  1. Do you have reserve list if Cara declines And before you say it, I'm already spoken for
  2. There is one big advantage of driving at night in Scotland - the moving sheds will have pulled over although the rutting season brings out a new challenge, as Andrew will testify from lasts years drive back from the Hoon to FA
  3. Yeah, but in the real world how often is that going to happen - the main thing is how good is the torque for everyday driving. One thing we all know on here is that the 350's are an absolute dream of a driving machine (for the money) and lets hope the 370 can better it
  4. Welcome to the forum - nice to see another new SE member
  5. Hope you have a wheelie good birthday Mart - stick to 276 horses (+ what your piggy is adding ), far better odds for :teeth:'s than relying on a single one to make your day. Didn't realise you were so young at 52
  6. see - not all my ideas are wind-ups Glad it seems to be sorted Lucy
  7. Hi Bexs - thanks for starting this thread and yes June & I will want an overnight stop and had reckoned somewhere about Carlisle area would be good for us on the Tuesday night. From Surrey, with a meal and comfort stops, will take us about 6-7 hours, an hour and half of which is just getting to the M40 from where we live Be really nice to convoy at least on the Wednesday, if not the Tuesday pm as well And Andrew, fraid Scotland will have to put up with us after the Sunday run as we are looking to to do the Ullapool and beyond runs then
  8. Yes it was fine and the owner was a top bloke, but it did mean you needed to get in the car to get anywhere. June I struck lucky, at Ricky's & Karen's expense, by having a lift into FA in his Civic after he had to abandon the ZED when the lorry ran over it . As we are staying 5 nights this time we certainly weren't about chancing on the misfortune of others for a lift again to socialize in the evenings and as June does not want to drive the ZED, blowed if I am going teatotal for our stay
  9. Don't think he had much choice though Colin, it was either that or nothing And to be fair i dont think many other teams would have taken him on either, because lets face it and through probably no fault of his own he was not at the time regarded as a top flight driver. Its only now that he as a decent car that he now looks good. But be honest i bet the current top 10 drivers in F1 at the moment would look good driving a Brawn Maybe, maybe not - he's got the beating of Rubens and bear in mind what Ross Brawn and Jenson's dad are saying - that he continues to surprise them just how good he is. One thing that Jenson is not so good at, is banging his own drum - a welcome 'fault' given the likes of most the other drivers who look to blame anyone and anything, other than themselves.
  10. Can opener More seriously, I presume you have tried both the drivers and passengers switches, otherwise
  11. I notice you had new disc and pads all round. It might be worth checking whether high melting point grease was used behind the pads in the calipers as on my previous 2004 ZED, I experienced a clicking noise from the rear and having just heard about the clicking axle issue I got a bit paranoid and took it back to the supplying dealer (non-Nissan). Upon checking they found it was the (rear) pads that were sticking and causing a clicking noise and as soon as the grease was applied the clicking noise disappeared and I never heard it again afterwards. Just a thought........... But whatever the problem is in your case you should go back - take them out in the car so they know what you are on about and make it clear the noise was not there beforehand. As you had the P3 done by a Nissan dealer they will be well aware from the techincal bulletins of the clicking axle issue. The 'greasing and turning 'fix' is not a permanent solution BTW, so bear that in mind if that is what is offered and you intend keeping the car sometime. But have you checked all the links in ZMANALEX's posts (see above) as they will give you much more informed advice and if you have any queries I am sure Alex will advise.
  12. Now there's an idea if we could view the GP from such a great vantage point (not the kipping on the floor bit ) - a ZED convoy to Monaco, or wherever we can leave the cars safely, and bus it in for practice/the race. Opps, sorry to hijack the thread but having admired your great pics thought if you don't ask you don't get
  13. I suggest you pm ZMANALEX, although he is regularly on here he also finds time for regular visits to Knockhill to exercise his 600bhp ZED
  14. This link might help you viewtopic.php?f=10&t=21691&hilit=clicking+axle
  15. And what with taking a substantial pay cut that shows what a decent guy he his , compared to many of his peers, some of whom are only interested in No.1
  16. Great to see that he now has a car to show his ability - just a pity bad management in his early years in F1 frustrated moves to the right teams. Today's Monaco win followed a tenacious ability to get on top of car set-up in practice and then a faultless drive. As they say, he is one of the smoothest drivers around and there is no doubt he has the skill to find a good balance on the track to reduce tyre wear but at the same time attacking the kerbs, as Monaco demands, that is giving him the edge over Rubens His only one mistake today was parking in parc ferme at the end of the race rather than in front of the royal box - a legacy of previous years habit of never making the top three in that race But the real transformation for Jenson is having Ross Brawn running things - he clearly is magic at understanding what makes an F1 cars work with whatever rules apply at the time and has an uncanny knack of using great strategies in practice and the race. I really nice guy too. No doubt Ferrari have been struggling ever since Ross's departure. And what a turn around for Lewis - hero to zero, with Mclaren seemingly losing their way with the new rules from the off this season. From what I am seeing, they and others using the new Kers system are having significant issues (BMW dropping the system altogether) and it does seem that it is unsettling the cars under heavy breaking and when the surface is uneven - I guess it is locking up the transmission and pitching cars off. Lewis admitted to late braking causing his shunt in practice but I do wonder if he was wholly to blame Clearly at Monaco the Kers was quite useless, although come the likes of Silverstone the non-Kers users might struggle? And if you wonder why I am going on about Jenson - it goes back to the days when I used a Beetle in motorsport, when his Dad was very quick in one in Rallycross and I use to follow his exploits many moons ago
  17. Welcome to the forum - nice ZED you have there - just like my first (an 04 Blade).
  18. Fully agree with what everyone has said - a great choice - would be nice to see a pic of the stance from the rear quarter And yep, stick to 35psi in the tyres - but only check when they are cold.
  19. All UK supplied ZEDS have a Cat 1 immobilizer/alarm but imports can vary - see Steve3000's post on this thread for info: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=14554&hilit=alarm%2Fimmobilizer
  20. When you giving your granny her tea cosy back
