Yup, new engine I'm afraid. Or a rebuild if you so desire. However, how did they know how much it's burning unless they've run it for 600 miles? Surely you would notice that when carrying out your weekly/monthly/whenever oil check.
-
They own it until you've paid 100% of it. However, they cannot just turn up and take it back if you've missed a payment once you get past a certain percentage (it's a different figure in Scotland than the rest of the UK IIRC, and I don't know the two figures off hand). However, all of that is immaterial to a purchaser who is unaware of the finance in place. The finance company CANNOT take the car back then, they will however have a lovely legal claim with the previous owner who took the finance out with them.

It's just how it comes across, tbh. To the average Joe it looks like a bunch of loud stickered up bewinged bodykitted cars sat in a car park revving their engines. You'll have a lot of young kids around who may not be wearing ear defenders and not expecting a rev off on the stands, plus once one stand does it then it encourages the others to join in and whilst a V6 may not be the worst thing to listen to, 50 sodding Honda four pots banging off the limiter isn't the nicest of noises. Aside from the track stuff, it's a static show.

Depends. I sold my VXR to a mate. He paid me by cheque but took the car there and then. When the cheque cleared I paid the finance. No issues, we're best mates so plenty of trust. I sold the Mini to a dealer. He paid us the cash directly, then sat there whilst we then paid the finance company over the phone. I sold the 911 to a random. He paid the finance directly by CHAPS (which, btw, only guarantees same day before 5pm NOT instant payment as we found out!), then when both he and I had proof the finance was clear did I give him the keys. The latter way is the only way to do it really. Both of you need to be happy the finance has been paid off, so as the buyer you should pay the finance company directly. Btw don't believe anyone who says that if you buy a car with finance outstanding that they can repossess it as that's nonsense: If you bought in good faith and didn't know about the finance, then you have clear title to the car. The finance co have to chase the person who the finance was with, they no longer have any rights to the car at all and if they take it then that's theft. *EDIT* That last para looks really harsh on Richf now, sorry mate I was still composing when you posted! I'm right though, they cannot simply repossess if you didn't know about the finance. If you did, then that's not clear title and they CAN take it back.

Think you've answered your own question, Dan, most people are off on Sunday and that means the biggest opportunity for numbers through the gate. See, I see it the other way. Most people have to leave early, so if you've got a long trip then you're not likely to bother going at all.
-
I've used a bolt, a bit of rubber hose and a couple of jubilee clips before.

I have no idea why shows use Sunday as the big day. It seems ridiculous to me, why not use the first day of the weekend when you know the vast majority of people don't have to work the next day so can stay until the end? It's a big bugbear of mine, that.

You might be surprised, something like the Recaro Pole Positions are extremely generous yet amazingly supportive, or there are numerous buckets that come in XL editions now too which could also work for you.
-
So you want recliners rather than proper buckets? Probably not so much of an issue for fitting you personally then, but definitely as important comfort wise Personally I'd stay away from anything that yellow though, it's a bright colour so less is more. Speak to Mondo on here from Hide n Seat, he'll be able to retrim to your own preference.

Only if there's a problem. If there's no problem, you'll clear the error code from the memory.

Pull the battery for an hour, bet that kills the lights.

Always been fine for me in the past. Cancel the order and go elsewhere?

Untick the bottom checklist. Basically, you should only have 'Forums' and 'Content I have not read' ticked
-
How does that relate to the car running rich and stalling, on a system with no BOV?

Go to the full version, click 'content I have not read'.

Brad's full engine rebuild - Done, in, running MOT passed!

Noooooooo -
Boosted, no BOV. Richf said his car stalls due to running rich when run with no BOV on a draw through system. I are teh confuzed.

First Audi, Now Mitsubishi (and kind of Nissan)

Meh. Bored of this story now, it makes zero difference to anyone. -
Exactly! So how does the engine run rich? It's not seeing any more or less air than it's supposed to. I don't get this at all.
-
I get that, but I'm referring to a system with no BOV at all. I guess I'm struggling to see how the car runs rich when no air is being removed. Should probably have corrected my post to show I was replying to Richf rather than yourself though, you nipped in before I posted

The O2 sensor doesn't work on an on/off failure system, it needs a number of cycles to determine whether it's functioning or not. You may find it stays off, but that'll be a fluke more than anything. Bet it comes back on though, and then you'll need a new sensor.

So are we saying this happens? On a pre-turbo (or draw through) system: 1. On full boost at WOT, MAF reads X amount of air. Engine adds X amount of fuel. 2. You come off the gas completely. TB shuts closed. 3. Compressed air has nowhere to go, so pushes back into the turbo. 4. Air goes through the turbo back past the MAF into atmos pressure, causing the MAF to read air again. 5. As the MAF is reading air movement, the engine adds X amount of fuel despite no extra air going past the TB. That's the only way I can see a non-BOV system adding fuel after you close the TB. On a system with a VTA BOV that sits after the MAF, then yes that would cause the engine to run rich as you've dumped metered air (as has already been said).
