This. I think you can heat them and then bank them out with a hammer, and then just replace with a standard bolt.

Wow, you people are freaks I've always been big, and i cant avoid it. If i eat 2500 calories a day, i'll still put weight on. Im 6'2 and I used to operate around the 95kg point in my early 20's and was mildly overweight, but had to do sport 4 times a week to even maintain that. Then i got injured and had spinal surgery, and in the 5 years since then i've ballooned to 123kg! Dieting for me only maintains this weight, and i've not been able to do exercise in a loooong time. However - this is now all changing! I had some spinal injections in December that i discussed on here, and since then i've been able to do some basic exercise. Im now swimming and doing core work 7 days a week, and living on a keto diet - and im now down to 114kg. This is just the start... to be active again feels amazing so this year im really on a drive to fix my back and get back to team sports.

I on the other hand really like it. I say go for it. For the few quid it will cost, if you dont like it you can remove it, Also it will keep you entertained for an afternoon whilst you're doing it which is always good!

Scary, this kind of thing worries me and makes me lean towards a 997. I've still not gone and done my research yet - Dan (or anyone else), you mentioined earlier about the 997.1 being similar to a 996, do they suffer from these same 'hand grenade' problems or would it be a much more sensible buy than a 996? HAVE IT! http://www.ebay.co.u...d=111251614114 He would take 8K and Honest Docwra promises you its a good un Tempting, but looks a little too ordinary for me. Gixxer's looks more up my street, although i think im going to be looking closer to £11k to get one that looks similar (but not as good - im not underestimating the value of yours there gix.)

Both items now sold, mods you can lock this. Spatt (Matt) came down and collected the blue ducting today. Matt it was great to see you (and my old car!) im really glad you're enjoying and looking after it, and we'll definitely catch up in the summer.

I'd speak to ZMANALEX/Clarke Motorsport though to be sure, as im no expert.

Dont fret, you can get them on ebay for the same price bud. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Buick-Century-Blue-Conduit-Engine-Dressing-Kit-PIPE-HOSE-PLASTIC-ID23864-/350841610683?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51afca21bb

All yours if you want them buddy! Im in all weekend if you want to collect, or i can post them on Monday for you if you want.

For the reflective film you can also use window tint film which works just as well. I had one on my previous car and just went to a tinting place and asked them to give me a few scraps and so i cut my own to shape.

Well before it got as bad as it now, was the clutch slipping in 5th or 6th? i.e. Put it in 5th and put your foot down - did the revs go up but you didnt go faster? But it should have still been easily drivable in the lower gears.

Can the polls be anonymous on here? Don't think I've ever set one up! Yes.
-
Or something like this where you enter your salary after tax and it tells you what percentile you're in: http://www.theguardi...ic:in body link That's pretty cool! We should all do it and then do a poll of the results on here to see what percentile you fall into.
-
Agreed - surely you would have had symptoms build up over time if it was the clutch. I've never heard of one just stop working. I would say it's more likely to be a fluid issue. Is yours an HR (07+)? I think there was an issue with the Master cylinder which is housed inside the clutch housing or something like that? Search on here for threads by Greekman, as he had that issue i think.

Yeah thats true i guess. I just wouldnt know how to know when it will have stopped the large depreciation? I bought my zed for 8k and could probably still get 7k for it. But, when i bought it i thought it was still depreciating quite alot. Is it a set year that they calm down, or is it specific to different cars? Totally different amount per car. Just go on autotrader and look at the bottom price for an A5. The cheapest A5 is £8k for a 2008 car, which is 5 years old - so you know that in 5 years a 2013 car will be worth around £8k. This is obviously not an exact science as differences in mileage/spec/condition will always be reflected in the price, but it allows you to get an idea.

It's called PCP. Look at www.contracthoreandleasing.com to get an idea of prices, but make sure you're searching for Personal and not Business. I've never done it myself but i can see the benefit. I always wondered how youngish people could afford brand new cars, and in the majority of cases this is how. In terms of buying a car yourself, for me it's all about depreciation. I like to have nice cars, but i want to get them after the majority of the depreciation has passed - that way it wont cost you as much in the long run. I wouldnt dream of spending £19k on an A5 as you know it will be worth £10k in 2 years time. However if you buy a £10k A5 now it's going to be worth £7-8k in 2 years, so you've just saved yourself £7k.

That's the right price. It's the same price i paid for it on here used!

Absolutely LOVING that Gix, wow. Love those rear lights. And Dan and DBlock, despite your differences you've both given me really useful info. A question for you (so i can gauge the perceived risk) - on the link that Leon sent me the garage says: Would you look to have the inspection and possibly do this work upfront, or risk it and not do it? I guess the answer will be to have an inspection and if it looks like it's on the way out then get it done beforehand.
