  1. I hadn't seen that one, but it was on today... truly terrible. It's on again on Comedy Central late tonight if anyone fancies watching it.
  2. Not films but i'm loving watching The A Team and Baywatch re-runs on Comedy Central every night at the moment... takes me back to my childhood... Saturday afternoons were the best!
  3. Yeah that's a steal... i've seen prices triple that for the same job!
  4. Looking lovely as always Andy... Handforth Dean? In the below marked space?
  5. I've got no idea what type of plastic mine are made from, i'm guessing FRP or ABS, but that's not the point. I personally wouldn't want to tape metal anything to my car. Plastic or carbon will crack or shatter if falling off and driven over by the car behind - alu won't and would do some proper damage - even if it is only double the weight. That said, yes there are alu louvre's out there such as the Tarmac version. I dont know how these are fitted, and I'm not saying VHB tape wouldn't be suitable, but if i was buying (or selling) a product, i'd want to be assured that it was safe and not just based on a gut feel that VHB is strong enough. You mention that you'll make it aerodynamic etc, but without testing (or a wind tunnel!) i'm not sure how it can be proven that tape would be capable of holding the louvres on at high speed. I'm assuming tape surface area matters too, and there are different tape grades/suppliers with different applications etc. As a seller i'd either want to provide a confirmed suitable tape, or specify which tape to use (or mandate tigerseal as you suggested).
  6. Being depreciation-proof is tempting, but i'm ideally looking for a daily whilst keeping the Mustang, hence being interested in the 2.7 non-S i reckon.
  7. I'll be honest mate, i really wouldn't be comfortable driving around with 7kg of sheet metal vhb taped to my car at 100mph on the motorway - thats doing some damage to my car and worse, the car behind if it comes off.
  8. How would they be attached if you're making them out of aluminium? I've got plastic ones stick on my Mustang with 3m tape...
  9. There will always be a stigma with owning an import, with people thinking its a lesser car given it was potentially a bit cheaper than a UK equivalent. And i've had 2 import zeds so im speaking from experience. That said, i'd personally look for an alternative as those parking sensors dont look great, and upgrading to brembos is costly and a faff, plus upgrading the wheels etc - with so much potential choice I'd personally wait and find the right car rather than rushing into one out of impatience. The excitement and anticipation of searching for a new car is arguably the best bit anyway, i find. The only optional features i can think of that exist on JDM zeds that isn't on UK zeds were: Auto-dip wing mirrors when in reverse Knee pads on driver door and centre console (which are horrible) Puddle lights, possibly (i cant remember). And actually, although it was removed before i owned my car, mine had factory cameras on the front left and right of the front bumper, which were apparently to help the driver see left/right when edging out of tight Japanese roads! Come to think of it i've never seen that on another 350z in all my time on the forum... Another couple of possible downsides to an import are that its likely electronically limited to 112mph (my first one was, second one wasnt), and that the triple gauge cluster on the centre console will read in km/l rather than mpg. But this is an easy part to swap out if you can get hold of a UK set.
  10. Yeah kind of - just takes away about 75% of the throttle response. I think there's a Sport mode on the same toggle switch too, but i don't remember that doing much.
  11. Its an auto - it's the Snow Mode button along with heated seats.
  12. PM replied to. Think about what mods you might want too as there are lot of modified examples out there, so you might be able to get a head start on how you want it to ultimately look.
  13. Actually i really like the Abarth124's, but they're still a bit rich for what they are imho... i'd have one if they were a bit cheaper though, so maybe in a few years. Nah, I don't like performance BMW's... performance-wise they're fantastic obviously but they just look to ordinary. Yeah, i saw you'd got one Stu... very nice.
  14. Yeah i do like the 981 Boxster's so not a bad shout - the wife wants me to get a convertible next, too. But I prefer the look of the Cayman. Won't rule it out. R9/991 width won't matter as it won't be my daily. Not sure about a 997... I think i'd prefer the Mustang/Cayman combo. I know... i flip flop every other week with it. After it's been washed it looks like a million dollars and i'm adamant i'm keeping it, but then a few days later i'm back browsing autotrader. Ive never genuinely loved it like I did with my Azure Zed (which i do regret selling). I don't love the 2 series'. Undoubtedly they're insanely capable, but one of my mates has a heavily-modded M235i (which is way quicker than my Mustang) but i don't love the look of them (Sorry Stan!) I love the look of Wranglers but agreed, their prices are crazy. It's mad how they hold their value yet other Jeep's plummet.
  15. Just had a google... looks like there's a UK release pencilled in, but they'll be £81k+ (versus £45k equivalent in the US )
  16. My Mustang will be paid off around May next year and i'm torn as to what to get next. I've left my Mustang on the drive and have been driving my wife's old e90 BMW 320d for most of the year while she's been wfh as I don't particularly enjoy driving the 'Stang to work. I have a 15 mile commute down some crappy country lanes, which are single track in 4 or 5 places. The Mustang is too big and too nice to subject to that drive, plus the frustration of not being able to stretch its legs gets on my tits. Soooo i'm torn as to what to get next, and I've got up to an additional £30k to spend (including some borrowing). I love having a nice car so i'm happy to keep the Mustang and get something else... the current front runner is a 981 Cayman (2.7 non-S model, so that i can drive it a bit harder within the legal limits). I'm thinking it'll be smaller and more suitable for the lanes (or i might just be lying to myself!) Alternatively I could get a 2014-ish 3 series or C Class and then offset the boredom by getting a classic Mustang too. Or I could sell my Mustang and have around £60k to spend, and get something a little more nuts like an R8 or a 991 911 and a 3 series daily... i was also considering an F-Type but i suspect it'll be too big like the Mustang. My realistic dream car is the Mercedes AMG GT which you can pick up for high £50k's, but they're still depreciating heavily so i'll leave it another 2 or 3 years before i start looking at them. What would you guys do? Here's the 'Stang as it stands today. (BMW in the garage is my track car, which i'm also looking to swap next year).
  17. I cant speak from 350z experience but i've had both on my Mustang. It came with the Pirelli P Zero's from new and they were an embarrassment - I think the zero stands for zero cold or wet grip. They lasted under 4.5k miles from new until they were at the legal limit, and they nearly killed me when pulling onto a dual carriageway from a slip road, and accelerating in 3rd - i ended up fishtailing across both carriageways a couple of times. I swapped them for MPS4s part-worns the following week, which had 5.5mm tread on them, and they lasted 9k miles. Loads more grip (but break away when required) and much improved wet and cold performance. No contest.

    Mud -Stang!

Thats bonkers. Fun to watch though. More money than sense!
  19. I would imagine this will make any halfway interesting ICE cars from the late 20's appreciate very nicely - as long as there isnt a heavy penalty for ownership such as ludicrous road tax etc.
  20. Yeah dead common. Just double-declutch on gear change to avoid it. Annoying at first but becomes muscle memory before too long. Molyslip may help but didn't on mine back in the day.
  21. Cheers Andy... it's getting there.
  22. Couple of new mods to report on my Mustang... First up, i removed the stripes some time back... I think it looks better without them. Secondly, i picked up a set of SVE R350 19" alloys with MPSS rears and MPS4s fronts. They dont seem to make MPS4Ss in 305/35/19 yet... had to add some blue wheel nuts to complement the look. Finally I added the front splitter today... it was a bumper off job and more of a ballache than i was expecting, but all sorted now and i'm really pleased with the look. Next on the to-do list is a black front badge...
  23. Just me...? I actually tried this for the first time today, and it was pretty disappointing. I pulled the green abrasive sponge off following this picture, but it doesnt let much through. I might be able to modify it for next time though... in theory the concept's a winner.
