  1. Lindt ball > Chocolate coin very time.... What a sad world to live in if every Lindt ball became a chocolate coin overnight:(.
  2. https://www.floridatoday.com/story/tech/science/space/2018/02/23/spacex-set-second-falcon-9-rocket-launch-three-days/364353002/ Space X are going launch crazy at the moment, third launch in less than 30 days if you count the Falcon heavy launch. Their ability to use previously used boosters is clearly allowing them to launch at rates not seen before. London to Shanghai is currently 13 hrs in a plane, if Space X can do it in 13 mintues am signing up, oh a view of the Earth from lower orbit would be the main reason though
  3. I know very little about them apart from now probably is too late to see mega returns..... However I do note the drop in the markets right now, if your feeling brave and call it right I suspect you can make some massive gains (or loss it all) in a short amount of time. I've never spend a single penny on the markets but nearly did last night. However remeber we have a mortgage to pay and interest rates are heading up, put an end to any idea of playing on the markets :).
  4. Even Clarkson seems to like the X, given our car is less than half the price of the one he drove but looks the same and with the exception of 0-60 time peform the same, our car almost seem like a bargain:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8ojCe71T-A&sns=em
  5. Z was about 4 years, than the 335i for about 4 years as well, Leaf was temp 2 year savings move to enable the Tesla purchase. Plan is to keep the X till the need for baby seats go....so that depends on when/if a second sprog arrives. SUVs didnt make much sense to me before but these days when my daughter is the car half the time I am I can see why people love them. Just as it happens the bumper to bumper warranty on the Tesla is 4 years, so by 2022 I might be ready to go back to a non monster truck, but we'll see as the X is owned outright and has tiny running costs so we might just end up treating it like a family hack till it dies. Either way am pretty sure by than the choice of EVs will be huge, Infinti has something in the works and it'll be good to go back to a Nissan ).
  6. I had my eye on a XJ supersport to replace my old 335i before going down the EV route....looks like I might get a chance to own a Jag soon http://autoweek.com/article/green-cars/2019-jaguar-xj-will-be-electric-five-door-sedan-report-says
  7. Actually I will be amazed if they can turn a profit for another 5 years. Tesla need at least another two factories and two battery factories. None of that comes free :).
  8. The payload capacity of the Saturn V was 120 tons into lower earth orbit, the Falcon heavy maybe most powerful rocket we have today but its payload is only 64 tons. Its actually a bit sad half a centry on from the first Saturn V launch we have less space faring capability than before even the first Atari was made. I would have loved to have been alive at the time of the Apollo missions, it must have seemed like humantiy was going to end up some where amazing.....instead these days we have endless reality TV programs and X factor
  9. I have a comfy bed to sleep in and food to fed my self with, why aspire to do anything more than wake up, eat, and go to sleep?? I find amazing anyone can not be amazed at what a bunch of people have managed to clobber together in a large warehouse on the wrong side of LA. Its was like watching a epsiode of Thunderbirds but in real life. As for going to Mars, you have to be insane to want to even try as its pretty much a one way ticket, but the same was said for Columbus, Scott, Hillary. Looking at the moon-set this morning some how it doesn't look that far away (yes I know currently its not) :).
  10. I don't care what you think of Elon Musk but as a self confessed Sci-Fi fan to watch two booster stages 'land' after a flawess launch was just aweason!! Maybe I'll be lucky enough to see man take a first step on Mars https://www.engadget.com/2018/02/06/spacex-successfully-launches-its-falcon-heavy-rocket/
  11. Brillant!! My wife went to Barcelona for a work meeting this Tuesday, she came back today. 5 nights with a 20 month old......I reckon 5 12hr shifts in A&E even in the current NHS winter crisis would have been less stressful . I must be bonkers as we are thinking about a 2nd one at some point soon.
  12. Surely it all depends on personal circumstances. Never saw the point of massive 7 seater SUVs before, but now that we have a sproggling, and nearly everyweekend we have 4 adults + kids in the car I cannot see us not having a SUV till my daughter is leaving home. The current crop of high powered SUV can pretty much do it, loads of pace, safe, can lug around the whole extended family.......and of course our 2.5 ton sub 5 second to 60mph, 6 seater SUV costs <£10 in fuel for every 200 miles :).
  13. That's halirous, the organisers probably got worried someone like this was going to enter and make everyone else look a tad slow :).
  14. Try a specialist insurers, with all mods declared including remap to 380bhp my old 335i was barely anymore to insure than my wifes Civic!! It was Greenlight I think, with them for nearly 3 years, even had decent European cover for the roadtrip we did to the Swiss alp. If it hasnt got one fitted get a Quaife LSD installed, out of all the mods i did on the 335i - Suspension, antiroll bars, remap, downpipes, backboxes, intercooler, oil cooler, CIC nav retrofit, the LSD was by far the best.
  15. Am sure your love it, 4WD rally specials aside your find little else on the road as quick .......Though those Golf Rs I hear can be remapped quite easily
  16. Thats because the test mule is essentially a panamera. Porsche are still developing the drive train, once it’s done the body style will be done. Pricing is looking OK too, £70k ish. Never had any interest in the 911 but this thing might tempt me. Sadly will depend on good a family wagon it is first...... Also looks like a RWD version is planned, strip out the interior and might even make it a fun track car. https://electrek.co/2017/12/28/porsche-mission-e-price-performance/
  17. Not been an 911 fanboy I had no idea its been 70 years since Porsche made their first car, which I was surprised to learn wasn't a 911 But I couldn't help notice which car Porsche has chosen to line up next to the original....... https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/company/porsche-70-years-sports-car-new-year-reception-anniversary-356-no-1-roadster-ferry-porsche-ferdinand-alexander-porsche-tradition-future-mission-e-oliver-blume-14750.html
  18. Caught up on some episodes. The whole Terran empire thing looks like a bad copy of the orginal series, disappointing to be honest. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror_Universe The Expanse is looking great though, hope S3 continues the same way, much more refreshing than the current ST story.
  19. Not sure the 135/140i are really that different, but I've never driven a 140i. However BMWs are very spec sensitive, pretty much everything is a optional extra, and thought retrofitting is possible much easier to get a car with all the stuff you want. So look through the spec sheets carefully, decide whats important to you. For what's it worth the base sound system in my old 335i was awful, so upgraded speaker is probably number on list if you care at all about sound quality.
  20. The current M2/3/4, 140/340i all are using essentially the same drivetrain as the previous gen 135/335i. Your loss ALOT less in depreciation on a older 135/335 than a £24k 235i.
  21. Got sent this, clearly I spend too long going on about something
  22. First Model 3 deliveries have started for non Tesla/Space X staff. Day one west coast owners with current Tesla (essentially first in line) are now getting their cars RHD deliveries still predicting 2019 so maybe next year this time we'll be able to configure a 3 for my wife - but more likely in autumn/winter 2019. Cannot wait!!! https://youtu.be/6h_zriVw8uc
  23. Don't think a VX220 would work well for the sleep drives I have to take my daughter on!! Must have done nearly 5K miles in the last 12 months going around the B roads in Leicestershire at nap time......She refuses to nap unless its in the car. Cannot complain though, decent excuse for hour long weekend drives :).
