And how much is a Nissan dealer going to give you for a Q60 in 3 years time? PCP deals need manufacture/dealers to support the GFV, otherwise they might as well by HP deals. No Nissan dealer is going to put their own money down to support any Infiniti PCP deal. With a current APR of 5% for standard loans, £35k over 3 years is £1000/month. Is anyone seriously going to pay £1k/month on a car brand which is going to be nonexistent in the UK within 12 month? If your actually seriously interested by buying I have no idea why your getting angry, go and offer £25k for Q60 been advertised for £35k, I think you might be surprised how receptive the dealer might be to the low ball offer.....Its a buyers market in situations like this, awful news for dealers but great news for for consumers.

Given how these things seem to be sitting forever at the dealers I recon if you walked in with a cash offer of £25K your get a call back by the end of the week to meet you half way.....say no that, and the final price wouldn't be much over £25k. Most cars are sold on finance, but which finance company is going to back a PCP deal on a dead end product with no dealership support? £25K might be way below asking price, but thats £25K in the bank versus a product they might not ever get a buyer for. If your serious make an offer, whats the worst that can happen?

Whilst looking at some UK mortality data (as you do :)),I recon median age of death in the UK will hit 90 pretty soon. If you are lucky enough to retire before 40, you literally have most of your life still to live!! Bare in mind the first 20 years of your life is just learning how to live, that's an awful lot of free time! Sound like your enjoying the free time, but 50 years ahead with no commitments....time to start a business, or may be three :).

Depending on how brave you are I quite like the look of the new Q60T, 400bhp, sub 5 second to 60, loads of tech. £37K currently as ex-demo, I recon if you offered £30K cash the dealers would struggle to say no, may be even £25k.....But than would you really want a brand new car with no proper manufacture support? Not sure where it all went wrong, when I was looking to replace the 350Z I looked at Infiniti, but the product range just couldn't stand up to what the BMW/Audi had on offer. I suppose that was a sign, if Infiniti couldn't persuade a long term 350Z owner their cars were the natural next step up than who could they persuade. I hope they do come back to the UK at some point though.

If you ignore this the rubbish range of this Honda EV other EVs are already at this point. Tesla have stopped increasing the size of the battery packs, VAG have now announced half a dozen products all using a battery pack at around 90kWh. Their pricing is all nearly identical, Jaguar/Tesla/Audi/Merc all will sell you a 'premium' EV for £60-80k. The Taycan is due out later this year, I suspect pricing will be around £80k, again is a 120 mile range Honda worth nearly 50% of the latest/newest Porsche?? The Honda EV looks great, but they are having a laugh at anything close to £40k pricing, with the specs it's a £20-25k car. Oh and don't touch a sub £10k 2015 Leaf, they are sold with a lifetime rental agreement on the battery. Effectively you dont own the battery but have to pay Nissan about £70/month forever. The cheapest battery owned Leaf is about £12k, so about 50% deprecation at 4 years, which is actually pretty good for a mass produced Nissan hatchback.

So your saying you would pay £40k for this Honda EV with 120 miles of range even though for the same price your be able to get a AWD Long Range Model 3 that does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and an EPA rated range of 310 miles?? Great, I look forward to your review of the Honda :).

Have you seen what Nissan Leaf prices are doing at present??!! They essentially haven't gone done in the last 18 months, infact WBAC is increasing their offer for used Leafs. The reason prices crashed in 2015/16 was because Nissan flooded the market with cheap lease/PCP deals, which have now stopped. Lightly used Kona EV are currently selling at above list price.

100% relevant. The $35K 220 miles EPA range Model 3 is the bar set very very high for every other EV on the market. You cannot seriously tell me you some one looking at a small EV will be happy to pay nearly £40K for this Honda EV with half the range of a £30K Model 3?? Competition is great for us consumers, the more EVs the come the quicker prices will fall.

For a company who sold a bunch of hand built cars in 2009, to now challenging Toyota for the highest selling car/truck in just a decade.....I would say that's pretty good going which ever way you look at it :). Meanwhile Honda wants to sell you a £30k hatchback with half the range, and available some in 2020.

I don't think your need to wait till 2020, by Q2 it'll be at the top, than just a case of how quickly Tesla can chuck the cars out. The headline $35k Model 3 price is before any incentives. In the US this varies from state to state, but essentially in some parts of the US $22-26k is enough to get you into a Model 3. A base spec Toyota Corolla is $19k, the Model 3 even in base spec does 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds. Why would you buy a Corolla? Model 3 will be about £31k for 220 miles EPA rated range, and £38k for 330 miles. I really hope the Honda will have alot more range than the quoted 'upto 120 miles', that's about the same as my old 2015 Leaf. If Honda is going to stick to just 120 miles of range (100 miles real life max) than I cannot see anyone paying more than £20k for one.

Not quite in the UK. $35k Model 3 starts US deliveries next month, after incentives the price in the US is as low as $27k. 220 EPA rated real life miles, 0-60 5.6 seconds, RWD, ok boot. It's almost given the Model 3 in the US is going to end up the best selling car in 2019, it's likely to virtually kill off BMW 3 series sales, which is already floundering this year even before the $35k Model 3. Sadly we wouldn't see the cheap Model 3 for another 12 month. But come 2020 there is going to be whole selection of EVs with 200miles+ range at the £30k mark. Add in BIK tax rates for EVs plummeting in 2020, next year will be when EV sales in the UK should really take off.

Watched the news last night, it seems Brexit is not that important any more to anyone - apart from the usual government money wasting. Sounds like there will be a 'temporary' delay voted in soon. I wonder if this delay will end up like the 'temporary' increase in VAT to 20%, or the national speed limit which was only suppose to last 4 months :).

For the first time in nearly 3 years I was able to go to the Cinema last weekend. Happened to be a Vue, the show we went to see 'Hey Duggee' at the Cinema. I can tell you a bunch of 2-3 years old doesn't quite appreciate the Vue sound demo as some of you guys here :).

You would be a nervous wreck in my current car . I've been driving around in cars with digital screens instead of analogue dials coming up to 4 years and 55k. I really wouldn't worry about reliability of the displays. I've rarely if ever heard of dash displays failing, LCD is really reliable tech, I still my old Apple Cinema display that was bought in 2004 at work every day!! Haven't personally tried the Audi implementation but all the reviews look good. Once you live with a good digital dash I don't think you would want to go back to analogue

Yeah am pretty sure every single car dealer are breaking the law on this point. When we were shopping around for my wife car, Lexus Leicester actually crossed out the APR bit on the finance print out - YES, I watched they do it with a black marker as the paper came out of the printer!!! When I asked them why they did this, I was told 'The number is wrong', and that they couldn't tell me the APR??!! I than told them could I have the paper so I could go home and calculate the APR, the answer was, no, because I would calculate it wrong, but they would be happy for me to sign it there and than to secure the deal on the car??! This is on a £40K list price car, from a well established main dealer selling a 'premium' brand, and dealing with customers are clearly wise to the world (otherwise known as old ). I cannot imagine the lies people are been told about PCP just to get the signature on the dotted line.

Don't go down the PCP route on a used car!!! I did on my Z over a decade ago when I was young and naive, still get shivers when I think how much more £££ it cost me versus just getting a loan/cash. Personal loans are pretty cheap at the moment 3% on £20k, no reason to pay more on PCP.

Nissan just announced the next Leaf, 230 miles EPA range from 62kWh battery, 160KW motor - bare in mind EV motors have vritually no transmission power loss, UK prices seem to be £37k after the EV grant. https://insideevs.com/nissan-reveals-leaf-e-plus-ces/ If Nissan was feeling really brave they would put a much more aero coupe body on the drivetrain - which will enable 250mile+ EPA range. Make it AWD with over 400bhp WHP, put in some proper battery cooling and put a sticker price of £50-55k, so undercutting the iPace and top spec Model 3. Stick on an Infiniti badge if they think that would help....but it would take some bravery to introduce such a car on the brinks of a global turn down. Still I suspect it will sell far better than the current 370z and GTR combined, need for extra childs seat excluded I would buy one.

Selling rebranded A Class Mercs isn't exactly working though. It took Infiniti 4 month in 2018 to sell just 1000 of them across the whole of Europe. Mercedes sold 10k A classes a month in Europe, every month. Infiniti needs a urgent total change in direction, Jaguar have seen the need to move to EVs ASAP, the iPace is already accounting for 90% of all Jaguar sales in some EU markets. The longer Infiniti waits to shift to EVs the less chance they have of becoming an established volume brand in Europe. But am not sure they have the R&D money.

I should have been the perfect customer for Infiniti. Long history of owing Nissans, was looking to move away from BMW at the time. Back in 2014/15 it was hinted Infiniti had a potential Tesla Model S rival in development using a 64kWh battery pack - which Nissan even did a tech demo off. But some one at senior management level must have lost their nerve at the thought of trying to sell a very expensive EV when all the Germans were still pushing diesels and cancelled the project - a decision which I still don't understand. Had dieselgate hit the headlines in 2014 rather than 2015 I suspect I might be driving an EV Infiniti now rather than a Tesla. Infiniti are due to show some random EV prototype but they are now very behind the competition. The Leaf drivetrain needs a complete redesign to compete with what Kia/Hyundai are now coming out in the EV market. Jaguar, Audi, Merc are all already here with their premium EVs. I would love go get an Infiniti branded EV as our next car to replace my wifes Lexus, as at heart I still remeber founly the £500 Nissan Micra which was my first car. But at the current moment I recon Infiniti are 5 years behind the competition for EVs. I just cannot see Infiniti having a product to rival the Audi, Tesla, Merc on the EV front in 2021. Not unless Infiniti throws some serious cash into R&D. A rebranded Leaf will simply not be good enough in the developing EV market. Sadly it looks like Infiniti will end up just selling rebranded Mercs, but why would you not just buy the Merc in the first place rather than one with a posh Datsun badge on?? Good luck to Infiniti, I hope they do come up with a product that will sell.

The previous owners of our current house fitted a 4KW solar PV setup. This summer we generated more electricity than we use in a whole year excluding charging the car - on top we get paid 14p per kWh for every kWh generated. Even this week I'm seeing 10-20kWh generated on a non cloudy day, thats enough for our use including charging the car. Next year we'll be getting a battery storage system, so in the summer we'll be nearly 'off grid' even with charging the car. In winter we'll be able to time shift our entire electrical demand to cheap off peak electricty. When the roof needs doing I'll 100% be looking into more solar PV capacity. Shame small wind turbines need planning permission, as with a big enough solar PV setup and microturbine I reckon we go even shift some gas heating use to eletric heat pumps - But that does have a massive initial cost, and the boiler is barely 3 years old so makes no sense at all to replace. Prices of solar PV will come down, as will battery storage. Just like a flushing toilet, central heating solar PV/home battery setups will become the norm so some point. Actual EV use for getting from A to B not even worth disscussing. 40K now covered in EVs since 2015, just come back from a 890 mile family road trip to France in the EV. It was so easy next year we're aiming for lake Como.

That looks old, but essentially x2 RCD safety switches with x2 10amp fuses? These things trip to protect the device and the person. Might be something wrong with the actual generator or breaker, I doubt the fuse has tripped. If you cannot find a replacement I would get a decent electrican to look at that, its nots something you want to mess around with your self if you don't know what your doing. Even 10amps at a sustained load is enough to start a fire if there is a fault some where, and I suspect you woudlnt want to be around to see the results of an eletric fire on a petrol generator!!
