  4. The conversation starts... "What?!!.....Sorry - I cant hear you over this loud exhaust i'm selling..." That's right folks, i'm selling this marvellous, prime piece of art equipment - which goes by the name "Japspeed K1". We all know what this one by now right? Its loud when you are stationary, its really loud as you pull away, its still really loud as you motor along at pretty much any speed that isn't 37.5 mph in a particular gear (and that's with the mufflers in). It came on my car when i bought it - I removed it after about 3 months because the Y-Pipe Started to blow and i'm also not the loud exhaust sort of guy. I accosted some guy i saw down the road with a Tig and we welded up the crack on the original weld, but as you can see from one of the close up photos we missed a hair line crack starting in the bend and for that reason I am chucking it in with the exhaust; someone could fix it up, or it might be ok for a day/week/month/year. The Mid and Rear sections are in pretty good shape, but there is a weld from its previous life on the mid section, on the 1st "silencer" (if that is what it is supposed to be)ts not pretty but I don't see it going anywhere. Fitment has reportedly been hit and miss with these, this one fit mine fine so probably got on the lucky with that, I think the quality of the Exhaust itself is pretty good - the Y-Pipe however i'm not so sure so maybe that's where the luck ran out, if you had a Tig to sort the hairline crack and maybe weld in a cross bar like the Stillen has it probably would hold out. I've seen these around for the £175 mark so asking for £150 (collected) considering the weld, and as i'm throwing in the y-pipe for free so think that's reasonable. I have purposefully not split the rear in effort to save the buyer having to get new gaskets, but a 3" once will be needed for the front and there are no bungs, so for those further away i am willing to post but at their cost and they will need to find a courier (I can give measurements/weights etc), as a single item Paisley said it was too long. If the buyer doesn't want the Y-pipe i'll keep it and maybe try and get it sorted myself. (my old house mates crappy duvet cover is not included - but can be yours for £150, and for that price I will throw in a Japspeed K1 and Y-pipe)
  5. I had a similar issue... One day all Was fine, I popped down and got some fuel, I was also was quite low, about the same as yours. I went to leave and only had 5 out of 6 cylinders running, but about 10 sec into pulling away and idling it kicked back in. Over the next two weeks it would randomly drop a cylinder. When the problem was present I chased the problem around multiple cylinders pulling the packs out.. Finally but the bullet and bought 6 new coil packs and Hey Presto - sorted. I guess also check for the usual leaky oil rocker cover gasket in Cyl. 6. I Had P0300 random misfire code and sometimes also a flashing EML which I think meant that the issue was potentially causing damage to the cats as I assume the fuel from the dropped cylinder poured into the cats. It can be caused by a vacuum failure or a sticky PCV though so you might be fine.. I Guess see what happens mate.
  6. Now I don't know much about the JDM but assuming that it's similar to the UK. Get the wheels then modify the centre section, and take out the silencer, that gives 20-30% increase on stock. It sounds stock on idle but has nice sound when you pull away or sit at 3k. I did this and I'm happy with it as I'm not into anything too loud - I'd probably only consider the milltek over it. Someone with more JDM Experience might be able to pipe up if this isn't possible though.
  7. Going back a couple of years now.. My missus had a very similar problem with an AM company (referred on by Hastings) they were appalling. They delivered a replacement car the same day everything seemed to be okay, but we noticed the hire car was horrendously over priced and over inflated, like £55 a day plus vat or something for a fiesta, just something you might overlook in all the chaos following the a crash. When we asked them to collect it they didn't, they stopped returning calls etc.. They were rude and said that if they could not recover the full costs of the hire car from the insurers they will pass that cost on to us including the days they dwelled on. We fought it and they settled something with the insurance company. Plenty of information about this sort of 'scam' on Google.. Where these AM companies seem to be ripping off other insurers. I guess you don't know about these things until it hits you (no pun intended).
  8. I only have a stick welder so that's no good but I know someone with a Mig so will have a word, i might need to buy him some beers and maybe some supplies or hand him a score or something. I have a few things on at the moment but might get it sorted over the next fortnight or get Valy's - Ed.
  9. I have a K1 laying around which was going to sort out and sell when I got around to it.. There is a slight crack in weld on either the Y-or where the centre section splits - I can't remember.. It has the Y-Pipe too but I think the flexi's were a bit knaff if I remember right. Was going to be looking for £125 as is.. I can get the welding done but would look to recover the costs on top, so if you know someone or you can MIG it your sorted. Its was just too loud for me although the slight blow wasn't helping.
  10. I wouldn't say they were too expensive..? I guess people will pay what they're willing to pay though... I'm sure if someone was looking they would have made you an offer. I know I would have as a winter set but seriously need to look at the other stuff on my list first!
  11. Yeah a common problem... Amplified by the cold if I remember rightly (of that's just another issues with the Clarion...ahem, I mean Bose system) Whilst your there you might as well attached a 3.5mm Jack to the tape player to make it an Aux. There is a guide for that too somewhere.
  12. Welcome back, not that I was a member or a owner 5 years ago ☺ï¸
  13. Just gonna revive this thread as I popped by the Z Shed today to pick up a new back box to replace my one which has started blowing. Ended up walking away with a wheel arch too to help sort out one I have with a rust Bubble. Got myself a cool sticker too Cheers guys! Science_GT, the place is well worth a visit if your local.
  14. Not Looking for a standard rear back-box if someone has one lying around locally? Edit: No longer needed
  15. Likewise with the lack of driveway issue and have been looking for options to assist with this.. And this looks like just the ticket, something to help either side of a good mitt wash. I also like your "redneck" approach to showering. I had to rebuild my bathroom once and had to put the bath in the garden for a week, was kinda nice looking at the stars. Edit: Sucks about the paintwork, probably a combination of the above but I wouldn't argue with Ricey on such a topic.
  16. Very generous of you, got to be someone in need of a bonnet around this place..
  17. Agreed from what I can tell here, sounds like my engine when one of my coil packs gave up - but you'd know a misfire from the loss of power. From what I read there this only happens under load? I did skim through the replies do far but have you tried doing all the usual re-sets - MAF/Throttle Body etc. sounds like it could be some sort of vaccum issue maybe?
  18. Same issue here, I have spent about half an hour trying to get one of mine off with no luck, i intend to strip mine back and paint.. I know they can be stubborn from time to time, but that's my Zed all over, she will give.. Someday.
