  1. +1 Been driving my otherhalfs Civic Diesel to work for the last few days since my Z is with CS having some parts fitted, everything is so much slower and softer....really make me appericate the Z much more. I think after only driving the Z day in and day out for over 3 years I forgotten just how good it really is Though actullay the Engine on the Civic isn't too shabby, it rated at 240 ib/Troque nearly the same as the Z, its trying to get it to go round the roundabouts i'm having problems with
  2. I use to have a Integra R (DC-2). When I first test drove the Z I wasn't too impressed with how fast it felt. I think it's really to do with how much more refined the Z is compared to the Hondas'. Believe me the Z is not slow, it's quite easy to be doing close to 100 without realising, were as in the Integra anything over 50 meant I couldn't hear my stereo over the noise of the engine On a day to day basis the Z is much nicer to live with, you can pooter around town in 3rd gear all day long and never need to go over 2500RPm. May be I'm just old but I was actually glad to see my Type R go , for weekends it was amazing but I think the fact I spent most of time with the Type R been stuck in motorway traffic jams with no air-con meant I really fell out of love with it. The Z on the other hand I'm enjoying more and more, ive had it for a few years now, and have only just started modding it (I blame CS ) For the money I think you struggle to find another car with the such a good balance of performance, handling, styling. If you do decide to go with the Z you wouldn't be disappointed, it takes a few weeks to get use to driving a car with torque but after that you wouldn't look back
  3. My best mate bought a Bright Red S2000 with massive 20'' Rims the same time i got my Z....still cannot believe how much noise a VTEC engine makes at 9K RPM, and it does look good with the hood down on a sunny day, I dont think he'll ever get tired of girls coming up to him asking about it Still I can out drag him every time in the Z, and i've yet to spin my Z on a public roundabout at 20mph Two very different cars, even though both are 2 seater, front engined, rear wheel drive sports car, am your enjoy the S2000
  4. Was driving home yesterday not really paying much attention to whats going on, and than i noticed what i was following.....i was tempted to pull up next to the driver and ask about how it handled, but when the lights turned green he/she simply left me for dead....I have to say i think it'll be a long time before i see another one
  5. My exhaust failed pretty much without warning, use to get mine serviced at a Nissian dealer and never had any advisory note about the exhaust. When I finally took it to CS for a new exhaust the amount of rust around the original exhaust was pretty alarming, infact it had to sawn off, i was just glad the guys at CS knew what whey were doing I look at S20004U when i was looking for a S2000 (before i realised the Z was much better!), was tempted by the prices but than came across some bad press about them on the Honda forums so never went...but hopefully there's not too much wrong with your Z, S20004U has been around for a while now (at least the last 4 years) so they must get it right some times
  6. I wondered if some one with a Nismo front wing (v1) and side skirts fitted could tell me how much ground clearance they have on standard Rays and suspension I'm on the edge of getting the Nismo kit fitted but realised i've got some pretty bad speed bumps around my house
  7. I've been with Admiral with nearly 6 years, and they don't really seem to mind that much about mods, my premium went up about £30 too:-) On the other hand when I had an accident I got a 1.0 Honda Jazz as an courtesy car, having read about people getting Audi TTs as courtesy cars if it happens again will see if they can do better:-p
  8. I use to have a Integra Type R, and test drove several S2000 before i ended up with my Z....though they are both RWD 2 seater sports cars they give two different driving experiences. I have to admit i do miss the mad Honda VTEC engines, use to love sitting at 6K RPM in 2nd gear and than hitting the VTEC powerband all the up to 9K RPM and it only now that ive changed the exhaust and put a Pop charger on the Z its starting to sound as good as a 1.8L Honda VTEC engine at 9K RPM But at the same time I think its the reason why i didn't end up buying a S2000, because i was a bit fedup of having to change down every time i wanted to overtake some one , and even though right on the limit the Type R and the S2000 were both more fun and responsive than the Z, for everyday driving I wanted something more comfortable and easier to live with (basically i was been a wuss, and getting old) I've now had the Z for 3 years (longest i owned anycar) and still love it, been able to pull away in 2/3rd gear, been able to hear the stereo on the motorway, not having to worry about how much oil the engine has used....all those things may not sound like "fun" reasons to keep a car but they are add up, and that's why i don't see my self selling the Z for a Long time yet (well until i saved up enough for a RS4)....oh I forgot to mention every time i run into my mate with his S2000 i can still easily out drag him, whilst having my bum is been kept warm by the heated leather seats
  9. I thought i was been a wimp the other day driving every where in 1st gear and not going over 10mph, and generally irritating all the people following me Glad now i didn't even try getting into 2nd gear One of my neighbors got his RX-8 stuck on a speed bump the same day, we all tried pushing it but in the end had to get a 10 year old Vectra to tow it into his drive way Will be glad when it finally warms up...even though the snow does make everything look pretty
  10. When i was shopping for my Z, the salesman tried to get me to test drive a Munaro when i complained that the Z only had 2 seats..i think i was 24 at the time
  11. Just want to say thanks to CS for sorting out the service this weekend. Had a P1 service, Yellow stuff pads and EBC discs all round, and a PopCharger fitted...all sorted whilst i was out doing the xmas shopping For anyone around Leicester needing work done on their Z, cannot recommend Mitz and Andy at CS highly enough
  12. I've had my Scorpion exhaust fitted by CS a few weeks ago, no complaints. Not overly loud (from the inside anyways), and actually not to different from stock when driving on the motor-way (from the inside), however from the outside it sounds much better I got mine changed cos my old exhaust failed the MOT, and i didn't want to spend some £700 on a stock exhaust from Nissan. No doubt the Nismo sounds better but its nearly three times the price of the Scorpion. Only problem now is that the front brake pads needs doing soon, and am thinking maybe i should upgrade from the OEM pads..come to think of it may be discs too, and the pop charger...
  13. Had my Scorpion exhaust fitted by the guys at CS today!! Been out driving most of the afternoon rather than catching up on some sleep, car sounds so much better at higher revs Great job guys, will defiantly be in touch when the next serivce is due
  14. Have been considering swapping the Z for something with 4 seats for a while..a Lexus IS-F or a BMW M5 have been on a list, but this weekend picked up EVO and saw this thing, the more i read about it the better it sounds....and its only £25K brand new!!! Going to go and vist my local ford dealer to book a test drive ASAP....oh and maybe pop into JJB sports the way back to pick up a base ball cap and tracksuit bottoms before heading off to the local McDonalds for some grub
  15. Gave my Z a well needed wash and polish yesterday...have to say she's aged well in 4 years of constant commuting, especially given my lack of garage :-)
  16. wind down the window and go every where in 2nd gear
  17. My other half's on the hunt for a new car, budget is around £15K.. unfortunately she wants a diesel...however the last diesel i drove was a clapped out 306, and it didn't leave me with the greatest impression Any one got any suggestions....has to be newish and practical (to keep her happy), and preferably good to drive (mainly to keep me happy )
  18. Yes it does. More revs but on two wheels! I wish i was mad enough to get a bike license, had a go on a 123cc once..and that was scary enough (in a fun way!!) Some guy who lives near me seems to like riding his R1 without a helmet when ever the sun is out (like today)
  19. Had one of these before the Z Probably still the most exciting thing i've driven, came across one in my Z the other day and it bought back found memories (still amazed how a 1.8L engine can make so much noise ) ...but no aircon or stereo as standard hence the reason i swapped it for the Z... Looking at moving on to a M5 soon....got to love the way they are depreciating at the moment
  20. People keep on telling me i should trade in the Z for something abit more practical with 4 seats, but given the current prices i have the perfect excuse to hang on to the Z for a good while longer...such a shame
  21. LoL now i can understand why my insurance company wouldn't cover me for going to the 'Ring.. Just out of interest how much did the whole trip cost...Been meaning to go soon but the sensible side of brain keeps on reminding me I've also got a mortgage to pay off
  22. Just been reading about how amazing the new R35 GTR is in EVO...promptly went on to pistonheads, just to have a quick loook and i've noticed the R34 GTR prices have really started to drop...it wouldn't surprise me if one could be had for £20-25K by the time the R35 officially lands in the UK!! Any one know how the R35 compares to the R34, or how the R34 was first reviewed when it first appeared?? (I think i was still in sixth form at that point ) Not many things can tempt me out of my Z, but a R34 GTR for the price of a 350z...
  23. Your love it ...its been nearly a year since I found my Z, and am still learning how to drive her properly
  24. Just got my car back, amazingly i seem to have found a honest stealer!! They took it for a road test, had it on the ramp, had a good look at the calipers/pad/brake hoses....didn't find anything, and now the squeak is gone ...and it was all free of charge - even gave Z the a quick wash I did notice the fuel light is now on...cant remeber how much was in the tank before Will defiantly be going back there for my P3 service
