  1. Bit hesitant about replying after getting b.ll..ked for not spotting the sticky, but my baby is GM, was going to look at claying her but thanks for the advice. Now, I understand the 2 bucket method, actually already use it, but not wishing to appear stupid, what is and where do I get a grit guard, not mentioned in the sticky. You will be fine claying a car. The only thing you need to make sure is you use plenty of lubrication on the paint. If you don't you can cause marring with is damage caused by pulling clay across the paint. A Meguairs Quik Clay kit contains more than enough to do the car. A grit guard can be got from here - http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/index.ph ... ductId=170
  2. Autoglym don't do wax! Agreed, the soap can be too aggressive, justlike leaving Snowfoam soaking on a car....
  3. Despite a lot of professional detailers not being able to tell the difference between products when tested back to back on cars.....!! +1 on the Clean and Shiny, just round the corner from me and a good bunch. Detailing World is a huge site and will consume your life! Why do you recommend a Karcher, Snowfoam and avoiding clay barring?
  4. Yeah my neighbours take the **** after a 8hr stint, but thankfully haven't done one for a while.....! Yeah very rewarding.............. Especially when it goes an rains all afternoon an youv'e got a motorway drive ahead of you Couldn't agree more, and always the way!! BTW, that guide lists only a few brands, and there are hundreds out there. Depending how often you want to touch wax up, what finish you want etc there are better products than others. Try a few and see what ones you like. But the general rule is you can't rush the big jobs. A wash. dry, and wax touch up is a quick job, but all the other jobs need attention.

    Winter Wax

Glad you like the finish. Great wet look on the black! I gave mine another coat of this on Sunday evening in the garage. Not great for winter use as it isn't the longest lasting, but it looks great. Dead easy to use too.

    400Z

I don't like the boot line, but not too radical a change overall. The 400 in 400Z sounds most interesting!!
  7. Agreed. Chris and I should have the first delivery under this regime carried out in the week! Plenum delivered from Woking to Big Phil. Pickup Monday eve, delivery Tues afternoon Could this altruistic thing warrant it's own forum area? Excellent. Much appreciated Chris - pint waiting next time we catch up.
  8. Sorry bud, but you've got a 300bhp rear wheel drive sports car. The only thing that keeps you on the road are 4 patches of rubber and surely you want the car to stay on the road. Especially if it is a daily driver, when you will be dealing with all sorts of conditions.... You buy cheap you normally buy twice, or in the case of tyres it can be a new car. Toyos and Falkens won't be the hardest tyres out there, but nor do they wear very quckly. You could get 10k on them, you could get 20k, depends how heavy your right foot is and how much fun you have on the twistys! I have Toyo Proxes T1-R's on mine, and have done for the last 10k. They're doing fine.

    RX8 Update

I don't know what they've done to that suspension but it looks like a sofa on wheels..... I used to like these, but the front arches just spoil the shape of the car for me. Why they haven't upped the power to compete a bit more is beyond me!
  10. £400 for 18" Toyos T1-R's?? You sure?! If so, that is a great deal for a very good tyre.
  11. Sorry, should have responded with my findings! Between Brinster, BigPhil and Adam (z1auto), there seems to be little gained from a group buy. Since these suppliers offer back up (to varying degrees) and direct shipment, they represent best value for a NISMO exhaust.
  12. You mean like this one......are they any good? http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/328536.htm Looks quite nice in an old man kind of way, but looks comfy and is auto. What are they like for performance and economy. Will do some googling.... Yeah, that sort of thing maybe, since you mentioned diesel. Performance on that would be 170bhp and 0-60 in 9.1s. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/339154.htm This above would be 220bhp, 60 in 6.7s. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/293055.htm This would be 185bhp and 60 in about 8.8s. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/280861.htm You should know all about this one!
  13. That birds skirt and top as you think you'd look "fetching" in it? +1 It won't be the Evo X as Sarnie has been vocal in the past about Evo's IIRC. Only ones comparable in price to the Lambo would be the R8 and a Porker...
  14. Sorry to hear about the back problems, it's one of the worst pains IMO. I would agree with some of the comments re: comfort of the VAG stuff. If you want a back saviour, go for a Volvo or a Merc if that is the main driver for changing the car. A CLK 270 CDi wouldn't be a bad shout, but it depends how much of the boy racer is left in you!!
  15. Could also be rear axle if they're not greased or are worn?
  16. And my brother has just decided to get married there!
  17. How long has the suspension been on there? Anything else been changed? Has it always done it? Just trying to narrow it down a bit!
  18. Anti roll bars? Exhaust making the noise instead of suspension?
  19. I am working! I do yes, but wasn't sure if you were still wanting to mimick the Porker. Are these going on your current or new car???
  20. Spacer them if you have to?
  21. That crash looked mental!! Sounds like to associate with some right loony toons Kev!
  22. You can get 19 NISMO's for £1700, with tyres......
  23. In anyone else car then yeah I think this makes it clear Sarnie has taken the Stig's name in vain, and is not prepared to act in the same way the true Stig would. We need a title change please mods. Come on, it's just a bit of water, and it is cheating with 4 WD anyway....
