  1. good question - the stock ecu does have a limit of what it can deal with, but it will cope with the basic bolt ons quite well actually. However, some form of tuning, be it a reflash, or a UTEC (as I use) reallly uncorks things even further - I saw an additional 12 whp and about the same ft lbs (at the wheels not the crank) when going from my previously reflashed ecu to a utec. Had I gone from my stock ecu to the utec I would have seen gains in the 20 -25 whp range! I use and HIGHLY recommend the UTEC - it is a fantastic piece, especially for those with the 03-05 non revup cars. For the 05 revup, and 06 cars its a bit more involved, but can still be done. I've not used the F Con IS as of yet, as its only offered in the US to Pro Dealers - I can check into sourcing one, but not sure if it would even come with the software needed to operate due to how HKS limits availity. I have played with the full blown F Con V on a few Z's and it is fantastic, but a different league altogether, in terms of price and ability, from the IS
  2. 8 more NISMO exhausts now ready to go! Just arrived today
  3. My how right you are!! I feel much more in common with the people here than I do with 90% of my350z.com, as well as our own local forum (tsz33.com). Certainly cannot fault anyone for being young - we all were there once, but I know how I acted when I was 18-21, and I know how many of those guys act now, and I feel very little in common with them. Alot of bravado (for no reason at all mind you). I guess it's just a generational or cultural thing perhaps, but I also think it has alot to do with ones life position. At 18-21, many are still in school, not necessarily working full time to support themselves or a family, etc. Your perspective is different than when you're in your late 20's, or 30's, 40;s, have a family, rent/mortgage, no one there to mother you, etc etc. One's attitude (I think) tends to change as life changes. Anyway, I have to say, I love this community - and I look forward to making a trip there at some point to meet everyone face to face! Adam
  4. thanks again Jay, use them well and snap some good pictures!!!
  5. I can't thank Ritchie enough for all his hard work on this...it is a truly awesome piece!! Check our post in the classifieds section for details! Adam
  6. Guys, I cannot express how happy I am to be able to finally offer this to you! This has been over a year in the making!!!! After a LONG time in development, production is finally wrapping up on this awesome replica of the carbon engine cover found on the famed S1 and S2 NISMO motors from Japan. This cover was never made available to the public, and prior to now, was only offered as part of a very expensive complete engine package direct from Japan. Well, that was then and this is now! Through the help of Jay from EvoR, and Ritchie at Equibs, Z1 is pleased to offer this absolutely stunning engine cover! Finished in two tone black and silver carbon, this will dress up your engine bay like nothing else. The cover is finished as you see above - there are no indentations of any kind on the top section for any badge, since we realized that everyone will have their own preference. This keeps the engine cover as a "blank slate", allowing you further customize it in any way you see fit! For those looking for a truly limited edition item, we will also be offering this with a NISMO type badge as shown above. This is a faithful reproduction of the factory NISMO badge, listing the engine type (VQ35), the production facility, and, each one is individually serial numbered. Price will be $324 shipped in the UK for the std. version The badged versions will be sold for $344 shipped, and are limited to 100 units only. Once the 100 are sold, the badged version will no longer be offered. Due to the demand of this item, sorry, we cannot allow any reserving of numbers, etc. You will simply be assigned a number in the order in which your confirmed, paid order is received. Payment can be made via Paypal to z1sales@z1auto.com - please include your telephone # and 350z-uk screen name as well. The first batch of 10 units sold out quick, this is for the second batch, which is late August arrival to us. Shipping to you all would take about 4-5 business days Thanks! Adam

  10. Jamie - does your car have Brembo calipers or std. non Brembo?
  11. Do I believe it? Hard to say...lots of nice parts, but a very odd combination at the same time, and very little details (ie compression ratio, fuel used, etc). I suppose it all depends what type of dyno he is making the claim on. Certainly sounds like a nice motor though.
  12. Agree with the power/weight ratio statement, but that's exclusive to your own car. Like for like (same car, same weight, same driver), even a TT Z with std internals will be quicker than a 300whp NA car both in a straight line and on track, imo. but I do agree that over a certain hp level for our car, the issue becomes traction. again, you would be surprised as the combo of gears and the extra 1500 rpm make for a significant difference. It's not the blow away you would expect and given the right road, its my car that ends out up front
  13. the NISMO pads are also a great choice - very low dust
  14. the bonnet and boot/hatch are replacement items most get Seibon because of price. I personally don't think their hatch fits that well though. the roof will just be a giant sticker - we don't offer this
  15. For brakes, we offer a wide range of items, from OEM Replacement parts, to performance rotors from Powerslot and DBA, and pads ranging from Hawk, Endless, Ferodo and more! We also offer ATE and Motul performance brake fluid, and stainless steel brake lines...even power bleeders to make install a snap!!!! Motive Power Bleeder Powerslot Slotted Rotors - in stock for std caliper and Brembo equipped cars Hawk Performance Pads - we carry the full range from street HPS pads all the way up to the HT70 motorsport compound (as used at LeMans, Sebring, etc etc)
  16. Just a small sampling of what is currently in stock to make your Z handle better and stop more consistently!!! Suspension Cusco Sway bars - same sways I use on my own car. These are solid bars, 2 way adjustable up front, and provide a significant reduction in body roll vs the stock swaybars...plus faster turn in response too! Mates very well with a variety of spring and coilover combos. Priced at $440 for the pair + shipping (contact us for specific shipping costs) Hotchkis Swaybars - another great swaybar setup for those on a bit more of a budget. These sways are hollow, so they weigh less than the Cusco units, but are adjustable front and rear. A great street setup that is suitable for club type track days. Priced at $310 for the set + shipping (contact us for shipping rates) We also have the Hotchkis TVS setup in stock for the Z, which includes their front/rear swaybars as well as lowering springs. These springs provide a mild drop in ride height (19mm) but are just as comfortable as stock! Priced at $475 + shipping for the full setup!. GT Spec Lower Arm Bars - these lower braces connect the front and rear suspension mounts on the subframes together. The front brace takes about an hour to install and rewards you with quicker turn in response, the trar takes about 20 minutes to put in, and makes the back end of the car more predictable under tight turns, or fast sweepers (it's much more willing to bite down and grip, vs the sudden transition from grip to snap oversteer). I have run these 2 bars in my own car for about 2 years now and love them! Priced at $190 for the pair shipped!!! All are made of T6061 aluminum and feature a unique tri wall inner layer for high rigidity, but low weight. Front: Rear: Tein S Tech Springs - one of our favorites!! These springs feature a stiffer rate than stock, that works particularly well on the 2005 + cars (they have revised dampers vs previous years). Provides a mild drop (.7 inches up front, .6 out back) and improve handling, while also remaining very compliant for road use Priced at $285 shipped for the set! Ready to move beyond simple springs and swaybars and get serious about handling? No problem! We've been road racing Z's since the beginning and can work with you to arrange a package suiotable enough for a track day yet compliant for every day use. One of the best dual purpose coilovers out there is the Bilstein PSS9. Not only are these super quiet and comfortable, the ride height and dampening are adjustable, allowing you to tailor it for any situation. dampening adjustment knob (bottom mounted for easy access!) In a word, these coilovers are amazing! Lots of dampening adjustment allowing you to tailor it for a variety of road conditions, but they remain completely comfortable (easily passes the wife/girlfriend test!) Priced for 350ZUK members at $1550 + shipping!!!! SPC Rear alignment kit - as you may know, the rear of the Z does not permit any alignment adjustment. So, when you lower your car, if often can go out of spec, causing camber and toe to be beyond the factory approved levels. This alignment kit from SPC allows you to quickly and easily remedy that problem by featuring an adjustable lateral rod and eccentric toe bolt, giving you full control over rear camber AND toe! A must for track day guys, or street cars that are lowered beyond factory levels Priced at $160 + shipping!!!
  17. We've got a full range of NISMO genuine V1 rear spoilers in stock, ready to go! These are made of durable urethane, and cover existing holes if you have the stock "low" spoiler already installed Doing a bit of picture stealing from Trev-the-Rev, who recently got his spoiler from us Priced at $600 shipped to the UK and Ireland! Payment can be made via Paypal to z1sales@z1auto.com, or via credit card (just give us a call or send a PM to order) Thanks you!!!
  18. We're overrun with parts here!!!!! Unorthodox Racing Crank Pullies - These pullies work by significantly reducing the weight vs the stock crank pulley. These are offered as just the crank pulley alone, as well as full pulley set which includes crank pulley, alternator pulley and power steering pulley. The gains in terms of performance come from the reduction of weight of crank pulley itself; the other 2 accessory pullies are there basically to look pretty A stock crank pulley weighs 6.1 lbs. The Unorthodox pulley weighs just 1.6 lbs in the stock diameter form. The net result of this mod, which takes about an hour to install, is a motor far more willing to rev, with improved throttle response. Suitable for manual and auto cars. These pullies are fully CNC machined, and are far better balanced than even the stock crank pulley is! Finished in a bright polished finish, they really look top notch! The std diameter version (offered in full sets or just the crank pulley alone) can resuse stock belts. The Standard Diameter Crank Pulley alone is $230.00 shipped to the UK and Ireland The Standard Diameter Pulley set (includes crank pulley, alternator pulley and power steering pulley) is $338.00 shipped to the UK and Ireland. These fit all Z's from 2002-2006!!! NISMO Exhaust - by now, most here know we stock alot of these!!! This exhaust consists of a new Y pipe, new mid pipe and new rear muffler section with engraved NISMO logos. These exhaust fit perfectly, as one would expect, sound absolutely heavenly, and are made of full stainless steel with mandrel bent piping. Priced at $1365 shipped to most addresses in the UK and Ireland! (pics courtesy of Max ; ) ) Altered Atmosphere Plenum Spacer: This nifty mod is another easy DIY job for the backyard mechanic. It works on a very simple principal - by equalizing the air volume and velocity into the heads. A stock VQ35 plenum is sloped towards the front of the car. This causes the rear cylinder portions to get a faster rush, and more volume of air than the front cylinders. By fitting this tapered CNC'd plenum spacer, the entire plenum is raised, resulting in more equalized air flow to the heads. An easy bolt on mod that shows consistent gains in the 8-15 hp range. Comes with all necessary hardware, and gaskets and fitting instructions. Fits all 2002-2006 350Z (auto and manual cars) Priced at 350.00 shipped to the UK and Ireland. Or, if ordered with a NISMO exhaust, we can easily fit it in the same box, and the cost is just $265 for the plenum spacer! Injen Cold Air Intakes - one of the best on the market! These kits start with a mandrel bent 3 inch tube that runs to the throttle body, filter with velocity stack, neoprene vibration dampers, CNC'd mounting brackets, and a silicone tube to run into the front bumper. Unlike other intakes, this one can also be used as a short ram if you so desire, simply by removing the silicone bumper tube. The tube is finished in either polished aluminum or black aluminum (polished shown) Priced at $375 shipped to the UK and Ireland Ultimate Racing High Flow Cats: want to add power and sound but in a stealthy way? These are the ideal mod for you! The Ultimate Racing high flow cats are offered in both ceramic and metal versions, and are direct replacements for the factory units. Work with stock and aftermarket exhausts as well. I ran the ceramic ones on my own car for several years, and they prodived a deeper tone, and a noticeable difference in "pull" especially in the mid and top end. Ceramic verisons feature stainless steel construction and ceramic internals: Metallic Versions Contact us for pricing (please include your delivery address) Priced at $600 shipped to the UK and Ireland! Payment can be made via Paypal to z1sales@z1auto.com, or via credit card (just give us a call or send a PM to order) Thanks you!!!
  19. Don't be fooleed by the hp levels people state their FI cars have and expect that to translate into "speed", however you choose to qualify that. Again, I live with these cars every day, and have touched every form of Z mod out there, from a 325 whp Stillen SC'd car, to an HKS S/C'd car, all the way up to 600 + whp twin turbo animals . I've built/driven many 400 whp Z's - single turbo (stock motor), twin turbos (stock motor), supercharged (stock motor) - my car is right there with them in terms of all out pace. My car is not "way slower" my any stretch of the imagination. In a top speed run on the highway? Yes, I am slower than some setups, quicker than others. By alot? All depends what it's up against. But again, I have another car to do that with if I so choose How? Simple - the gearing, the weight, and the ability to rev. None of the FI cars on a stock motor can rev nearly as high as I do (I have another 1000 rpm to play with at present, more if I decide to turn it up), no single turbo or twin turbo car can even do the gears, as they already ahve next to no traction in first gear as it is. The S/C cars (esp the Vortech ones) do the gears and it works great, but all their power is up top...and they still can't rev. Plus, weight is weight...and my car weighs a significant amount less than a similarly equipped FI car. HP tells you a part of the picture - it is 0 indicator of outright "speed" though - the name of the game there is power to weight ratio, coupled with gearing. That's how a std 911 GT3 can run right next to a twin turbo 911 on the road, and part of the reason it will anihilate the TT version on many track days. My overall cost was right around the same as any properly executed Supercharged/FI setup, and less expensive than going twins. Do I get to say I have a FI car? No...but I dind't want one, so I don't much care about that Plus, if I feel like the FI whoosh, I've got 600 whp of Z goodness sitting in the garage in the form of this: It's a Gruppe-M carbon intake (from Japan) - something I treated myself to at the early days of the car...insanely overpriced, but rare, which is why I got it lolol. The stroker motor is being built now. We'll probably have that car done around the fall, as it's a very involved build with all the stuff going into it. The internals are at the machinist now, and will remain there for the next 1-2 months as he works his magic. From there, we'll take it from build shortblock to assembled longblock here at the shop, get the body work, do the suspension work, etc etc. That's a full soup to nuts "crazy" build, unlike mine which was done over time and with less exotic stuff. sl114 - this exact setup with bigger injectors, a return fuel setup and a single turbo kit, like the Turbonetics, would be simple an amazing street car!
  20. no one has been remotely close to 350 at the wheels yet. To date, myself, Ritchie and Jeremy (Florida based guy) have been the only ones to provide proof of 300 + whp. Quick shot of the new engine cover we'll be offering soon!
  21. thanks Digsy - it's alot of McIntosh gear Sorry for the crappy pics We also redid the headliner and sunvisors in black alcantera too Wait till you see this car when it's done...it makes mine look like a piker!
  22. Thanks guys! Yep, could have gone FI a long time ago. We stock the Greddy, Turbonetics kit and supply all the other popular ones from PE, APS, Vortech, etc. But, it's all been done before. There are, dare I say, "alot" of FI people out there in the Z modding world with nowadays, and the one thing I hate is having a "me too" setup. In fact, with all the work I have done, from the body work, to interior, suspension, etc, the one question I get asked everyday is "is it a turbo or supercharged". I love the look on people's faces when I tell them that it's all NA We sought to do something different - to build a car that is first and foremost well balanced, but one that remains civil and reliable for everyday use. I didn't want a dyno queen and I didn't want a show queen - I wanted a car as I envision NISMO themselves should/could have done from the outset. Not only that, but I already own a high hp FI car (an older Z that puts down 594 to the wheels), so I wanted something different this time around, and figured we could make it a learning experience as well, by exploring the VQ engine from the inside out.
