  1. got so pi**ed off with it today i did a factory reset on the desktop. runs brilliantly now; alot faster, slight down side is i think i deleted our wedding video footage which i forgot to save to disc first
  2. its why womens insurance si cheaper, they tend to have low speed prangs with minimal low cost damage to repair, blokes tend to go out in a ball of flames; usually a write off and usually expensive. there are advantages to being a woman even if half your species have limited spacial awareness. i think thats more the issue, not that women cant drive; but more they lack the spacial awareness; and again this is not all women but a large percentage of them.
  3. i think alfa did a 4wd diesel version of their 159, easily tuned to silly torque levels and very refined inside. not sure at what price they are though
  4. i like it too, but i don't have a man room to put it in,
  5. i run all those and have them on automated setups, even been through and clean up the startup process turing off as much as i can that doent need to be booted straight up.
  6. in china they built an entire carpark with wider spaces just for female drivers http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8432887.stm there is no smoke without fire yes there are expceptions to the rule of women who are good drivers, but they are few and far between, same as there are a minority of men who drive like women.
  7. norway and other scandinavian countries have skid pan training as part of their compulsory driving tuition as well volvos have had running lights for decades as all the old volvos had the lights on day or night. i will be offering a new zed modification coming soon where i will retro fit 2 maglights on your bumper with some gaffa tape and it will be a bargin price of 100.00
  8. of sports cars are awesome really? doesnt it just mean they have money and cant park an expensive car thats like making me wear designer clothes, doesnt cha nge the fact i; still fat, but now i'm a fat man in a posh suit. same works for female drivers, just makes them a bad parker in a sports car
  9. definatly need to see the product in action to judge for myself, seen some of the competitions work and its not bad but this is mean to be quiet good. but the type of work interests me and would allow m eto get out and about, and i'd still be able to work with my hands; i wouldn't be indoors based in an office. id get to do some driving, meet people and possibly make a lot more money than i would in teaching.
  10. lol no its automotive based can't work out if i say anymore or not
  11. Then why ask for any advice if you know all the answers? i have answers, but no experience or knowledge in the area, i have for the last 15 years worked for other people, i have never been the big boss, and at the end of the day, those major issues have been someone elses problem. i want info form people in that situation or who own their own business who might highlight things i haven't thought of. will wait for more info from the company and if im more serious then i might book a meeting with the bank to find out more about figures etc and how it might work. if i'm honest the thought of it scares the crap out of me, but i also find the prospect quiet exciting at the same time.
  12. the government seem to be backing franchisee's and so are the banks as they hold a high sucess rate something like 95% on average. compared to about 66% of independent setups. i think it definetly has potential even in this climate, but i need ot work out if i will be competing in a closed market or diminishing market as the already established places have cornered all the work. and if the prices from the franchise come out higher or lower than whats currently on offer locally.
  13. new apple makes use the intel i7, i5 and i3 processors.
  14. i have my xbox for games, but when it comes to processing power i need more than a web browsing word processing computer. i Run photoshop, illustrator, 2d design, cam software, adobe premiere. as well as a music and videos etc. basically image editing and some light video editing, as well as music and video storage. i find my windows based pc's have started off feeling quick but start to bog down after time and then i scrap them plus my widows based pcs' always seem to have glitches etc.
  15. i listened to the bloke and must admit there was no real sales pitch; am waiting to get the pack to see if i can work out some solid figures. they given me an average financial turnover but that is gross and not profit. i want to find out from them how much materials are etc, so basically from the job how much of the profit is for the user and how much has to go back into resources. got to find out what loan repayments would be like, what the setup speed has been like for other franchise owners. etc. i know that the original company take Management fees are of 10% and advertising levies 1% of the turnover. just want to know that if i do make the big turnovers how much of that is my end of year profit after all other payments have been made, and then that will tell me if stepping out of teaching is a wise idea or not. the one benefit i have is that i can swap to supply work and ease from one to the other as business picks up so its not quiet a case of going out on an all or nothing limb. i am by no means rushing into anything.
  16. i've been looking at laptops and chatting with husky about things and i'm interested to see where the forum falls when it comes to computing platforms. i added other in there for those linux people or those others who use something special. my biggest grip is that we don't really have any choice. microsoft own the monopoly on PC's and if you go for an apple some people think your a sheep. its a no win situation.
  17. just wondered if anyone had any experience on setting up a franchise; does anyone own one; i'm looking at purchasing a franchise to give me a change in career. had a phone call tonight from the director and they are sending me an info pack. i've started doing some research and only 3 other companies do the same thing in this area. am going to email/contact local businesses who would use this service to see if they are already catered for and how much demand there might be. i think for me the scary prospect is leaving a secure job to step into the unknown and take on a big business loan. i just want to make sure i can provide for my family and keep a roof over my head. earning potential seems good; going on what the business is proposing; and i have ideas to further market the business beyond what comes with the franchise. i suppose i just need some reassurance, as its a lot to risk.
  18. to break it needs a large sharp impact with a heavy object or a large amount of pressure applied. remember these bumpers get reversed into walls and bollards and generally just suffer paint scraps. if you do it in most cars thats an average of 1 tonne of pressure. i don't think your mate pushes that hard. they will break but it depends on what you do. if you reverse it onto a corner brick or a metal pole then it will puncture or crack
  19. I bought a hamper for my grandparents as my wife and I were unable to see them at christmas, we ordered from bradfords bakers as they looked very good and had the items we wanted to send. http://www.bradfordsbakers.com/ its now the end of feb; no hamper has been delivered, i have emailed 3 times, and had not 1 single reply, i have now rung their phone line 15 times, out of those 15 times the phone has been picked up exactly 0 times. i stupidly didn't do my research until the problems started but here is a taste of the issues others have had http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews239287.html basically i've been robbed by them and they are getting away with it by just not answering any communications. i shall be checking to see if i paid with my credit card and then checking to see if i can claim it back through them. does anyone else have any suggestions; i also contacted watch dog; and might try rip off britian as well. should some kind of consumer watch dog be contacted as well?
