  1. SL Merc would be my ideal... You can get these for £15k now
  2. Interesting... very 'fritzel-esque' though...
  3. Send a private message to ZMANALEX who i s amember on here, he'll sort you out.
  4. Thats nothing... i paid £47 for mine...!
  5. Sounds like an amazing deal...

    want that one!

My cousin had a mint mk2 escort almost identical to the one below... he died when he was 25, in 1994, and the car has remained locked in a garage in Blackpool at his old house (now owned by his Dad) ever since. Very sad, and such a waste of a mint car.
  7. I've just got in from a ride around the reservoirs in buxton. I only did 10 miles but it was probably the hardest ride i've done this year. We finished with a climb up a near 60degree dam, an then climbed over the fence at the top. It was pretty scary/stupid...!! Should hopefully have a pc when my mate emails it to me later...
  8. Very good chance i will pal... Thats the same sort of lines i was thinking of... car is 11 years old but has only 45k on the clock, so its not had much use... hopefully thats it.
  9. Well... i've had my fiesta for 5 weeks now, and today i nearly died!! The road was slightly wet, i was doing 15mph around a very bad bend with around 12ft visibility, when at the worst possible moment a tractor came the opposite way. I stamped on the brake pedal, but didnt slow down - i just skidded for around 10ft (no ABS) and finished literally inches from this tractor. I got it to stop by yanking on the handbrake and stalling it. I've never come so close to such a big accident (albeit at not much speed). So... im assuming tyres are the problem here? Its running on *cough* nexen's... but they've got about 6mm tread on them, although i dont know how old they are. So - what do i do? Looking on camskill's, i can get some Toyo's for £27 each, but then the Nexen's are £28 each, so does this mean the tyres in that price range are all @*!#, or will Toyo's always be better than Nexen's? Im hopefully only keeping the car for another 6-8 weeks, and then i'll be getting a propper car, so resally dont want to be forking out £100 when its only temporary! (maybe another zed - im so tempted!) Any suggestions?
  10. Ahhh. Still looks weird though. Picture 2 looks nothing like propellers...
  11. What are those black things?
  12. Oh yeh - and they kept messing with my tyre sizes too. It wasnt until i told them to cancel the order that they actually offered me the tyres that i wanted.
  13. I have talked about how crap dp-motorsport many times on here. They sold me faulty wheels and wouldnt refund them, and kept giving me delivery date after delivery date only for them not to arrive...
  14. Crap... you got my hopes up then!! 27mpg... Okay - So i've made a list of cars which can be bought for less than £7k (not more than 90k on the clock) and worked out the fuel costs, and how much it will cost me over 2 years... This is not finished yet - just what i could do on my lunch hour.
  15. My best mate has a mondeo st tdi and its a great car - just well overpriced - looking at £8k for a 2003 Civic is interesting... hadnt thought of that.
  16. To be honest driving has never hurt my back, so im not too worried about that - but thanks Performance diesels... what others are there? I've looked at the 330d which is on another list i have, but the 5-series diesels are above my budget (for such an old car). The only decent diesels i can think of are Leon Focus TDCI Mondeo TDCI Golf GT 530d/535d Any more...?
  17. Cheers Stew. Yep i've been using that site for the fuel calculator, but the trouble with any of these sites, they always seem to list the 'top 10 most economical cars' etc... I think i need a list of performance cars and their MPG's, so i can get the right balance... My budget - im undecided, but want to spend between £3k and £8k... pretty wide range, i know, but i would prefer to spend as little as possible. So for example, i can get the following: Seat Leon Cupra R - £6000 - 32mpg = £4200 p/a Seat Leon Cupra D - £6000 - 53mpg = £2700 p/a Audi S3 - £6500 - 29mpg = £4700 p/a BMW 330ci - £5000 - 31mpg = £4400 p/a BMW 328ci - £4000 - 31mpg = £4400 p/a Performance is a big issue for me, so i dont want something that is gonna be slow!
  18. Hey all... Im car hunting at the moment for a daily driver. Im going to be doing 25k a year in my new role at work, so need something with as high MPG as possible, but it's also gotta be quick, and as cool as possible (which is subjective, i know) I've been trawling through autotrader and parkers trying to narrow down what car to get, but its painstakingly slow going into every vehicle make and model to get the MPG figures... So has anyone ever come across a list of cars and their respective MPG figures?
  19. Man, im jealous... I used to box and train religiously, until a spinal injury in 2008 from football. Now i struggle to walk, and cant do anything like this anymore. ...i started cycling about 8 weeks ago which seems to be helping - but its really sloooow progress... i just want to be able to do this sort of thing again!!
