A dual action polisher won't create heat as it's not in the same spot continuous. Wet & dry is the harshest form of correction for lacquered finish.

Just wrap it, from experience it's a great remedy. Just make sure the finish is exactly how you want it prior If you're desperate to use C4, coat the wrap if need be. I've done a few years back and it's looks day one fresh!

I personally wouldn't worry too much about a vehicle health check, arguably this should have been done prior to purchase IF it's a concern. The vehicles annual MOT is a vehicle health check in itself is, this was carried out mid Feb so fairly recently. A great list of additional common issue items have been flagged above and some are things that can be checked yourself, ie oil pressure, exhaust blow, brakes and tyre wear.
