elon Musk is the new Steve Jobs, isn't he?
  11. Oh absolutely, especially as media stops coming over the air and starts coming down the phone line instead. No-one's going to want to live somewhere where they can only get 3 channels, especially when 4K/8K/whatever becomes mainstream in 10-20 years.
  12. I've never used it, I just change approach if I'm going in during the day. An extra 10m distance makes a lot of difference, and daylight also helps me see what's going on too.
  13. I booked our group in back in July We'll have to meet up again though mate, that was a cracking night this year even if I didn't find KFC but I did lose my socks... Plenty of time left to book though, there's loads of space still around in the big sites. I can heartily recommend 1st Tickets, that's who we're going with again.
  14. Can't do charging pads, Tesla don't use them so clearly they must be a useless idea
  15. Cheap copper, and I bet you're miles from the exchange. Blame the developers for not caring about internets, or blame the people buying the properties for not insisting that a new exchange be built Very common issue on modern properties. It's why I made so many checks as to where the exchange was and how old the house was before we bought ours, as well as checking with neighbours as to their download speeds.
  16. You really can't hang around on some of the missions, can you? Like when you need to save hostages, literally you get a couple of minutes to bomb across the map on horse and go rushing in to get them, and just deal with enemies as you find them.
  17. His personal feelings are not necessarily going to become policy.
  18. Seek a 2nd opinion. Until you get clearance though, you must not drive.
  19. Do it! My brother has just hired a cleaner, think he pays her £10 p/h which is just silly. Why would you not for that price?
  20. Keep an eye out on eBay, I got my TV for £5 I'm currently looking for a Panasonic 28", a specific model really as that's what I used to have and it was ace. Came with built-in 5.1 as well, which would be nice to do out of the box rather than faff around trying to run it through the AVR.
  21. If I knew how cheap they were, I'd have hired one years ago.
  22. One less drink down the pub on a weekend will do it. Or chuck a bluey away every week into a pot, sorted.
  23. Ah sorry dude, that probably came across as really patronising then Erm, didn't mean that, I genuinely thought that someone who was massively into his retro stuff would know more than I did. So yeah, apologies and things. It's ridiculous, I have a 50" LCD hung up on the wall for the 360/Wii/PS2, then a poxy 32" CRT which is about a billion times the depth for playing sodding Mario Kart on!
