  3. prescience I think has it correct - once you do the plenum spacer, you should do the TPS (throttle position sensor) reset procedure

  8. Tere - yep, you're absolutely correct, and your analogy of the variable vanes that a jet turbine uses are spot on. You always want exhaust diameter, and pipe design that maximizes velocity. The mistake (and its a common one) that people make is they automatically think that this means you need backpressure - if anything, you are aiming to reduce if not eliminate backpressure. The less backpressure the system has, the more velocity there is.
  9. you've got FAR too much time on your hands
  10. We get enquiries all the time from people who want a reliable, consistent, OE quality coilover for the Z, but who don't want to have to spend gobs of cash to get it. Well we've found what we believe to be the best solution out there, and it comes in the form of the Bilstein PSS9. These coilovers are the ideal choice for someone who wants a coilover setup for their car, but who wants to retain the excellent street manners the Z has when new. These coilovers are free of unwanted noises, harshness, and other traits that plague lesser brands. Features a wide dampening adjustment span (9 clicks total) allowing you to tailor it to suit any road condition. These use an inverted, 46mm piston for the struts with 370 lb springs up front and a progressive rear spring on the rear, ensuring good road manners on even the toughest B roads. In stock and ready to ship for $1750 SHIPPED to the UK! 5 sets in stock now, ready to go!
  11. stunning car! Been contemplating the Porsche route ourselves at the shop, as we've done suspension and wheels for them for awhile, and want to get more into the tuning aspect of them. Soon enough I think, and yours certainly looks fantastic!
  12. Many people confuse backpressure with velocity - no car, no matter FI, or NA, needs, nor wants backpressure. Backpressure creates a funnel effect, and scavenging slows dramatically. What you want are a head, cam and exhaust package that promotes velocity. The high flow cats, and test pipes, on even a stock Z provide very noticeable, immediate gains, especially at the upper end of the rpm spectrum, where the car needs it most. Going the NA route is certainly a bit more involved from a research standpoint. Far more difficult, I think, that going FI. But it can also be very rewarding. Neither route is better, just different. The key to any mod on a Z, or any modern car, is the ecu tuning. All the greatest mods in the world will fall woefully short of their potential if the ecu is not tuned to run them properly. The key to ecu tuning is not the software you use...its the person you take it to to tune. So rather than spending time researching one ecu vs another, devote that time to talking to the tuners in your area. Use what they are comfortable tuning with, and you'll end up with a better, more reliable package every time, and, be able to drop in whenever needed should additional work be needed down the road.
  13. shipping was based on all systems being sent to 1 address, as thats the only way to apply a shipping discount. If they go to separate addressed, then basically the original Club price of $1365 delivered would apply Minimum of 4 people needed to make this happen, maximum of 8 (as thats how many systems we currently have)
  14. How ready are people to pull the trigger? We have enough systems in stock where they could be shipped any day this week basically Normal price is $1365 shippped to most places in the UK Assuming 5 people, and using London (I used Zedrush's postal code) as the airport of delivery, price we can offer is $1298.00 shipped. If the delivery address changes, it might affect pricing slightly as well Adam
  15. if only I could get my car to have 1/10th of that noise ....... I've never heard a bad V12 though
  16. How right you are - the Z community in the states seems to be very flavor of the moment oriented, and not very big picture oriented. Thats probably why my car is the only one to achieve its power goal to date on normal pump gas.
  17. ehhem..that is a 280 ZX I have some good pictures of an FXX being delivered from a couple of years ago. A very good friend is a master tech at a nearby Ferrari dealership, and is sent all over the country quite often with their Challenge car series. The dealership has a client in Florida who took delivery of an FXX and a genuine Schuey F1 car that actually saw real F1 event time...not some practice mule or anything. If interested I can post the pics tomorrow
  18. I think I'm spending too much time with you guys...as soon as I saw "Ayrshire" I recognized the name, that Paul was from there, and, we just got an order from another Z owner from that area as well And to think, I've never even been there yet
  19. thanks mate - I suppose I could ask my powdercoater to take care of it, or, perhaps paint the "body" portion silverstone when we paint my car thanks again
  20. lolol - well now I don't feel quite so bad Cheers for that
  21. Phil - let me know cost to send via EMS to New York (11780), and, any chance for black ones?
  22. In an FI application the Kinetix SSV is good for around an extra 50 ponies -- dyno proven. In an NA, it's good for about 20. The original Kinetix plenum that resembled the stock plenum I believe was the one that was more problematic. Hi Tere - I wouldn't exactly say dyno proven - in some people's cars it shows gains, in some, losses - I've witnessed both, in NA, and FI applications.
  23. very cool site! Sugar Baby Love - The Rubettes - UK Band On The Run - Paul McCartney & Wings - US Devil Gate Drive - Suzi Quatro - Oz Yes, I'm old
