  2. VQ engines have never been the best sounding out the box. A good exhaust makes them sound 100x better
  3. Feels great. It pains me to say it but a lot more Porsche like. Just more solid in the corners, loads of grip (which can actually be less fun than the 350z) and generally just handles "better". The extra torque is very obvious compared to my 276 350z, I was easily keeping pace in Wales without having to try hard until they hit higher revs. Same as the 350z, 9k miles service interval, nothing special required, just a big Micra engine
  4. Its just the way it is, and the stock exhaust is too quiet which makes it much worse. The 350z was the same top end, just it didnt rev as high. Nice exhaust and intake makes a world of difference to the sound
  5. All Zeds welcome matey, bog standard, modded all the way, and anything in between
  6. As the others have said, if you think its a good deal go for it. To me that does sound like a good deal. Are they chucking in anything else? GAP insurance etc? 3-4 months is the normal wait for a car built to order, but as the others said, check out the used and pre-reg stock they have, theres loads of 370z out there on forecourts waiting to be driven away. You may be able to bag one with nav and all the bits for less than a new one in basic trim
  7. When was that bud? They've done 350z's as long as I had mine, and recently have been accredited as an HPC, so they do 370z and GTRs now. Make sure you ask for G or Abid, they are the guys in the know - mainly cos I trained them up now
  8. Car Limits hold cheaper Activity Days, where they lay out a course on the airfield apron and you can do what you like. Obviously they encourage you to drive properly, but also want you to learn the limits so dont mind drifting. In fact there is a company (forget who) that hire cars specifically for drifting and do attend the days too - http://www.carlimits.com/script/viewEve ... ldactivity . Get out with Andy if you can, the day only costs £40 too
  9. Thanks for the comments guys and gals - yes I love it too It shifts great, takes some getting used to in full auto mode, you have to learn how it likes to drive and it learns how you drive too, but you can always override what it does with the paddles in full auto too if needed. In manual mode, its a dream to drive. Shifts are fast and near instantaneous, on par with the DSG cars I have driven, even though its a conventional auto box - just a very quick one. I love being able to drive in full auto and just enjoy myself, and then easily be able to put it in manual mode and have a blast. In Wales it was brilliant, allowing me more time to focus on driving and being smooth in the bends and enjoy the exceptional handling and bundles of torque (compared to my slightly old and worn out 276 350z).
  10. So as many of you know, I picked up my 370z Black Edition the Thursday before Wales. A lot of you that couldnt make it wanted me to post up a thread about it so here she is, no 95 of 370 Black Edition / 40th Anniversary Edition - and confirmed to be the first in Quartz in the UK (all lower numbers are black). I want to say a massive thanks to the chaps at WLMG in Slough (G and Abid) and the NMGB Product Mananger who have put up with my countless questions and moaning about it all taking so long! In the end they got her in over a month before the system said she'd be ready and I was well impressed to get her before Wales. For those of you looking to get a 370z I cant recommend WLMG in Slough more, and watch this space for a potential incentive to getting one So without further a do, let me introduce LL10 JJK I'm sure the question on everyones lips is what are my first mods going to be. I will start a new progress thread with them, but first up are the Stillen Gen 3 intakes (now I know they do actually fit!) and Stillen cat back exhaust There you go then, I will be off to the corner to be quiet now
  11. 4WD conversion next then? They are a simlar weight (Zed is infact a little heavier!), so with 4WD you'd be well away
  12. Tyres for the Rays should be 225/45 and 245/45 front and rear respectively, so yes your rear tyre is incorrect and will throw off the TC, as the tyre is smaller in diameter than stock, which means the car thinks its spinning quicker than the front and slipping, which it isnt
  13. Come on guys, this is a great meet and has plenty of stuff going on to keep everyone entertained the whole day.
  14. Stillen sorted the firment issue some time ago FI looks nice but I prefer the style of the Stillen. Someone needs to get an FI on here though sowe can see one in the UK.
  15. you have a pm Do it you know you want to  Just don't look at how much replacement discs and pads are
  16. Cheers for he replies guys. The chaps Stateside helped me out - for future refence there is an extra breather but it goes nowhere more than to a box which you remove with the intake tube and don't need it. Will post a pic next weekend when I tackle it again!
  17. Chaps (and Chappets), tried to have a go at installing my Stillen Gen 3 intakes today, but hit a bit of a snag, and wondered if you other 370z owners can check something quick. Passenger side intake, there is a breather tube on the side (same as drivers side), but also on mine there is one directly under it on the intake. You wont be able to see it very well, so best to have a feel instead, just go round from the side tube and you should be able to find it. Let me know if you have one and what model year your car is. Dont know if this is a UK/EU thing, or a MY09 vs MY10 thing
  18. To be fair, the MLR boys are very hard on their brakes (at least the ones I've been out with!), so if they withstand their abuse, they should be good to go. No doubt AP/Project Mu are better, but as you say, not sure they are worth the extra outlay unless you have mountains of cash. I would question the OTT amount of pistons in the K-sports, as they seem to have more than other BBKs for the same size discs, but if they work, they work
  19. no it looks like they have made it integrated with the box, mucho money Yup, its all one unit, not retrofit. Wth the valve closed, it goes through the muffler box as per normal exhaust, with it open it looks like it goes straight to the tips. Cant see a retrofit of this kind of system being easy unless it is a fully integrated unit with the back box.
  20. Are they the K-Sports? Best man to ask is CS, he has fitted the most of them
  21. Simple, but I dont think its cheap
  22. Google is always your friend for all things IT, theres always someone thats done it before! I'm always infuriated by Office 2007 as everything has to be done differently, for no apparent reason
  23. Remember to change it a little bit. Looking at an original ARC, I dont think it would be hard to find some improvements to be made
