  1. at 5 k you could get a supra or if you fancy 4wd try a celica GT4 at that kind of budget, you have an endless selection of track toys. best to short list what you want FWD - RWD - 4WD Front engine - Mid Engine - Rear Engine 2 seat - 4 seat - family seater Cheap - mid price - top of budget super light - light weight - normal answer those and we'd be in a better posistion to answer
  2. for the money paid they are alot of tyre for the price. i currently run them on my 20inch rims for the XKR and i ran them on the S2000 both of a 30 profile. the reason i mention this is that alot of people complain they don't like them, but i think the issue is they ran them on the higher profile (stock 350Z size) of 45. i think the extra heingt gave more tyre movement and there for not met the users need. but in order to run lower profile you'll need after market wheels. on the low profile on both the s2k and the XKR the falkens have been brilliant. really like them. on the zed on stock profile the sessantas are a top choice. i ran them on my zed and really liked them, very competant tyre. if you have more cash, look at things like mich PS2's etc.
  3. a stripped out cooper S would make a blinding little track toy being FWD downt make it a bad choice.
  4. I've owned a mk3 MR2 and an S2000 the S2000 was a joy to drive on the road better car than the 350Z and an extremely capable track weapon. if you are serious on 1 then the 2002 model was possibly the best. if you want more in fo drop me a line. my money would actually be on the Mk3 MR2 built to toyotas F1 framework, brilliant balance, cheaper to buy than the s2000 and you could turbo it and still spend less than you would on an S2000. handling is like a go kart brilliant feedback mid engine layout. cheap parts easy to work on. ( i could change the exhaust manifold on it in 20 min) cheap wheels cheap tyres and given the right setup could challenge and unsteady alot of more expensive cars. if you want more info speak to me or ekona or stanski, we all had one. or possibly look at a vx220 some of those were going for alot less. won't be able to afford the turbos as they are rare. but might find a standard for 5k as for them both going backwards it just comes down to the driver; and knowing how to drive a rwd car properly.
  5. speak to ekona about how much his porsche is dropping each month
  6. my god, i *really* hope i dont loose that sort of loot on my zed. i lost 2k in 18 months on mine when i sold it. and that was just on the cars value, not including any mods that had to be left on the car. although that was when the car was worth more. the depreciation will slow down, as the cars get older. have to say the s2000 depreciated at about the same rate. its a performance car; they depeciate, its a fact of life.
  7. ok having a browse around the club area, it seems to be a good place to comapre your progress and lap times agains others in the club. also your scores help to push the club up the rankings as a group agianst other clubs. i happen to be top of the top gear challenge times 7.50 on the nurbergring radical challenge
  8. just reassigned leadership to chris, i am now co leader; chris is the boss
  9. Can you reassign leadership of the group? Dont really want something with our name on that isnt under the control of the team tbh. It looks like theres certain stuff only the leader can do like remove cars and I'm sure theres more. Lets give it a go and see I worked out why it dissapeared the first time. Its because I left the group thinking that was the way back to the menu as it said something like "Quit Club". So if all else fails we can just quit it and recreate. not sure of all the controls yet as i'm the only person in it i haven't added anyone yet as it says the first person to be added will be the co leader or something of that ilk. hence why i waited for chris to add. if it looks like things can;t be transfered across. i'll close the group, get chris to re start it and then invite all those who have put their gamertag up on the list.
  10. have sent chrisI an invite as soon as he accepts it will make him the co host of it. and then i can accept the other invites and send out invites to those that have put their details on here.
  11. Sorry Chris the setup you had didn't exsist because when i set a new club up with the exact same details it let me; which must mean for some reason yours didin't go through. club name: 350Z UK gamer Tag: Z UK same as above works. i'll look at getting it shifted over to one of the admins for control
  12. DON'T JOIN 350Z gamer tag its a club called total kaos, and not the 350z uk club.
  13. when i entered club tag it couldnt find z uk, but i put 350z in and it did. chris let me know if you get my request
  14. no one set up a 350z club car club on forza yet then?
  15. just out of interest are you able to get any of these in winter tyres? 285 x 30 x 20 255 x 35 x 20
  16. if yuo think the merc has done its depection and you won't loose much i'd bet against you. my Jag was an £80K car new back in 2000 and its worth less than £10k now, it has the same torque figues as the merc, but its a supercharged V8 not an NA V8. if i was to go to jag for parts some small things aren't bad but any kind of work from them is hugely expensive. but because of the cars age and popularity back in the day, there is an abundance of 2nd hand parts, and suppliers who do new parts alot less than jag do them. i'm also pretty hand with the spanners so i do my own servicing and repairs. so far i've done: Oil - £50 (jag price £80) spark plugs - £60 (jag price £120) coolant - £40 (jag price £40) air filter (performance) - £45 (jag price £15) coil pack - 2nd hand £40 (jag price £180) 1 wheel speed sensor - 2nd hand £40 (Jag price£86) 4 wheel alignment - £75 (jag price £120) 4 new tyres - £700 (jag price £1200) total spent since june = £1005 (jag cost without fitting costs £1800) (with fitting costs £2450) things still to do: another wheel speed sensor - 2nd hand £40 (Jag price£86) 4 wheel speed cogs - £40 - (jag price £80) skim front discs - £80 (new discs form jag £1000) rocker cover gaskets - £30 (jag cost £70) Total to spend as and when = £190 (if i went to jag £1300) with fitting costs £1700 just trying to show that big cars can be cheap to maintain if you know what you're doing and you shop around. or how expensive they can be if you don't and just get the main dealer to do it. if you got an independent to do it you could possibly half the fitting costs. i've got other jobs to do but they're optional and not to worried at the moment about doing them or in a rush. and i'm enjoying getting my hands dirty and doing the fixing. to be honest i'm finding the jag about the same to run as the Zed if not cheaper on parts.
  17. easy to remove especially with a bit of heat.
  18. Ok so my opinion here is possibly not going to go down well but i'm going to give it anyway Having had a zed i spent a fair bit trying to get more out of it; i used to be an NA purist and never wanted to go down the FI route. what i learnt: 1. even with filter, exhaust, hi flows and from hearing alot of other 350z exhaust mods the 350z engine never sound (to me like i would have hoped it would) yes you can get it louder, and deeper etc but it was never what i expected from a big engine. I got a better noise out of 4 pot engines with a good exhaust etc for a lot less cash than i ever did on the Zed. My old mr2 was the bench mark for me and the S2000 after that was pretty damn close. and both sounded a hell of a lot better than the zed for less money. 2. the performance gained from alot of money spent was minimal especially when you look at it in BHP per £ spent plus the mods i would have done like manifolds just weren't an option on the zed as the money needed to spend on doing it far out weighed the actual gain. 3. If i was to do the Zed thing again i'd go straight down the FI route. 4. for the money it costs to go FI on the zed you're better off taking that and using it towards buying a car that has it as standard. from reading on this forum i've learnt you should only buy FI thats either already been fitted by someone else on a car. or buy a car thats come from the factory like that. let someone else take the financial hit. epecially with how quickly big engine cars are dropping in price. 5. having now bought a supercharged V8 i can now see the appeal of FI and the fact that to get extra power costs alot less and the gains are so much more. i'm currently at about 370 bhp for about £130 i can get a new SC pulley that will push the car upto 400 bhp and another new lower pulley for about £150 and your looking at around 430 bhp. get it remapped for about £400 and your looking at 450bhp. so for less than £1000 i'd have gained nearly 100 bph. if it had been the zed i'd have been lucky to see 10% of that gain. spend about 3k more and it would see 550 bhp. my point is you buy the zed for what it is and you should enjoy it for exactly that. chasing BHP gains on the zed can lead to disappointment and can taint the ownership of a really good car.
  19. pioneer Avic F500BT awesome satnav and fits the cubby. and works through the car audio and can quickly be removed. i had one it was great.
