  1. Drive one you may change your views. Very rewarding and the quickest thing from A to B on UK roads. Well at that price anyway. Just have a look at the Stig Lap Times. Everyone knows they are unbeatable on the roads , unfortunately they have come down to such a price level that the main customers for them seem to live on council sink estates.. call me a snob by all means but the image they have is untenable , unless I start dressing in a nylon shell suit that is What was cutting edge just a few years ago seems very naff now...I hope the Zed doesn't suffer the same problem (cant see it yet though, as they are not as ubiquitous by any means as a Scooby ) +1 Around my neck of the woods it seems the Scooby has become the stereotypical replacement for the Escort RS Turbo!!! However, there are a fair few nice Evo's kicking around.

    2007 M3

Saw one in person a couple of days ago whilst out Z4 shopping with a mate and to be honest, it did nothing for me. It has nice touches like the carbon roof but nothing there could justify the price tag to me. The E30 on the other hand is a beaut!!!

    Focus st

FWD can be ok but there is a limit!! I have driven the ST and agree that it wwas merely ok for me, the Z is a much better car imo. A friend of mine has built a 350bhp FWD Supercharged Ford Cougar and that is an experience I can tell you!!!!
  4. Glad you're back in one piece mate!!!! Now get back in the Z and go and rack up some more fines!!
  5. Awesome looking car imo!!! Bet you can't wait to get your hands on it now!!
  6. I'm about most of the time!! Depends when you're allowed out on day release!!
  7. Completley barmy if it turns out to be true!
  8. There goes the neighbourhood!!! Glad you had a good time bud, when are you coming down to visit me in sunny Sussex!!
  9. Hmmm carbon!! I'll give you a call in a bit Phil!!!
  10. Congrats mate, onwards & upwards!!

    Exhaust

+1 Would agree, it's what I am doing, at least for the time being unless I run out of storage space!
  12. Yeah, I lived there for just over three years! No offence to anyone that may live there but in my humble opinion it is the biggest dump of a city I have ever lived in but I probably had the best laughs up there I have ever had!! As you say...."those were the days!"
  13. Mine was a 998cc Metro with an MG Turbo front grill and a sticker on the side saying "Go Go Metro" Classic car!! Bought for £500 and sold for £500 two years later when it could no longer make the 280 mile trip to Hull Uni & back once a year! First car written off was my XR2i that I bought to replace the Metro. Myself and two mates in it parked up on the side of the road and we got rammed by a 32 tonne articulated truck!! You can guess the outcome!!
  14. If I remember correctly, when I took mine apart, the strut bar cover is only held down by a few clips! Best bet is to simply stick something like an old towel in behind it or put some blue-tac in where the clips go in so it stops rattling.

    Oil (again)

+1 I use 5W30 in mine and have done for the last 40k miles (with changes) and the Z loves it!
  16. Have the same phone, ended up getting a Parrot kit and hardwiring it in.
  17. Massive thanks for the wiring diagrams!! They were a great help as is the rest of the maunal!!! By way of an update, the switch is throwing out some weird voltage readings so think it could be that but still not 100%. Just for the information logs, if the electrics do go and you need to raise the window, it is possible to do it manually whilst still locking it in situ. The whole door has to be stripped down ie: door card off, metal plate off, all bronze locator screws taken off. The motor and housing has to be removed from the silver facia and then using a 1/4" drive in the middle of the motor housing, the window can be raised maually. Just remember to leave a slight gap at the top as the window won't self-drop or self-raise if the electrics have gone!!! It's a bit of an effort and needed 3 of us to do it as one has to hold the window, one the motor and housing and the other wound the window up but as a short term solution it is do-able.
  18. I'm after a passenger side electric window switch and motor if posible!!
