+1. Like your knob clockwize. *gearknob that is*

The little square light that would flash at you ~ assuming you mean the "red" square light on the rev counter is actually a shift light. You can set it to whatever revs you like and ultimately it should be set higher up the rev range for when you're giving it the beans so you know exactly when to shift. Race driver style. Lol. Mines set at the factory setting of 6500rpm for my DE engine. Gear changes should be smooth but can be a bit notchy from 1st to 2nd more so when it's cold or the car has only just been turned on. Usually a gearbox oil change and the introduction of some Moly Slip into the gearbox can iron this out significantly.

It can and will. Just to give you an idea.... Not my Zed but loving the purple accents.

Hands up...Who cleaned their Zed this weekend..??
GMballistic replied to WhackyWill's topic in Car Detailing
^^ Nice and clean Will, ...and looking mean. -
^^ Looks great. You just need to continue the purple theme now on the rest of the Zed.

Great pictures ~ any video?

I'd say exhaust as this will give you more smiles per mile. Plus if your old stock exhaust is in good enough shape still then you may well be able to sell that on and recoup some of the spent cash.

What a difference a snow foam gun can make.
GMballistic replied to GMballistic's topic in Car Detailing
There's no wax or gloss additives in it, it just cleans better which rejuvenates your LSP's water behaviour. I've found that the three best cleaning foams (Char Chem, AF Avalanche and BH Auto Foam) are all more runny in consistency - you can make them thicker by playing with the settings on the lance though and I've found with using the Car Chem foam that using it neat in the bottle and just one turn away from full + gives about the right thickness (for me), but it's never shaving foam type of thick - I'll try to remember to get some pics for you next time I use it (it could be a while, though I've got a couple of others to try/use and no time to use them ). I didn't want to alter the guns settings as I wanted a direct comparison from the snow foam using the same settings but I imagine as you say I could have made the foam thicker with adjustments to the gun. Would be very interested to see any pics of your snow foam tests if you can. -
My mate has one on his Subaru and during oil changes you can quite often see a very small amount of metal shavings on his. Looks sort of like iron filings. Edit: Meant to say nothing to worry about though. His engine was rebuilt awhile ago and he's had it checked over a few times and it's just normal apparently to get a small amount like he does. That's why the magnetic sump plug is a good idea. Cool, probably invest in a Tarmac one if they're the best? No idea if they're the best ~ as I said whichever one you get it just needs to have a really powerful magnet to attract the particles. There are a few choices on Tarmac's website and personally I like the Blox one at £15 as it seems to have a longer magnetic stem; http://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/products.aspx?CategoryId=e4175d3d-2d36-4173-8444-07280e6b6c16 Still no idea on magnetic strength of it though. Maybe best to ask Chris to see what he says.

Good luck and you could always PM Greg from Tradelink on here to see if he's willing to hold onto the Zed you want if you're really interested. Might need a small deposit but it can't hurt to ask.

I agree but looking on eBay for the individual parts would be a friggin' nightmare. Between "car parts" and "tuning parts" there is probably going to be at least 10-15,000 sales to look through I'd wager. Plus the parts would have to be pretty unique looking for him to spot them.

You should do a build thread HollowPoint for the 280. Now that would be something different.

Good to see a fellow member giving the Zed some love it deserves. Will be so much better after that little lot.

I've got one in my Zeds sump. I think it's a no brainer tbh for what they cost. Whichever one you go for Flex it has to have a powerful magnet otherwise it's pretty pointless. Idea is to attract microscopic metal fragments to stop them going round your oil system and causing unnecessary wear to the engine just in case you didn't know.

Definitely worth the £27 mine was from eBay (link on first page) imo. Works so much better than any of the snow foam guns I've ever gotten free with my pressure jet washers. -
My old mans had a few TVR's and for me if I could I'd get one it would have to be the Cerbera 4.5 V8. But then I know it would never be as good as the one my old man had back in the day without a lot of resto type work or a big outlay of cash on a mint example in the first place.

Thanks and it was definitely thinner for sure. Didn't want to adjust the snow guns setting as I was using the same amount of snow foam and really wanted to see how it compared. I'm pretty much thinking that for what I use the snow foam for, basically a pre-wash to remove light road deposits, the Demon snow foam is more than good enough. It's cheap too. -
^^ Basically that sums up my views on this.

Kudos for doing something good.

Bit of an update sort of. Today after my Zed passed it's MOT with flying colours I decided to give it a good wash. Ilogikal1 (Matt) had very kindly sent me a sample of Car Chem snow foam so as a treat for the Zed I decided to give it a try. The results where good but quite different to the Demon snow foam I'm used to. The Car Chem snow foam was not as foamy when used on the same set up on my snow foam gun as the Demon snow foam and it actually dripped off the cars surface a lot faster. It did however seem to have more of a waxing effect on the paint work though than the Demon snow foam. It was more evident when I washed the foam off as I seemed to be getting more beading than normal. Whether this was just in my head or whether the Car Chem does have some sort of wax additive I don't know but still I'm pleased with the results. After finishing the snow foaming and rinse I gave it a TBW, dry off & then put the Zed to bed for the night. -
Update in case anyone's interested or the OP is. Passed the MOT today with no problems whatsoever. Berks HFC's and Invidia Gemini exhaust system ~ was warmed up a little but not excessively and it had probably cooled down a fair bit by the time they got round to the emissions test so very happy with that result.

Fitted a Scorpion Stainless Steel exhaust to my 350!

Not bad. -
Welcome aboard.

Is that the one from eBay 3sjr? I was watching that you sob. Only joking wasn't going to bid but was interested to see how much it would go for. Good luck fitting it all.
