  1. Anyone know this car? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285096110734?hash=item42610d6a8e:g:h94AAOSwmPZjqxYa&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAkEXf2q81LjxMVrjrD9vqS3dMr2GcQydzPoo3RAjMw47a49kq8SyIZNsxo83pErfuBTGgjrZOcm4sUGebeS1sO5IZhHB4RUhaDlwxl%2FRmQTVnJn2zRpLLT%2BH8KUsUQ0rkat%2F%2FS9rNvDOxzfWDy3bu6A5PITsGx9fuEND0RqeXpiDARBHJFu9Fa9IPAfhGDq9J%2BA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR6bp5o6vYQ#readMoreDesc I've been considering getting back into a 350z for a while... has to be azure, preferably with a Nismo kit... i've been looking online for the last few weeks and just spotted this one. I was interested until i saw it's off the road and cant be test driven, but i thought it was worth a post on here nontheless.
  2. It's not been a great year for cinema... post-covid Hollywood is a shell of it's former self. We were already seeing the start of this before covid with the growth of the streaming platforms and the incessant Marvel nonsense, but i think we're now in a really sorry state. My top 3 for the year: Top Gun Maverick Day Shift (Netflix movie - Jamie Foxx action comedy vampire hunting) Bullet Train (Pulp fiction on a train)
  3. Get Guenther Steiner in their, i reckon! 😀
  4. I wouldnt worry about the crunching on gear change... Just double declutch on the gear change into the crunch gears and it'll be fine (clutch in, neutrul, clutch out, clutch in, into 6th, clutch out). Sounds like a faff but you'll soon get the hang of it. I used to have to do it into 3rd and it took me about 2 years after selling the car to lose the muscle memory. 😀 Just get some decent tyres and enjoy it. Michelin Pilot Sport 4's will do the trick.
  5. Well done Stu and team... I think thats probably the longest outage we've had in my 15 years on the forum. Glad everything's been restored. 😅
  6. They might have had aftermarket devices fitted and hard wired in which they removed when selling the car. E.g. a radar detector or dashcam etc. I had a head up display wired in with a switch there which i removed...
  7. Hmm... they could be anything... or nothing! Might have been kit plugged in that has since been removed. Looks like you've got the auto dip mirrors though which is good!
  8. Always love some moody carpark shots... Has some mysterious non-standard on/off switches and an on/off button that I will need to ask you guys about Are these to the right of the steering wheel? These are usually a fog light switch as this is non-standard on the JDM cars, and is one of them a small circle that says Auto? If so then this is for auto-dip rear mirrors when you put it in reverse. A fairly rare option if so.
  9. I never had an issue when i used to have a 2003 JDM auto back in the day... although i guess that was 15 years ago now so maybe they were in the database back then, but they've since been removed? I assume you're manually entering the vehicle rather than relying on the auto lookup of your registration? Is there an option for a Fairlady Z perhaps instead of a 350z...? This may work as thats the Japanese version... If really stuck, and for the short term, you might be able to get temporary insurance for a few days whilst you continue your search... usually about £20 a day but they seem less stringent on specifics!
  10. I did PCP on my Mustang in 2018 on 0% interest with Ford. Balloon payment was £18k, but the car didn't depreciate and i sold it for £36k in 2021, pocketing £18k for myself. I basically had free motoring for 3 years! Doubt you'd get that lucky again as it was a bit of a perfect storm, but I reckon cars aren't depreciating in line with their predicted curve at present, so there'll be plenty of equity left in a car on PCP come balloon payment time.
  11. Its aftermarket... could be anything. Possibly rear fog light which is non standard on JDM cars and is added aftermarket when imported as part of the SVA (legal process to register it on the road). That said, the fog light switch is usually mounted to the right of the steering wheel, by your knee...

    The Carousel

This is a factory Nismo N1 bodykit. You can buy after market Nismo N1 style front lip's, but i dont know how well they compare to the genuine article.
  13. Cant recommend one specifically but you need to look for one that supports JOBD (Japanese OBD) rather than OBD2 as its a different protocol on the JDM cars...

    Odd Creaking

Creaking - i had that on both my zeds and both times it was the drop links / anti roll bar end links. Nice and cheap and easy to replace. I'd swap them over first and report back. Search on here for creaking drop links and you'll find hundreds of posts.
  15. I finally found some time to decorate my garage this weekend with the various bits of Americana and motorsport paraphernalia i've collected over the years from holidays and car shows. The banners were from eBay, about £7 each. i've been wanting a garage like this forever so i'm pleased with where it's now up to...
  16. Were you there G Man? I was there in my '68 Mustang...
  17. Been out for a little spin this evening just to stretch it's legs and take some pictures. I've not even detailed it yet... looking forward to getting the chance to so that it really pops in the pics... I bought a drone recently that i'm still getting the hang of... my battery was almost dead so i only had a couple of mins flight time so this is the best i could do. 🤪
  18. Very nice Jim, perfect concave wheels.😎 Definitely needs a drop as you say... I had Eibach springs on mine... I always felt like the car became quite bouncy after i had them fitted... didnt realise until 2 years later when i removed them myself, that when fitting springs you're supposed to cut a couple of inches off the bump stops to prevent it bouncing on them, so be mindful of that. 🤪
  19. Yeah i can imagine. EFI might be top of the list yet be yet... i'll see how i get on over the next few weeks with it. But it sorely needs modern brakes - at the moment i have to plan braking events about 400m in advance... i've not got a chance in hell if i have to do an emergency stop!
  20. Whats amazing about these Mustangs is that there are loads of off the shelf kits to do all sorts of cool things, and literally 1000's of Youtube how-to videos of people who have done every mod conceivable, which makes all of this maintenance much easier! Not saying i'm going to do it, but there's a fuel injection kit to replace the carbs, which looks pretty cool...
  21. Good advice, i'll keep that in mind cheers.
  22. Arcade Club is great, isn't it? Its about an hour north of me but i've been 4 or 5 times over the years. This new location is really good compared to where it started out...
  23. Cheers guys... took it out for a blast today and it feels gooood! I realised that you've got to be fairly heavy handed with it to get the most out of it... i was being super gentle on the day i got it, but its basically a tractor.... you have to slam the doors to get them to shut, and stamp on the pedals to get it to go/stop. Once i'd figured that out things felt a lot more natural! Im struggling a bit with the anxiety of wondering if it'll start each time I fire it up... it was only 2 degrees this morning here (but sunny), but it took me a good 5 mins to get it running comfortably. The first 3 attempts to start it just refused to idle and died, so i kept my foot on the gas at about 2k revs for maybe 3 mins and then it was fine... not ideal really... It has an auto choke which from what i've read can need constant tuning... Seems to start on the button though once warmed up.
  24. I sold my 2018 Mustang in June 2021 after 3.5 years of ownership. Since then i've been scouring the internet every night looking for its replacement... i've kept an open mind as to what i would replace it with, but narrowed it down to either a classic Mustang or an AC Cobra replica. I'd been to see a few cars but nothing was really doing it for me... ...until now. Yesterday i picked up this beauty - it's a 1968 289 4.7L V8 Coupe Automatic. 60k miles. Restored in Texas in 2014 before being imported into the UK, it's been owned for the last few years by a retired mechanic who's done some fettling in the engine for reliability and mild performance improvements. I've always dreamed of owning a 60's era Mustang - they have been number 1 on my bucket list of cars to own since i was about 12 - so i'm very happy with this. Whilst it looks and sounds great (imho), it honestly drives like crap...!! It has drum brakes all round which are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. I think itd be more effective if i Fred Flintstone'd my leg out the door tbh! So first on the list will be a Wilwood dics/caliper conversion, although im in no rush - it'll only be driven very occasionally. Anyway enough talking... here's the pics! Out with the new... In with the old... (shame about the skip - i'm having a bathroom done...)
  25. I got it for £59.99 on Base.com. To be fair i was happy to pay that for N64 games back in 1997 and they were only 32MB, not 97GB. 😂
