  1. Ive have defiantly told them to call me before they do anything major....so hopefully things wouldn't be too bad I use to use independent garages, but with the Z I just wasn't too sure...i know getting things done at the Stealers isnt a guarantee of good work (My local Honda dealer once rebuilt the gearbox for my Integra R but than "forgot" to seal the outer casing properly ) But at least if things go belly up your more likely to get it sorted??
  2. Just dropped the Z off at the dealers to have a rear brake squeak+geometry looked at....wasn't in for more than 60sec before they started going on about "extra" costs that might be incurred if theres actually a problem...looks like my wallets going to be lighter at the end of the day on the brighter note I have to say Black is defiantly the Zs best color...especially when compared to the two red and silver Zs they had in the forecourt
  3. My first car was a Nissan £500 1.0 Gold(rusted) Micra....had to scrap it after i tired to get it upto 60 mph on the M1...still the scariest thing ive ever done in a car
  4. Just spent £60 on petrol this weekend....mods are great but theres nothing better than a been on a quite country road on a sunny Sunday morning
  5. ...and once you've saved £30K invest it in something which is guaranteed to loose money and have you visiting your local petrol fore court on a regular basis ...hehe but since your buying a Z, common sense goes out of the window
  6. That would be my worst nightmare....infact just been scaring my self by looking through all the Nurburgring crashes on utube...defiantly will be taking it easy
  7. Just after a little advice...am planning on taking the Z to the ring some time in the next few months (along with a few mates in S2000s ) 1: Which route to take? eg: hop over the channel than through France or get an overnight ferry which will land us much closer 2: Do I need to prep the Z at all, it'll be due a major service after the trip...currently still plenty of tread on the tyres, and not used any oil in the last 6months. 3: What happens if get caught speeding?? Keep on reading horror stories about the French police just waiting to sting people like me 4: Any idea how much it'll cost? This is my first trip abroad in the Z so am planning to keep it short and cheerful
  8. Having now owned the Z for the last 6 months or so i am really starting to miss not been to squeeze two extra people in the back when the need arises (about once a week at the moment) If money was no object than ill have GTR to replace the Z, but realistically cant wait for the Infiniti G37 coupe to go on sale here next year...with a nice spoiler and in black it'll look (IMO)
  9. initially than .... some time later
  10. 1.0 rust colored Nissan Micra, couldn't do more than 50mph...remember taking it onto the motorway once, and was been overtaken by all the HGV's!!! That was a scary experience But actually loved it, ended up killing it after understeering into a hedge
  11. I seem to get quite a lot of attention in the Z, but its all good through. Lost count the number of times people have pulled up to me at the traffic lights to simply to say "Nice car". Was a bit taken back at first, cos in my old Type-R they always wanted to race Infact i find it a bit strange the Z seems to appeal to every one, school kids, the Saxo driving crowd, even retired people seem to love it!! I doubt the same could be said for a boxster or beemer
  12. 25 this year, still rember my first car well a £400 micra that struggled to go over 60mph Just also bought a house so the Z will be staying for a few years, but hopefully by than ill be in a position to get a GTR...hopefully
  13. I consider my self lucky to be able to afford the Z at 26 (i was driving a 1.1 106 at 21 ) Am normally quite good with money but when it comes to cars i just accept the fact i am going to lose £££ so budget accordingly (unless your a dealer ) I really am not bothered about what cars are coming out in 2 years time cos theres more important things in life to worry about just enjoy the Z, and when you feel its time to move on.....move on
  14. I would if i can work out how to stop my self from driving it everytime i leave the house
  15. I been without my Teg for a few weeks now...to be honest i think the Teg was always just a little bit too raw for me though i really do think Honda will never make a more focused sports car. It took me a while to find a suitable replacement for the Teg...looked at DC5s, evos/scooby, RX-8, S2000, vx220s but eventually ended up with a 350Z In terms of performance the Z is in a different league to the Teg, the 3.5V6 is simply so smooth the Z will comfortably cruise_at 130+ all day long (on private roads ofcourse). As a GT car the Z is amazing, heated leather seats, climate control, a massive stereo, 80liter tank...infact every time i get into the Z i always end up taking the scenic route Unlike the Teg, the Z doesn't like to be pushed too hard (or it could be cos am a rubbish driver ) In the Teg i would regularlly hit the rev limiter in 2nd gear along a certain stretch of road, i did the same stretch today in the Z, at a similar pace, and didnt have to take it out of 5th:!: ...ofcouse that was part of the attraction with the Teg... Under heavy braking, and mid corner you do occassional "feel" the weight of the Z. But actually i find this quite reassuring cos you can really "feel" when the back ends about to go...and for the times when you dont feel the back go, the ESP kicks in (S2000 could do with this). If I was ever to buy a track day car it'll probably be another Teg or a Lotus elise type thing, but as an everyday car the Z is almost perfect. I think ill be holding on to my Z for a long time...after all you can spend alot more money on a porsche and still get less performance, more expensive running costs, and worse reliability Oh yeah the Z doesnt look too bad either...
  16. Changed from my Integra R to a Z 2 weeks ago. Unfortunatly due to work (and crappy weather) ive been mainly using the Z for communting. Finally had some free time yesterday and took the Z for a quick spin around some local roads...and now i have a problem...i just cant stop driving the Z. Ive already been out 4 times today in the Z to post a letter, buy some milk, buy the latest copy of EVO, and get some petrol Now its nearly 11pm iam looking at my Z and thinking i really dont like the way ive parked it, so i better go and drive it around the block to find a better space Did anyone else have this problem when they got their Z?? Good thing am back to work tommorrow for the next 10 days
  17. Your also want to open up the gorgeous V6 at every oppurtunity...which equals to about 15MPG But if you think you can find the money get one....completly different league from the Teg
  18. Signed all the paper work for my 05, black 350Z today Had previously tested S2000s and RX8, but the Z just blew both of them out of the water....I think the salesman knew i was going to buy the car so didnt budge on the price But even so I think ive finally found a car which i wouldnt get borred with in 6months Will post some pics ASAP....isnt there a super charger kit available hehe only kiding i think i need to learn to drive a RWD car first, especially after ive been use to my FWD Integra Type R benignly understeering when i over cook it
