Unfortunately this happens a lot, we get them more often these days, things that should have been picked up but weren’t, there are dodgy test centres everywhere and what it almost always comes down to is “can I really be bothered to start this” I think in my entire time being a mechanic I’ve only seen 2 disputes retested by vosa and 1 mot license revoked. Plenty of cars that are ****ed just strangely flew through an mot though! With regards to the underneath get under it and find out how bad the Crustyness is and see if the arches are bad before you venture too much further

Yeah no harm checking for something that won’t cost much, have you had anybody actually code read it yet?

Might sound stupid but have you tried replacing the battery in your key fob? we get this at work a lot eg car can’t read key code signal because it’s too weak etc... I’d advise making sure you have a back up key to try it on first before you try the “primary key”

Hmm could be down to the pump when it gets cold then, however could be crank or cam sensor aswell

It’s not water getting somewhere it shouldn’t is it? Down in my engine bay fuse box I had to strip out because it was getting corroded and causing issues, it’s right next to the battery
