  1. Mind you, when I saw the first (side view) pic of car 2 I thought he had left his grass cutting kit on the back, but at least the second pic confirmed it was a diffuser
  2. What a great offer and opportunity - just a pity I am so far south Now come the early part of September I won't be.............
  3. +1 Put real deterrents in place, whatever the crime, that will make those in our society who seem to think breaking the law is a game think again. It is a real pleasure when we go to Singapore and can walk in public places at night with no fear of an attack, and right down to more basic issues with no rubbish strewn around or chewing gum all over the place - simply because if you get caught there the penalties are so severe it deters those who might choose to chance it. No doubt crime does take place there but I do not feel similarly at ease here out at night in any built areas and god forbid if I look at anyone in case I'm accused of not showing them respect , as in Bens' case - what a state this country is getting in
  4. But Dave, you make such a loverly couple - now where's that pic taken on the last Wales run-out giving each other a
  5. I believe that sort of failure can sometimes be due to the battery cells collapsing - a battery check will confirm - AA/RAC?
  6. "I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!" Yeah, I was watching poor old Victor last night on one his best drives in Britain programme last night using the Dukes Hill pass in the Trossachs. Looks good On the way up to FA after Moffat I reckon a diversion off the A84 after Stirling and along the A873/A81 and up the A821, which is the road concerned, that then brings us back onto the A84 would be a good warm-up for the HOON. Anyone up for this BTW - what is happening about booking the accomm at Moffat?
  7. Aha!!! The secrets out Colin - so you ADMIT to doing motorsport! Aha see knew it ! June only mentioned she gets you drive day pressies and never mentioned you were a stealth demon expert driver But we knew you always were - and I thought you took the fuse out for the brake lights........nooooooo you dont use em ! He he he Stan: I am no demon driver, just one who enjoys a demon car that when you are in the right gear for a corner you can better exploit the ZEDs capabilities, which is why it is so highly rated as a driver's car. Nothing minds me up more on the road than the driver who is constantly on and off their brakes - OK , with auto's you don't have much alternative but when you see the brakes come on at every corner, or they are simply too close to the car in front and not reading the road ahead, that is just plain bad driving in my book
  8. Old fart. We need to bring our grumbles up to date You sound like a good mod prodigee
  9. I love to drive with the window down/part down whenever I can to hear the ZED's music But its those times when you drive away with the window down and forget about recent rain that is by then pouring in off the roof through the open window - oh for rain gutters, but yeah I know it would spoil the lines. After some 4 years of ZED ownership you would have thought I had learnt my lesson by now
  10. Armchair motorsport fan now (used to do a lot of motorsport years back ) Dodging the next DIY the other 'alf thinks of - my usual excuse (if the weather allows) is "that I must go and wash the cars darling", and then spend the rest of the day on the ZED until I usually start the rain Spending too much time on this forum when I should be working , and looking for the next thing I wind Nixy up with Enjoying as much time as June and I can with our 20 month old grandson is high on the list but he's such a great little lad and with three sets of grandparents, this particular gramps and nana have to join the queue of other family and friends
  11. While it is warranty, at Wilsons - not cheap but gets the necessary stamps in the book. Undecided about extending the warranty (having had zero issues since new) as that is an arm and leg through Nissan, as well as paying their exorbitant servicing costs. Wouldn't bother with one of the 'aftermarket' warranty offerings - from what I hear they will find an excuse not to pay out. Just waiting to see how things pan out towards the end of this year - a 370 would be nice
  12. A gut instinct tells me this is'nt greatest buy - it does not seem to be particuarly cherished, in a way you will tend to find by members on here selling their cars. But your call and I would suggest you have a professional inspection done
  13. Planning permission is normally only required if it is a trunk or classified road - most residential roads are not in that category and therefore the only 'consent' needed is from the highway authority to whom you have to pay to have the work done, or I believe some Councils require you to have it done by an approved contractor. Even if planning permission is required the Local Planning Authority has no authority to 'enforce' against persons obstructing the access as planning law does not extend to controlling what happens on a public highway. 'Enforcement' would be a matter for the police if in an obstruction to an access is being caused - suffice to say they don't normally treat such breaches as priority but will probably do a vehicle check and have a 'word' with the car owner. If problems persist then I guess they would get heavy with the person they see as wasting their time by ignoring their warnings. In your case Jammy007 it's up to you whether you want to report the illegal dropped kerb but if you have already had confrontations with the neighbour and given he's not shy to carry out unlawful work he might not be shy about seaking revenge on your car, or worse still you What Rod_Quads says about declaring complaints is true when you came to sell your home and is something to be careful about
  14. battery terminals usually have something like Vaseline to help prevent corrosion and ensure a good contact is made - seems your issue with the new battery might simply down to the clamp(s) not being tight enough.
  15. tbh mate not looking fo rhuge bucks as want it rid a,s,a,p It will also give the ideal place for the rear camera - having seen Caveys in action who has used the blanking plate, its very impressive
  16. They don't hold copies of deeds but do hold drawings showing boundaries Sorry, but Council's don't hold such information unless it is property they own. It is common misunderstanding that Councils will know property boundaries but they don't. The Land Registry is the place to go, something in my line of work as a town planner I have to from time to time to help people out trying to clarify their boundaries before undertaking a building project
  17. Very happy for you use my post - shall we say 10% commission Not long after I had my Rays done Big Phil had a great deal going on the LMGT4's with Falkens so my Rays and Stones are now waiting to be tracked
  18. I wonder if this the kit that Big Phil was trying last year? More info at this link: http://www.parkingdynamics.co.uk/Vehicl ... namics-PD1
  19. Council's do not have that info on private property. You should be able get it from the land registry (providing the property has been registered) and see the info on-line. That is how solicitors do it these days and don't keep/bother with paper copies. Banks/building societies who have an 'interest' in the property may have copies but they tend to charge silly access fees. Try this link http://www1.landregistry.gov.uk/direct/ ... efault.asp
  20. Welocome and a great intro Good to see you have already put your skills to use - very impressive But you might come to regret saying
  21. Google(bot) and Yahoo(bot) are always browsing the site but they don't post much, so what are they after
  22. Going back to your previous thread :http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=23685 ....we are presuming your starting problems first occurred after picking up the car from the repair/cosmetic work you had done? You have then concluded (following comments on here) that the battery was knackered but have said the alternator seems to be OK as it is showing 14 on the voltmeter. You then said the cutting out affected your power steering and brake servo. That is unlikely to be fuel pump related but more to do with the electrics to fail for a sudden severe loss like that, particularly as the car recovered before it happened again. That all makes me think you have a short that is kicking in or something is wrong with the car's earthing. Seeing you have had a new front bumper, and following a front end bump; you now have LEDs in the headlights and I believe there is an airbag sensor in the front bumper area as well - has all the wiring in those areas been carefully checked since the work was done? The original battery might have been OK but it was simply being drained and you may find the same thing happening to the new one. Best to get a decent auto electrian to check things out, if you cannot find an obvious problem in all the areas on the car where work work has been carried out since it was last running OK
  23. I guess much of that mileage, and not chugging around town , will mean there will be little carbon build up
