  3. It was mentioned on our table, and I thought you and Colin picked up on it
  4. I am still keeping my 350z (going to make it a true track car now) - but have finally decided to take the plunge..... and get a ........ new car........ GT-R Enhanced (2011) - deposit going down in the morning - I was going to wait and try and get an Ex-Dem to save on the VAT - but I am too impatient!
  5. happened to me a while back - turned out to be a dodgy switch - move switch back and forward several times (quickly and hard) and it might clear (did for me) - I replaced switch in the end though
  6. by pulling away do you mean litterlaly from stand still use 4th as first and see if it stalls ? also whats the going rate for fitting ? Yep - from stand-still stick in 4th and give it plenty of revs (so it doesn't stall)- release clutch gently - if the cars starts to move forward clutch is okay, if you hear it slip then clutch is on its way out. I had my last clutch fitted for £120 but that was mates rates - should be about £200 inc fly-wheel fitting depending on where you go etc
  7. Doesn't sound like the clutch to me (with the slip light coming on?) If that's your first clutch at that mileage then you have done bloody well!!!! Try pulling away from stationary in 4th gear - if the clutch slips then its a sure sign its on its on its way out.
  8. Should the UK adopt The Euro? A cross-section survey of 1000 people in Bradford, made up of Afghans, Albanians, Pakistanis, Zimbabweans, Iraqis, Somalis, Bosnians, Turks, Moldavians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Bangladeshis, Ethiopians, Russians, Congolese, Portuguese, Poles and Nigerians were asked if they thought Britain should change its currency to Euro. 99.9% said no, they were happy with the Giro.
  9. You in Herne Bay Simon - has your dad also got a GM 350z?
  10. subscribed...will be watching this thread closely -
  11. btw Bob - I have decided on the C-West now - so you wont be so exclusive!
  12. another option would be to connect a relay to the courtesy light circuit purely for 'switching' and then have a totally separate power feed for the new lights
  13. Desktops have a jumper which you change after taking the small battery out, not many laptops have this. This sounds more like a power supply or a motherboard issue I'm affraid - laptop PSU's are a pain to replace and not cheap Edit for clarity - I am not referring to the external 240v PSU, rather the internal 12-19v unit, which is normally soldered to the motherboard. However there could also be a fault with the external one - have you tried booting from internal battery only?
  14. Put RAM back in and boot holding down the DELETE key (on it might be F2 or that laptop) - this should take you into the system BIOS where you can do things like change the boot order etc - if you cant get into this then the problem is pretty terminal I'm affraid! (and not the HD) Are you getting anything on the screen at all?
  15. If you cant even get into the BIOS it probably isnt the hard disk thats failed - more likey bad seated memory or a processor error
  16. Thanks Alex and Mark. I wasnt planning on doing coilovers till xmas time, which means a couple of months running my new rears on a bad setup. I cant believe how badly worn the inside of the tyre was (and they had only been on there 3 months!)- the camber must be way out - I was hoping there was something I could to in the interim. edit - they were already worn when I fitted, but evenly etc
  17. I have just replaced the two rear tyres which both had even tread left in the middle, however the offside tyre was almost bald on the inner edge (yet the near side was only part worn on the inside edge). On closer inspection, the offside wheel has a much bigger camber angle than the nearside. So my question is - how much camber adjustment is available on stock (without having to get camber arms). How easy/difficult is it to make any adjustments? (I dont want to do full geometry yet as I am getting new coilovers in the next few weeks - but with near tyres on I just need to adjust camber in the short term) Thanks, David
  18. good find Vik and thanks for pm'ing it around (bless, she was scared to post it in public!)
