  1. looking good looking forward to more pictures
  2. do you reckon you could get them to unhitch you if you told them you would keep drving off
  3. what tyres are on there? i cant tell from the photos
  4. you should be able to apply a wax to any paint
  5. really nice wheels, wonder if its a club member selling them
  6. it may not be elegant, they may not have smooth lines and the engine bay may look like spag bol; but the effort and ability is worth a round of applause. not many could sit down and do that. thats more advanced than a kit car. not everyone has big budgets for car builds so i say well done that man p.s. i wouldnt drive it myself or want to own it though
  7. once i have perfected it and i'm confident that what i'm offering will be of a quality finish everytime then i shall open up trade on here. i've spoken to the mods and they are happy for this. i'll then pay trading rights and be signed up properly. but for now i'll do the odd update etc so you all know whats happening. there are several areas on the zed that i felt could be improved and it was something no one else was doing or could cater for; so i hope that this will be a benefit to the club. if the mods don't mind i'll post a link to the website i've been building; if people wanted to have a look at what else i've been working on. www.rtcustomz.com
  8. its a durable as the paint on your car. it uses automotive primers and base coats then the film is applied and then the process is finished off with an automotive clear coat. i'm also using infa red heaters to dry and bake the paint. so if you did it to the wheels it would be identical to a wet painted wheel done by somewhere else. i suppose its possible you could have them powdercoated somewhere else then hydrographically printed and then clear coated for an even tougher finish. never tried it ontop of a powder coat finish but in theory i cant see why it wouldn't work
  9. its always worth trying the Chillis to see if they have what you want; i always find i like traders who actually spend the time on the forum and chat tot the members. service from them has always been top nothc, and i know any problems (if i was to have any) would be sorted straight away (although i never did have any issues in all the 2 years i bought stuff from sarah )
  10. spot on; Hydrographic printing that is exactly the same technique, i'm just playing around on a smaller scale while i perfect it and work out best how to use the films and chemicals etc. i have a giant bath ready for large items, but instead of wasting the water i'm using small tubs to practice in.
  11. nope all being done in my spare time.
  12. i've not heard anything bad
  13. i've got some steering wheel controls; b pillars and arm rests off the doors all of which will be finished in that 2nd film. and i've worked out how to put the text back on to the pre facelift steering controls. other easy possibilites are the rear strut bar, door handles, door sills, front and rear zed badges etc. with some sanding will also do centre console, plastics behind the driver etc, engine covers. engine battery and brake fluid covers (with some sanding and filling) other plans are for the mounts that hold the door mirrors, the mirror shells themselves, the main advantage is it has no joins, and adds only the thickness of spray paint to it.
  14. i take this process and i can apply it to pretty much any solid material like metal plastic or wood. so in terms of how this would benefit you; instead of using a speed shape i could do zed car interior or exterior parts.
  15. bottom 3 are all the same, but its from straight out of the tank all the way through to cleaned.
  16. Some of you maybe aware that i'm in the process of starting my own business; well today i had my first goes and testing and it was so much fun i really wanted to share it with you guys. this was my test subject; just an ABS speed shape pre painted in BMW Sapphire black This is one of the films i was testing; its one of the 2 carbon fibre films (my 2nd favourite) this was the first ever one i've done so it was far from perfect, i'm in the process of fine tuning everything to get it to work right everytime. we had a few issues and some things i need to look into as it didn't go as i planned first time. 2nd test went alot better, we used the other film (my favourite) and it has kind of gone to lan but there are a few things i need to improve and fiddle to make sure i get the perfect finish every time. they are fresh out of the water and so still need clear coating. have some research to do before the next test but its definetly coming on.
  17. i believe the car has TC and ESP. but if turning the TC off turns both off i'm not sure, i have a feeling the ESP is permanent.
  18. personally for the money their are better items to be bought than the (over priced IMHO) nismo stuff
  19. answer are in the article "But sadly it, and the suspension kit and sports seats are not available in the UK, this 350Z simply demonstrating what might be should Nismo be introduced into the UK market. Currently the only parts you’ll get at your Nissan dealer in the UK are the body kit and the wheels. The body kit isn’t cheap at £2495 fitted, and if you’re thinking you might wait and get it fitted later you can’t, as it’s only currently available factory fitted on new cars. Those 19-inch wheels cost £2075 too, adding significantly to the £27,000 list price of the ‘must have’ GT pack specified 350Z. " You can source the kit, and the exhaust, wheels are also available. you could find an aftermarket suspension and damper kit (who would know the difference) might not be able to get nismo seats but you could find some very similair recaros. gear knobs are available as are the induction kits and you could stick as many nism o stickers on it as you like. but that little lot will set you back a bit; don't think you;d get much change from 5.5k
  20. closest copy worth spending money on would probably be the Shine kit or i think it was called the aerosync. it had the flushed out badge and i think stew has it on his. i think it is a work of art and being (i think its ABS plastic, but might be FRP) not made of fibreglass like the original its far more durable.
  21. i don't believe they ever did a full nismo car; but the dealerships offer parts as extras' i.e you could get the body kit fitted etc i think the only true nismos came from japan. so you'd be looking for a JDM or possibly a USDM your best bet is possibly to buy a 313 and then add all the bits on that you want. although not all that has the nismo name on is strictly nismo. they did rebrand other manufacturers stuff for their own purposes. i believe the nismo CAI is a rebraded AEM unit on the pre facelifts. wouldn't be suprised if other bits were as well
