£14k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My last quote was £650 fully comp, protected no claims etc but on a limited mileage policy as I have my Mk1 Golf to ping about in as my daily driver! I'm 26 and live in Surrey if it makes a difference I can't actually compute £14k for a years insurance!! What happened to the good old days of getting a Metro at 17 and running it into the ground for a few years to build up your no-claims!!

Just planning out the ICE install at the moment and I was wondering if the OE headunit is exactly a double din or is it one and a bit like so many cars these days??? I have found a convertor plate for the 350 that gives you one sin sized space and a tray but ideally if it will go I would like to put my flip out screen and sat-nav unit in the space where the OE headunit is. (Both are single din units) Can anybody help??? Thanks in advance

You are right in saying the Bose is a low impedance system. Your only option if you want to upgrade and keep the standard unit would be to speak to someone like Genesis over in Essex as they can retro-fir RCA's preouts to existing standard units. Very populare with the E46's etc so it keep s the factory look. If you do that though, you are then lookingat going down the route of aftermarket speakers and amplifiers etc....

I have got the Veilside V3 kit. Not to everyones taste perhaps but I love the look of it and have already sent the exhaust surrounds off to America to be carbon wrapped!! Already got most of my ICE that came out of the Cougar as well!! Don't worry, I will be taking pics the whole way through!

Already have a full kit waiting for it in my garage plus a few other bits like clear front markers, some carbon fibre bits and bobs and looks like I will be ordering the rims next week most likely! Also got all my ICE to go in which should be a pretty mad install!!

Well looks like I have a buyer for my Cougar now so hopefully with a bit of luck it won't be too long before I can officially join you lot!!! Needs to be soon anyway as my collection of Z parts is growing day on day!!

I would be very surprised if the wiring wasn't there as it would have meant that they would have had to set up 2 jigs on the production line to produce one with and one without and I wouldn't have said that would have been cost effective. Going on previous experience when I have taken cars apart, the wiring is almost always there but they have just left the hardware off such as buttons, fog lights etc.

In my previous policies, I have always understood it to be that I can claim up to and including 3 times on my policy for claims without losing my no claims bonus. It means you can get away with having a couple of small prangs a year and keeping your 5+ years of no claims intact.
