  1. trick is to drive a few examples, get to know the car as much as you can before parting with your cash. if i were you id spend 7k and get the best example you can, with the remainder set aside for tax, tyres, repairs, brakes, battery etc etc hopefully the car you choose will have had a clutch and exhaust replacement already. david
  2. If the vehicle warranty is through a 3rd party then it doesn't matter i guess as your dealing with the warranty company not j17 should any warrantable faults occur
  3. I had to look out the window then, no reg still says 05' What's the crack with this lot........
  4. What was your base run? And how come you have veyron levels of torque lol
  5. That plenum test was carried out on a 06 revup zed, ie different to a early DE. I already have E/I/P breather mods and wouldn't take anyone's money to prove or disprove information that already exist, but thank you. Its already been said that breather mods on a 350z can show lasting gains over stock prior to uprev. David
  6. That's all ive been trying to say........ How does the ecu know what power the engine is producing from one day to the next?.....
  7. ^ Ekona your either speaking from experiance or your not......... if theres a thread detailing what you are saying with a rolling road or engine dyno back up, pls kindly share the link. was this an import toyota or uk spec? an exhaust on a turbo car is again different to n/a tuning which is tough at the best of times.
  8. varing levels of power due to the gtr's engine being hand built is the only reason. pre remap showed 282bhp i think, which is more than a stock 10+ yr old motor would be expected to see is all im trying to say. i just dont get why the ecu would reduce gains over a period of a couple weeks? and how would someone know this? sorry if im asking the same questions again and again but ive seen nowt back up to confirm this to be true. i completely understand and know that to get the very best out of any engine upgrades requires a remap to do this, however to say these I/P/E mods do nothing without an uprev is bizarre. Or rather do show gains, then you wake up one morning and your back to what you had prior to fitting them. david
  9. sorry pal, its messing on my silly blackberry. if any breather modded 350z turns up for an uprev with more than stock power, that kinda blows the above agrument to piece tbf. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/91628-gmballistics-zed-supercharged-2003-gun-metal-gt-coupe-vids-added/page__st__20
  10. i agree, stock ecu can only allow for a set amount. plenum, velocity stack and exhaust do allow the engine to breather better and in order to try and maintain the set afr the ecu will have to add fuel to the extra air - thus a little more power seems fair to me.
  11. Inwas only half joking matey. I'm saying engine mods do add power is all. Do all breather modded 350z that turn up for a remap initially make stock power or a touch more?......nMy findings are *speaking peak power only, a remap shows gains circa 10bhp and a healthy DE can make 300bhp+ so prior to the uprev the engine did show gains from mods alone........ If I'm missing something, please do explain. David
  12. Talk to a tuner about weather or not our ecu's remove gains from an engine with breather mods, thus promoting the need for a remap? Yeah ok...... Fair enough pal. I don't believe for a moment that a more free flowing exhaust system, air box mod with aftermarket panel filter and plenum spacer, 99 Ron fuel (possibly alot better than what was readily available back when the 350z first came out) won't provide lasting gains. David

  14. I understand the concept of wai compared to the OE air box, which tbf is about the same for most n/a cars. I was after back up that to the statement about the ecu removing any gains you initially had from breather mods. I'm asking as I've searched and only found hear says........
  15. Cheers for the proof then.....
  16. with rolling road back up? ie mods making little to no difference over stock................
  17. star pal reserved locally, thank you david
  18. is there a thread/link to back this statement up?
  19. Ello n welkom I'm new ish http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/103307-anything-goes-worcester-6th-dec-800-attending/
  20. Happy the new ctr didn't win, way too geeky. Love the winner, as from that group its the closest thing to our cars truth be told.
