  2. A friend of mine has landed herself in a spot of bother and I have said I will try and help. However I am not clued up enough, so am asking for your help. If there is anyone here that can advise on CRB please PM me. Thanks, David.
  3. does it come with a free pint of Guinness?...I'll get my coat...
  4. When I looked into this last year, there was only the Blatz and Consult software that was compatible with our car and normal OBD2 software didn't work - however I am not familiar with 'torque' app so cant comment. Tricky-Rickey and Hynder have looked into this and hope they can comment/confirm.
  5. Cookbot - I will be very impressed if you can get this to work - personally I dont think it will under Android and on a Tablet. What front end will you use????? What software are you thinking of using for OBD2??? I know Dave's system works well (Nurrish) - but I cant help but feel its limited I apologise for being so sceptical, but I spent a long time researching this, and came to the conclusion that to make this viable it needed to run on a PC/Windows - I looked at Linux, Android etc etc but it was only on windows that everything 'gelled' together My opinion only...
  6. You had enough over the weekend sick note ? - Damn Facebook!!!
  7. You will need to regulate power - crank voltage will most likely blow the unit - I have a Carnetix DC-DC regulator
  8. I was quoted £195 just for rear window and quarterlights
  9. What front end will you be using? I think you might be limiting yourself using Android as most front ends/satnav/diagnostic software wont run on it - just my opinion etc HKS system is too expensive for what you get - have a look at http://www.blazt.biz/ Good luck! I really enjoyed building my CarPC (viewtopic.php?f=27&t=40282&hilit=project+zac)
  10. thanks Husky - I am doing this weekend so your timing is impeccable !

  14. Given that Peugeot themselves only ever claimed a top speed of 143mph, I'd agree with you 150mph on the speedo perhaps, but I shudder to think of the length of road you'd need to get to that figure. yeh but i was wiv my m8s an there was 5 ov us, and we all saw it. u calling me a liar blud? Can someone translate please - cant speak chav... blud...
  15. The inbuilt one in centrafuse, or you can use the centrafuse palmpilot emulator to run tomtom fairly easily (apparently...not actually tried) The Centrafuse one is pants apparently! TomTom under emulation is too slow - I did find an excellent product though called Sygic Fleet. send me a pm for details
  16. sorry if repost... http://blogs.wsj.com/tech-europe/2011/0 ... ng-bullet/ "Formula 1 is seen as the apogee of engineering excellence and automotive power. So it says something that in Bloodhound SSC — the car that, if all goes well, in 2013 will shatter the current land speed record — the Cosworth Formula 1 engine is just the fuel pump. “We are creating the ultimate car; we’re going where no-one has gone before,†said Richard Noble, the project director. The car, which Mr. Noble says takes £10,000 a day just to keep it ticking over, will be powered by not one, but two other engines. The smaller one, the EJ200, is normally found in the British Royal Air Force’s Typhoon jet. Its job is to get the 13.4 meter long car up to 350 miles per hour. That’s when the big one kicks in. The big one is the 18-inch diameter, 12-foot-long Falcon rocket, the largest of its kind ever made in the U.K. Its job is to catapult the car through the sound barrier to its maximum speed of 1,050 mph. That is, literally, faster than a speeding bullet. To get there, the Cosworth CA2010 engine has to inject one ton of fuel into the rocket within 20 seconds. That’s why you need an F1 engine as a fuel pump. Cosworth is also providing the rocket control system which will manage the ignition, fuel supply and shutdown of the Falcon rocket. The Northampton-based company is also providing the telemetric system. The triumvirate of power together form the most powerful land vehicle ever built. Wing Commander Andy Green will pilot the car as it speeds across the Hakskeen Pan, Northern Cape, in South Africa in 2013. If successful, Bloodhound will not only shatter the current land speed record — held by Wing Cmdr. Green in Thrust SSC and standing at 763.035 mph — but given the altitude of the Hakskeen Pan, around 3,000 feet, it will also exceed the official air speed record at low altitude (which stands at 994 mph). Bloodhound is not just about shattering records, says Mr. Noble: “The primary objective of Bloodhound is to inspire the next generation to pursue careers in science and engineering.â€
  17. Thanks John - as I was typing post I kinda realised that myself... To make things worse, I have tyre mix as well - the Bridgestones you sold me with wheels on front, and new Falkens on rear... Gotta feeling this is gonna be expensive to sort out if I do rotors/pads/tyres at same time
  18. MOT due soon, and last year I had an advisory on front disks, which are still original OEM. Suffice to say I need to replace and EBC Ultimax grooved looks like a good option on a budget - will also replace pads with either Ferodo or yellow stuff. My question is, will it be okay to have different rotors and pads on front than existing OEM on rear, or do I need to do all four corners at once?
