yeah i tried the table salt - didn't have enough. Forgot about dishwasher salt though But i've got a feeling its all in the dishwasher......

I couldn't reverse my car into the garage yesterday because the hard standing was so icy the back wheels just kept spinning. Bit better now but unfortunately wet so it will be horrendous in the morning no doubt.

the bike has gone but he's got a civic type R now (takes after me) still worry about it but 4 wheels better than 2! As for grounding him - I thought it might be easier if I move out without telling him!

Just wanted to say to those that can remember this topic - finally after 6 months of stress and worrying a letter arrived from cumbria police to say that they are taking no further action regarding this. They had told him they were going to persue a prosecution for no insurance and insurance fraud due to having a non road legal akrapovic exhaust system and no restrictor kit fitted on the bike. They said minimum 6-9 points and 1000 fine plus he would lose his job if he had a fraud conviction (working in the prison service). All over now and big relief but just be careful out there with not declaring mods and having non road legal extras! It hasn't been worth the worry! Thanks again to Martin for rescuing the wreckage of the bike and storing it and to other people who gave me advice on the police side of things (you know who you are!)

I agree. Elvington is more for rocket launching and millbrook will be more of an experience.

I know its only the first week in January but this is the funniest thread i've read this year! I can't stop laughing!

As far as I know Elvington in York has the longest run way in the country which is why Hamster off top gear tested that rocket thing there when he crashed. There are regular car events etc on there.
