  1. i haven't filled up since end of feb, so don't have an idea, although i'm due to fill up friday for my drive to wales and back.
  2. thats what the inside lane is for, its when they sit in the middle or outside lane that annoys me. remember the speed limit is by definition a limit not a target
  3. 55mph is the optimal speed for most cars regardless of size of engine. once you start to push past that speed the power required to make head way is exponential 55 mph is the optimal speed
  4. love the big AMG's the M5 is on my list of possible replacements for the jag, when i need bigger back seats.
  5. i'm suprised the engine wasn;t rattling like a basterd
  6. if you visit someone like powerflow they have one of the largest selections of tips, you can choose what you like from there to match in with the stock look. wheck out their website as they have their full selection on there, and then you can find a local supplier/fitter etc
  7. interesting first vid, although he can;t pronounce centrefugal and technically its centripetal as centrefugal is a made up word derived from the good old NASA days of the spinning machine they named a centrefuge. (i learnt that in A level and degree level physics ) i currently run an old school roots supercharger with a charge cooler. if you can run a charge cooler instead of an intercooler you should be able to get the temperature down better and should also allow more boost. i would love to upgrade to a twin screw setup as the power gains over a roots setup is mighty fine. but the cost is huge.
  8. good looking track toy, i'd also run a can of BG44k through the next fuel tank, as that will help clean the injectors and fuel system etc. need any help with it drop me a line, always up for a car fiddle.
  9. i use purple haze pro and blue velvet pro, both good waxes
  10. only kidding, its a good car but at some point everyone will out grow what they have and want something different. nothing wrong with that. its not like its marriage where you have to be manogamous to one car.
  11. when i used to play pool i had to drive, so i used to have 2 pints of lager over 4 shandies (probably only had about a 1/3 of a pint of lager in each, and only something like fosters), over a 7 hour period. the human body takes about an hour to process 1 unit of alchol and i felt that this setup was well within my limits. i don't condone drink driving but i found this the best way of feeling like i was having a pint with the lads while still being well under the limit.
  12. could be an ABS fault, not sure how the zed is built in this respect but i'm currently going through this with my current car. my set up is a wheel speed cog, wheel speed sensor, ABS harness ABS control module. could try a battery unplug and see if that clears it. other thought is what tyres are on the car i.e. size i.e. 245 45 18 etc, put them up in here front and back, it could be the wrong tyres, setting off the TCS
  13. i saw an article or report on TV a while back that had said it had gone out of fashion, but that it was on the increase with younger people.
  14. with some generations it does have that level of a social faux pa, but i've heard the younger generation coming up behind me its on the increase. sort of between 18-25 i'm only 30 but most of the people my age up to say about 45 don't really see it as the done thing. i think upwards of that might be used to the older views where it was seen as more of the norm.
  15. Sorry i wasn't trying to be awkward, when i relate to the models of the 350z refer to PS - so i guess the models would be, 276, 297 then 308 bhp?? But I do think around a track the HR would do a lot better, revised suspension and engine goes a long way. obviously that gap would be closed with an uprev, ARBs, chassis stiffening, shocks etc And i completely agree, anything upwards of at least 30bhp is noticeable. And the early DE dispstick is the WORST in the world... well its not worse than having no dipstick *BMW ahem*! - STOOOOPID! agreed it all makes a difference but its also heavier, i think the documented 0-60 times are only about 0.2-0.4 different i think the 309 would cross the line first, half a car behind it would be the 298, and half a car behind that the 276. i don't think that we're looking at 100-200 yards difference. 309 is it a better car... does it have better interior...yes is it worth the difference in price.... yes would it give the 276 an arse wooping... no
  16. i think thats bang out of order the way they can do that. Agree! There are stated cases where being asleep in a car, in the drivers seat with the engine running to stay warm = no conviction. I'd argue that, whilst asleep, he could hardly be in charge of propulsion and steering. Must have had a crap lawyer. my old pub land lord used to let people sleep in their cars in the car park, but the condition was that the keys were left behind the bar. Landlord told us we could still be prosecuted for drink driving, even if in the passenger seat. but if the keys weren't in the car we were fine. did it a couple of times, but i drank there so much i ended up with my own room
  17. ah you work in PS, it gets confusing on here sometimes, many quote PS as the BHP on here. i've always worked in BHP, throwing in PS just gets confusing as for the car it did have alot of improvements, engine suspension etc, it is the better car, but it isn't miles faster. you need alot bigger BHP difference to see a wooping.
