  1. Welcome mate. As Martin said, are you an owner, or just considering it at the moment?
  2. Hi Welcome mate. Yes the poor lights take a bit of getting used to, but as others have said, adjusting them does make a fair amount of difference. Just raise them up a bit...
  3. Hi Mate, I take it you've seen my other posts on this this week then? Try PMing glastoveteran as he was selling one about a year ago... and i think i was the only person interested in it, but he wasnt moving on price so i made my own. Therefore im assuming he still has his available...? Personally, i think having paddle shifts has really improved the driving experience... it just feels a lot more natural changing gear with your hands on the wheel. Sometimes though when people hear about the kit, they assume it will speed up the gear changes etc... it wont do this - it is simply a different location for the microswitches that are activated when changing gear with the stick.
  4. Welcome matey... i've been on several car forums but this is by far the best! I think i'll be on here long after i've moved on from the zed! and blade JDM... great choice
  5. Im with digsy... cat and fiddle, 10mins from me. Done.

    Springs

There is a set of gmax 30mm springs on the JDM performance website for £98! I was looking at them yesterday
  7. Nope... it can only be installed on a JDM as they're the only cars with tiptronic! The official kit is made by 'Works Bell', but like i said, its £400 after import taxes and exchange rates. Worth it though in my opinion, although it is just a toy - it will not increase the speed of your shifts, just means you have your hands on the wheel at all times. I would argue that my home made kit looks almost as good as the official kit, even at 1/10th the price http://www.worksbell.co.jp/en/products/ ... hifter.htm
  8. Thats right... but Park Lane was something like £193 a night
  9. Bugger I spend about £150 a week on fuel But I hate Tesco with a passion! its all Asda around here! Is it the Hilton Olympia by any chance - Kensington High Street? Nice hotel been there loads fo times on training courses nearby- had the Honeymoon suite there once (by mistake) their co** up! Yes stan, it is the Olympia... was the only one i could use my vouchers at Chris, spa hotel... if i'd invested a little more time i'd have probably found a decent spa hotel to go to instead... but there's so many choices, it took me almost 2 hours to pick what i got...! In the end i was like screw it, and picked the easiest one!
  10. Seeing as i only fill up with fuel at Tesco, i get to use my clubcard and so have loads of points. They're worth £65 in cash, but you can convert them on the tesco website to rewards, which are worth 4x more. So... i've gone for hotel vouchers, giving me £260 of vouchers to use. So i've just booked 4 nights at the Hilton in Kensington, London over christmas day, which should total £490, but its only costing me £230...! How cool is that?! Propper bargain!
  11. Hope you dont mind if i hijack this... i could do with a back box, but am only willing to pay £50 + delivery... or preferably meet.... Anyone?
  12. Welcome Dr Greenthumb... As Stan said, i've got flappy paddles on my auto which makes quite a difference... much more fun. I cant fault the autobox though, it feels perfect and makes town driving a pleasure, and then when you want to let loose on a twisty B road, the tiptronic mode is spot on. That said... now im getting into drifting, im starting to consider selling mine to get a manual, so i can drift it with a bit more control (using skill rather than just the power of the car).

    Annoying

The groaning is your anti roll bar end links mate. They need re-greasing or replacing with uprated parts.
  15. BM, i understand what you're trying to say, but the argument for genuine vs replica was the wrong format for it - i think Mark's, comment below was more what you were getting at (the way i understood it, and the way i feel)...
  16. Why are you asking husky...? He wouldnt know anything about that sort of behavior!
  17. Are you down to 6 lives now alex...??
  18. ????????? If it works why don't you make a few and sell to us Tiptronic discontents and make a few bucks?? I'm sure you could shift loads at a sub-£100 fitted price. Cos i've not made it to a standard if you know what i mean... The wiring harness with the microswitches, yes i could make and sell those at 20quid a pop i spose, but the paddles themselves... jeez what a job they were. I made them from scratch out of some ford escort indicator stalks, and about 30 hours with a dremell...! Not something i want to do again! I'll go and take some pictures actually and update my paddle shift thread.
  19. I think the official kits are about £400, but i made one from scratch for about £40... Its taken me bloody ages though!
  20. Thats what i do at oulton park right before i bounce across the grass and into the cones.
  21. The box wont let you change down when its not safe, so you'll be fine. Im sure when nissan aded that feature, they built it within acceptable limits. Manual mode is the way to go though... gives you full control of the car in the same way as a manual. You have nothing in D. ...you want to get a paddle shift kit though... much more fun!
