    2007 M3

+1 Especially after my drive in this morning when Mr 525d decided to try and ram the Zed three times on the dual carriageway - I had been having a conversation on the phone for the previous 20 mins so no idea what the tool's problem was.
  2. The headunit should have a blue lead which is the 'switch on' for amps (and whatever else you want to turn on with the head unit really) and should be connected to the correct connection in the amp. I would have thought the adaptor does this though? As for the size of the box on the Alpine, the Alpine unit bypasses the Apple software for converting the file to music as it's not the best when it comes to quality.

    Track day cars

Anybody know where these can be bought? I mean things like old race cars (Fiesta's, Leon's etc.) from either one make series or others that have been stripped out and are looking for new homes? I want one!
  4. Try this for the S1 http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/R ... 431&page=7 This for the S2 http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/R ... 435&page=7 And this for the VX220 http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/reviews/R ... 009&page=7

    The Gallardo

Looks great guys - bet you never tire of looking at it Liam!! Nice pics Louis.
  6. I was quite pleased with the pictures, first time I really tried to get good pictures. I know it's no master class but for point and shoot I'm well happy. Apparently they run these sorts of days quite regularly, and you can also turn up and 'run what you brung' - will try and get some details and see if we can coincide it with another hyper car launch!!
  7. What a day, so many cars that you just wouldn't expect to see at all, let alone banging around a track and completely open for you to mooch around as you please. My amateur shots:- Total car list that I can remember was: Gumpert Apollo S Lambo Murcielago Audi R8 Astra VXR (lapping quicker than the Caterhams! ) Ferrari 360 Lambo Diablo VT Sumo Racing 350Z BMW WTC (Andy Piralux was testing) Ex Roberto Ravaglia 1986 Touring Car Low points, some guy rolled a Capri, and another guy had a kit car (Image?) that leaked fuel onto the exhaust with some flamable consequences One thing for certain now, I need a track day car!
  8. And I hope it doesn't drive like one too!!
  9. Come on Zedrush, that's about half a dozen now - start a poll!!
  10. At Brands Hatch with one of these. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gumpert_Apollo Apparently a bit of a handful, Paddock Hill could be interesting. Bit of a monster

Don't be too sure. Apparently Thames Valley police had a modded Astra for a while to attract racers!

    Resprayed door

Hard to tell mate. Have you got any pics? One way of testing it, is to get an item like a bottle of polish and look at it in the reflection of the different panels. You will soon see any orange peel / milky lacquer etc. If it has just been done then I would say just get some of the same wax you already use onto it if all looks well.

    Black roof...

I think it depends if you live in a flat in the first place!! Looks alright, personally I like my cars all one colour.
  14. I stayed in school and passed my exams But equally passing exam's is not a automatic ticket to making money. I know plenty of people who passed many exam's and have no money. Me for one. Sure Sarnie has had his fair share of luck (good and bad!) I'm a firm believer of making your own luck. In my experience people who have bad luck are the sort of people who sit and wait for things to happen for them. Good luck happens to go-getting people who get off their arse and make things happen for themselves and not rely on others. All my own (warped) opinion of course. Agree with the notion, but at the same time you can be a go getter and still not have luck on your side... Right result if you do though!! Its all about probabilities. A go-getter will be out there making things happen. By doing so, the probability of him having good luck will be higher than if he was sitting around doing nothing expecting things to land on his lap. A pro-active person will be more competent at controlling his own destiny as they will be able to pre empt negative things that can be deemed as bad luck happening. For example, two students sit an exam. One student revises all areas of the syllabus thoroughly for three months before the exam. The other starts his revision 2 weeks before the exam and specialises in one subject area. The first student passes and the second one fails as he was 'unlucky' that his subject area didn't come up in the exam. The first student controlled his own destiny and 'luck'. You forgot all about the third type that did plenty of work, got a little bored and then used every tactic possibel to throw the rest of the exam room. Like asking for graph paper after 30 mins in my law paper and asking for another book to write in after an hour of a 3 hour exam. It scares the hell out of other people! I agree with what you're saying. At the same time, there are many factors outside of everyone's control, and an element of that is called luck.

Agreed. It's the practical application of what you learn, but most importantly common sense...... I was lucky and was able to buy my first house 12 days after my 21st birthday. If I hadn't, I'd be in a sticky position now. Sure Sarnie has had his fair share of luck (good and bad!)
  17. +1 As much as I hate to admit it. Am happy to run the offshore 350z-uk.com site!
  18. I'm checking some details with other members on here that have bought NISMO's to see what their suppliers can do. The slight issue is the distribution of them once here could put the cost above having them sent separately to those that want them. Will come back to you all.

    speed

I had an umarked almost push me down the road in my modded Volvo. In the end I had no choice but to speed up to 50 in a 40 and then drop back. He pulled me over and showed me the video, and I explained to him how he was so close I felt it was dangerous and tried to keep a gap. I got nothing, and then he pulled me over another two times in the following three days..... No ticket though.
  20. Take one booming housing market and combine it with one mortgage advisor that happens to be a petrolhead and you end up with going through the motions to something exotic..... There's been a couple of others on here done it too. One went via an Aston I think.
  21. For a price.... You don't need a phone for tickets, just more money than you know what to do with. oh contrair you need a phone if yu want tickets to a sold out event they guarentee it Like I said mate, for a price!
  22. Sorry, but PLEASE do not put WD40 all over your paintwork. Start with something like AG Super Resin Polish, it shouldn't have affected the lacquer so using tar remover etc might be a bit extreme. Car looks great, enjoy it! Why ?? it will not do any harm and will dissolve the adhesive , it seems madness to try and polish glue off a car ? and its likely to scratch the paint If the adhesive IS on the paintwork ? normally dealer stickers are on the glass, wd40 works well on this also, just spray on a rag and hold on for a few mins or you could use a hairdryer to soften it wd40 is well used on bikes to remove chain wax from painted wheels with absolutely no detremental affects If you're happy using it then great. Using a lubricant / oil on paint is not ideal IMO. You refer to it being used on wheels etc. Which may be fine. Paint is a different chemical set up and oil absorbing into it will cause problems.
  23. That's what I was thinking, but then with a film it is going to be very close to a very hot engine, and don't want it warping / melting / getting permanently stuck on there. Anyone know what this stuff is??
