  1. Absolutely, I've always said the rev limit was a far bigger draw to the HR than a bit of extra power
  2. It's actually 308.7bhp, so 309bhp is what's usually used
  3. It says MEL, perfect for a Melanie I guess. Probably not worth more than a couple of hundred quid though, same as what you'd pay for anything else. Still, right buyer and all that.
  4. An 06 276bhp could well have the higher rate of VED as well. Now I know I bang on about that being peanuts in the grand scheme (and it is), but if you're going to pay the extra then at least get the 296bhp version, or preferably the HR!

What kind of a girly wuss uses the disposable gloves at petrol stations anyway?!
  6. Well, it's not impossible. Certainly sounds like the clutch is slipping, but it could just be poor adjustment too. Easy way to tell is to go out and sit at 30mph in 5th gear, then floor the throttle. If the revs rise but the speed doesn't then yes, it's goosed. However, are you referring to upshifts or downshifts? I wonder if it's anything to do with the rev matching stuff...

Couldn't care less how much torque it has, it sounds like a tractor and revs to about 23rpm and thus has no interest to me.
  8. No. They're separate transactions. You can buy the new plate whenever you like. Go to the DVLA website and click the link about retaining a registration number, it's all very straight forward now.
  9. And more of a general rule this one, but on a similar line ALWAYS undo the filler plug on a transmission fluid change BEFORE the drain plug. Nowt worse than emptying the transmission to discover you can't fill it back up!
  10. Just whack a screwdriver through the middle of the filter, then use that to spin it off. Easy peasy. Also, this is why K&N filters are great, as they have a nut on the bottom you can get a socket onto.
  11. Really? Never noticed
  12. Maybe it was just the song they sang, like they had to give Mark his token chance at writing a song and once again he let everyone down. You could almost see poor Gary cringing as he sang the chorus.
  13. Very common, every BD disc I've ever had has done that. Time to grab the black Hammerite!

I like going to Spain for a nice brake, it's lovely down at the front Budget?
  18. More to it than that, I suspect. Also, rather too many than not enough.
  19. I thought the same thing, nearly posted on FB but didn't want her to unfriend me!
  20. It's all about satisfactory quality, and clearly this isn't. That was the core of the SOGA, still applies to the CGA so I don't see any issues.
  21. Yes, but Sony units are crap, so don't buy that one Only half kidding, they're really not great musically, but will do the job so if you like the style then it'll work. Personally Id be looking at spending a bit more and going touch screen, but there is an argument that a big f*ck-off dial and proper buttons are actually easier to control when on the move... Whatever you do though it won't be plug and play, you'll end up adding an additional earth wire to the chassis regardless, and probably need an in-line booster to make the signal at the correct level.
  22. No-one watch this last night? Few things I'd like to note: - Chris Evans is still mentally brilliant on TV. - U2 are a band of two halves. Well, 3/4 and 1/4: The Edge is a much better guitarist than I've given him credit for, the drummer looks bored but is ace, bassist very good, but Bono on stage is an utter cretinous bellend. Even more so than when he's whinging about Africa with his mate Bob. Is there a more punch-worthy musician alive? - Take That looked more like a trio of Dad's singing karaoke. Give it up lads, go out gracefully. - WTF are Slaves? Did they just let two stinking chavs up on the stage to shout a bit? Please tell me they're not 'cool'. - Steve Coogan must have about a billion stories I'd love to listen to. He jumps to the front of my Ultimate Dinner Party List, I think. - I love how Chris still calls Billie, Bills! - Best bit might've been Chris looking at his son when he was asking the question to Bono. You could see the pride in his eyes. *sniff* - That Saoirse woman is a little bit hot, isn't she? But yeah, it's still ace. Shame it has to end after this run as Evans is contracted to BBC TV for TG, as I can't imagine it being any good with anyone else.
