  1. 350Z GRAN TURISMO 4 – What is it? (Please excuse the uppercase, that’s how Sony marketed the game – see below) << Story Updated so Revision 1 removed - See later post for Rev. 2 !! >>
  2. In case anyone's wondering I've finally found the time to do a major update to the GT4 Register. Some facts so far: There are now partial details for 41 of the 176 car, of which 15 are Kuro and 26 are Ultra Yellow. However, we only have 6 VIN numbers and those are all for UYs, so its difficult to identify any build patterns. I'm now going back to the contact details to ask for the submitted details to be verified, plus to fill in the blanks. The diffiult part of this is that contact details are usually forum names (and some of you seem to have more than one!) and occasionally e-mail addresses so please forgive me if you get multiple contact attempts. I also wont give out any details from the Register until I know you have the identified car when I will supply some of the details for confirmation, plus a request to fill in the blanks. If you're Proud of your Limited Edition GT4, please take the time to let me know the details. As it says in the original post, details will not be released to any other parties. They are collected for the register to answer questions such as "how many UY GT4s had the Nismo Aero Kit fitted?" Thanks for your time, JohnK
  3. Nothing personal but ... Is there a Mod around who could move the non-GT4 Register posts into a separate thread? Thanks. JK
  4. I have a plate with wrong font and a space missing. If I have it on and ever get pulled I'll ask if its so bad how come their camera van managed to send me a ticket?
  5. Late coming to this thread but try downloading SpyBot Search & Destroy (freeware - but beware of others with similar names - they just want money!!). Cleared my Trojans up a treat!
  6. Hmm, does 90 Mile Beach sound right? Might be around here. I'm really curious now. http://www.paradisenz.co.nz/tours.htm#hokianga Right up the top end of the North Island. Definitely top end of North Island, West side and I'm now sure its Kohukohu. Re: Overall speed limit - 100kph, oh 60mph - thats alright then!!
  7. If you think its transmission related first port of call should be a *good* tyre depot with four-wheel laser alignment equipment and competent operators. You'll be amazed what a slight mis-adjustment can be doing. And while you'll there get the wheels re-balanced first - that should find a "bad" tyre or wheel. JohnK p.s. Whereabouts are you?
  8. Cant remember the name. Kohohoku? Its just south of twenty-something mile beach...... (My brain is clearly in decline ...)
  9. Welcome to the site. My business partner spends six months of each year in/on North Island. Didn't het tell me that you have a blanket 50mph speed limit?
  10. You're more than welcome to look at mine - bit far away though, just south of Oxford. JohnK
  11. I think you are right to avoid PayPal. As an internet retailer it seems that if anything goes wrong its the seller who suffers - they lose the goods and dont get the money.
  12. Thought some of you might be interested in an update ....... Have now done just over 1,000 miles on my new engine. I've limited my revs and everything seems fine. In Nissan terms I had: complete bare engine, new flywheel and clutch thrust bearing. Oil was checked on delivery, after one week and today and looks clear and golden at the full mark. Car itself was strange at first. I think the immersion and then standing for three weeks had affected disks and pads and possibly clutch, but brakes seem fine now. Its going back to the dealer for a fluid levels check on Wednesday plus I'll ask them to look at the following: 1) On overrun, at lowish revs, car seems to judder slightly (clutch?) 2) After standing, there is a musty smell on start up (blocked aircon drain pipe?) 3) Nearside headlight washer doesnt retract fully (result of bumper removal and refit?) Cheers everyone who's asked! JK
  13. Thats not a Zed - You cant fool me
  14. Spent an evening drinking with Roger Clark and Gerry Marshall.
  15. Azure Coupe coming north towards Bracknell. I waved and flashed (I'm faster on the zip than Chubbs!).
  16. Along the Fairmile on Saturday evening... A GM Roadster (parked) and a GM Coupe travelling towards Henley! I flashed and waved
  17. Now my money would have been on a Model T, John! It was green not black!!
  18. First car was an Austin A40 (1959). Never written one off except to the breakers! And if I knew then what I know now, my third car (my first brand new one) would still be with me. Best fun ever: 1971 Ford Escort Mk1 RS1600 (with the BDA engine) - Chassis no: BB49KY42256
  19. Welcome! Best colour!! Dont forget to tell us the limited edition number. It should be on a plate mounted just between and behind the seats. There should also be a spare plate (in the storage cubby?). Mine was also missing the front air dam (chin spoiler) so check that this isn't missing (fits below front bumper). Great choice!
  20. All you young whippersnappers! Mine was bought two years ago and, working backwards, I was then at the magic 60. Off to the 'ring in October (for the second time) to celebrate my upcoming 63rd. Need to get a few more laps notched! I'm sure there's someone around older than me too!
  21. I'm getting the paperwork to show exactly what was replaced. Yes, the new engine is warrantied but I'm not sure for how long - may be only 12 months and the car has longer than that left anyway. Still its all Nissan GB work/supply so there's only one place to shout at (if neccessary - cant complain about what they've done so far). Regarding the value of the new engine - Its interesting - Louis is probably right, private owners might be put off, however, two traders I've spoken to almost tried to pull my arm off! They seem to think it would significantly help shifting it... Cheers all!
  22. Somebody aske for a pic: Muttley sunbathing this morning before we set off for a long weekend in Brighton...
  23. Hi Tilly! Welcome. The car looks lovely but I have to agree its overpriced (and out of its warranty!). My advice would be to look for a MY06 model, or even a GT4 (with the same engine). There's an Ultra Yellow one being advertised on the forums for around £19 and I'd say it is a bargain. Cheers JohnK
  24. Stevie - Are you in Oxfordshire? If you decide on some paintwork I know a man in South Oxfordshire who did my front bumper - he did lots of extra lacquer coats to make it more resilient. JK
  25. Digsy! Digsy! Where is he when you need him ....
