What's the budget? Personally I'd be getting any i7, as much RAM as you can (16GB should really be fine tbh, but it's cheap enough so 32GB is always a nice to have), and then the fastest Nvidia card you can get your hands on. A 1070 would be my absolute minimum, preferably a 1080 if budget allows as that will be a noticeable step up if you're aiming at VR. My current 980 will do something like Doom at 1080/60 on Ultra with the occasional drop to 50fps, but that's a year old now and you want to be looking forward. Vive uses 2160x1200, so significantly more and you can expect the Vive 2 to be higher than that again (hopefully closer to 1920x1080 in each eye), so you really want the best you can here. I prefer Intel SSDs, and my current setup has one SSD for the OS and generic programs like PS, iTunes etc. Another SSD takes the popular games where loading can be a pain (Skyrim, Fallout 4 etc), then I have two regular SATA drives for everything else.

(FF to 1'10") If there's a better song ever been performed on the Unplugged series, I've yet to hear it. Considering it was a cover that no-one had ever heard of, to end the show with that was brave as hell. And given Kurt's mental state around that time, and of course what happened a few months afterwards, that vocal performance is the dictionary definition of achingly haunting.

PC Specialist. I wouldn't go anywhere else, and their customer service is excellent. Sod building your own, too much hassle. Yes I can do it and it's not hard, but I've better things to do with my time especially trying to chase down an error when you can't even get into the OS. I'd rather spend another £150 and get someone to do the leg work for me.

They're a decent tyre, and in the dry they're the equal of the MPSS. However, in the wet they have nowhere close to the same level of grip, although you do get feedback to let you know this. Currently got them on our Impreza, personally I can't wait until they're shot so I can get some RE070s back on it. Some people love them though, but personally I've been far less than impressed. Better than FK452 et al though. In terms of age, check the sidewall for this: The bit on the right is what you're after, tells you the week and year the tyre was made. Here, it's showing week 9 of 2007.

Absolutely fine to mix, tbh I've tried both XL and non-XL and I'll be buggered if I can tell the difference.

Agreed, spoiler really works well.

Ah okay, must be a new thing then as mine doesn't have that. Ta

They're 6 series, Commander wanted the 7 series.

You want zero give in the suspension. To me, the obvious thing then is simply to fit the stiffest thing a manufacturer will make: Doesn't matter what anyone else has used, you're still going to need something miles stiffer and if you're paying for custom then just go to the nth degree. I don't like air either, but I accept at least it leaves the car driveable (and I don't just mean hooning, I mean pootling on a public road). How can you get any satisfaction from essentially ruining a car? Because that's what you're talking about. It takes a certain level of skill and nous to get a car that looks awesome as well as handles: It takes none to do one or the other. Might as well weld everything up and lift it off the back of a low loader.
-
That's completely self-defeating. Air is just for lows, and if the car is about looks and lows only then surely you achieve that in the quickest and easiest way possible. Saying you wouldn't fit air to a Jap car is bonkers Fit air, drive to show, park it up, lower it, drive it home when done. Put your money into other areas rather than faffing around with stuff no-one cares about. Having a car as stiff as you're talking about is going to place all sorts of stress on the chassis, and possibly cause you more issues down the line. You might as well just go to BC or whoever will do you custom spring rates and simply ask them for the stiffest springs they can possibly make. Who cares what others have used? You're trying to drive any comfort or roadholding from the car, so may as well do a proper job. Or get a bunch of the PDI blocks from OEM and fit them into standard springs to stop them moving I get that I'm hardly the hippest cool cat when it comes to looking standing by your car rather than driving your car, but this thread has me all kind of puzzled.
-
If you just want low, then get air. At least you'll keep some kind of comfort when driving the bloody thing. Making the suspension as stiff as possible won't do anything to make the car lower. What are you actually trying to achieve here? It sounds like you just want to park it up and let people stare at it, in which case chucking money at bushes and ARBs is a waste of cash.

Samsung all the way for me, the 7 series are very decent tellyboxes. I run a 6 series 75" and it's still a cut above the equivalent ones from other brands at the same price.

Rosberg winning the championship is like Man Utd winning the league by 5pts even though everyone else played six games less. You can only win with what's put in front of you, the numbers say he deserves the win and that's that really. Not the worst driver to win a championship, and prob deserves one for his length of service at Merc, but certainly won't be remembered as anything special.

Oh, I forgot to mention just how ridiculous that SA 'craze' of donutting in a car park actually is. If you're going to drift then do it properly, that kind of malarkey was nothing different to what you can find in every Lidl car park on a Thursday night over here

Hololens is a waste of time, the viewing angle is absolute garbage: http://newatlas.com/hololens-fov-field-of-view-illustrated/44903/ AR is dead as a dead thing.

Don't get me wrong, I've been umming and ahhing over grabbing a Vive this weekend as it's £100 off, and even managed to grab a go in the flesh today at the IDH Xmas show. It's impressive, very impressive, but I can't help but think I want to wait for the 2nd gen of hardware before committing at the very least. There's also too much of a split between OR and Vive for my taste, which isn't good for the industry.

Given that there was a warning regarding circumventing UK copyright laws on here the other day, it might be best to drop the subject. However, by far and large the vast majority of people do obtain things legally.

Jezza lied, end of. I agree with Fodder, this is now aimed squarely at the yanks and its poorer for it. All IMHO, I await the rest of the season etc.

VR is far from a revolution. It's fun, quirky, but years off mainstream.

You could've taken your car to any Nissan dealer, y'know. I mean not now you've done the flywheel, but before you could have. Be interesting to see what the issue is, did you have any symptoms before it happened?

Agreed, it's fine. You could do better, but you could do a lot worse. -
