Nope not a muppet. Its just a long learning process. I am sure everyone who has been around a few years will have made a number of mistakes or bad choices on their systems. You will still be able to complete but it depends on what sort of comps - simple DB output, SQ etc (Not really into the comps any more and don't know the various classes) Even if you don't do well you can use it to learn where the weaknesses are in the system and improve on them. If you are spending proper money (and it sounds like you are) make sure your installers know you want to complete. This way they will make sure they won't cut corners just to save a few quid and they should also get pics etc to help show insulted cables etc etc. I am sure with the system you have its going to sound very nice.

Using some of the M-Audio boards I'm pretty sure you could get outputs up to Head Unit spec

Hmm maybe they have released a new amp recently. AFAIK their main power horse is the 1000/1 which gives out 1000W RMS regulated into 1.5-4Ohm. That would mean your only giving a W7 500W RMS. That said looking at the official specs the 10W7 is rated at 750W rms max. The orion will output a good 2500W rms which is way more. For power you can't beat some of the Directed brands of amps. JL are quality but sometimes braun is better than brains lol

AFAIK its only available in black from the UK companies such as Autoleads / ICT etc. Is it an import (as I thought all UK cars have the black dash)

Have you ever heard a W7 that is properly powered? 2 IMO is going ot be way too much for a car the size of the Z. I would have said you were better off spending more on the amp for the single sub than get another one and then half the output each one is getting. The W7 can eat up way over 1000W RMS. To power 2 your talking some big amps. Which amp did you go for?

More than likey the speakers sounded much better using the Kenwood amp than it would have sounded using the built in BOSE one. They probably tried it with the BOSE one realised how poor it is and tried it direct to the head unit. As said it all comes down to money. Getting a 4 channel is a good recommendation. You could easily get one installed into your glovebox, and put a aftermarket 10" sub into the stock location with it dynamated to seal it up (note this is not the same as building a box but a good start. You could also fibreglass on top of the dynamat to make a very good sealed box ( But this could cause issues if you came to need to do maintenance on the subframe etc.) Looking at the boxes that are available in the US they look like fibreglass copies of the standard box. One option would be to reinforce/seal the current box and use that.

I think its fairly wide open this time round. The sort of year where there are a number of teams that could win if a few key players play well. Wouldn't really say there is a clear winning.

Not worth trying to take the speakers out without taking the door card. Its very simple and only a few bolts so best just to take it off

IMO its not weak to realise you have screwed up and do the right thing. I give much more respect to someone who realises there is a problem and works to resolve it than just putting their head in the sand.

I would say its probably a 50/50 whether they will do something. IMO they should amend the existing car tax - the new car tax to a degree is a bit fairer as they know what they are buying into but the existing cars should be put back. After the loss they had recently in the local elections they know they are going to have to do something serious to avoid a complete white wash at the next elections

If you are going to be powering stuff like a PC PSU you should NOT be running this off the 12v that you get in the lighter socket. This is a fairly low current line and you are likely to blow some fuses. Take a small 8/16AWG feed from the main distribution block which will be powering the amp which is fed directory from the main battery.

I would say you would be better off putting the standard wheels back on as this would increase your potential market and would not cost anything more - if anything maybe earn you a few extra quid as the wheels should be worth a bit

I find the cruise control really useful on late night drives down the M3 - when there is virtually no-one else on the roads its great to be able to turn it on and just sit back. As for more economical - only just and *most* if they say will sit at 80 will end up drifting up to 85/90 when overtaking etc. This then negates the driving yourself is more economical. While the 350z is a great car to drive and have fun in there is still a place for CC on those long journeys

Note that the pinouts and cable colours are different to the US so take the service manual with a pinch of salt. All the diagrams are still the same.

Not sure you can report him to ebay as he is doing nothing wrong. Hes selling exactly what he is advertising. If he was selling them as BOSCH and then sending out BOCSH then it would be different but hes not. You just have to be very careful when buying from ebay.

Just tried this one some of the dings on my door. These are all really small pin style dents where people have opened thier door. Unfortunately it made no difference. I suspect it works much better for large dents
