  1. Yep take the car to H-Dev/RS for a remap Pretty sure Bobby is based in Germany currently (from reading another thread of his) so it may be a bit of a trip to H.Dev or similar. UpRev/Remap is definitely the way forward though.
  2. Welcome aboard. The engine idle is probably fine, ...it does sort of feel like it's going to stall on most 350 Zeds. Put the A/c on and it will smooth that out if it bothers you. Hard to comment on some of the other issues raised without seeing/feeling them. For the leather problem 4RE Leather is the man to ask. Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/171-4re-leather/
  3. +1. I've also experienced disgusting service from these idi*ts.
  4. I only have to drive approximately 4-5 miles home from work but saw three people on their bl**dy mobile phones whilst driving. By the time I witnessed the third I decided to give her a beep on the horn to show my disgust. She was oblivious.
  5. Gutting, ..lovely looking Zed. Hopefully no real harm done.
  6. Honestly Craig, ...easiest thing to do now you've got coolant in it again is to check whether the fans work as they should. If not then it's them. I've only been on here about a year but have seen this so many times now, ...Jumping350, AttakZ, Ricky, Will etc have all been on here for like 4-5+ years so I'd listen to what they're saying. It could be the thermostat but it's much easier to check the fans first, fix if needed, then work from there.
  7. As others have said the likely cause is the fans not working. When the car is running and comes up to working temperature you should see one of the fans start to work, if not then it's probably had it. The other fan works when the A/c is turned on so you can check that by turning that on when the cars running. Some members have taken their fan motors apart and cleaned them/replaced parts but usually this is just a temporary fix. Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/69810-how-to-repairfix-your-cooling-fan-motors-youtube-vid/ Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/88321-carried-out-a-rad-fan-motor-fix-today-small-how-too/ Alternatively you could get a good used set of OEM fans from zmanalex on here or from one of the other members/traders that are currently breaking 350Z's. Another alternative is to take the opportunity to upgrade at a cost more reasonable than the OEM parts from Nissan. As Jumping350 mentioned you can get the Mishimoto fan shroud which Clark Motorsport, Tarmac Sportz and others sell on here. Link to Tarmacs fans although PM him for best delivered price; http://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/GB/350z_Mishimoto_350Z_Fan_Shroud/350z-MMFS-350Z-03_.aspx Good luck.
  8. I think you'll get in the top three easy, ...what's to worry about? just a bunch of kit cars, hatchbacks, VW Beetles and some old classics. Good luck.
  9. ^^ Oh well. Maybe you'll capture something more exciting next time.
  10. ^^ God that's frustrating Will. Where are the Police when these idiots are on the roads...
  11. Sounds like a sensible idea ~ more money for you to spend on the car & the hubby on his bike.
  12. Onwards & upwards I hope Lyndzzz, ...and make sure you get a home with a big garage to keep the Zed safe.
  13. That was just getting interesting too...
  14. Think I just found your holiday snaps..
  15. No problem Matt and hope all goes well. Let us know.
  16. Japanese domestic market cars are limited to 120mph I believe so this will be why the speedo is as it is.
  17. For touching up the paint I'd get a genuine Nissan touch up kit from the dealers which includes paint & lacquer in two separate bottles ~ it's not expensive, £4.99 last time I bought one from the dealership and they will take your VIN number to match it correctly with the paint code. I find it best to mix an equal amount of the paint & lacquer together and apply both at the same time. If the chip is really small then use a sharpened match stick to slowly fill the chip with paint/lacquer. But before you touch up the chips you need to deal with the rust & any paint flake. For the rust I'd use "Krust" first which is designed to stop rust from spreading. Link: http://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repairs/car-rust-removal-treatment/hammerite-kurust-12-5ml-pencil I won't write any more as I'll be all evening, ....I'll just say watch this video; It will tell you everything you need to know about how to apply the touch up & deal with the edges of the damaged paint. Hope that helps.
  18. Got ya ~ Sounds like a good plan.
  19. no it was a struggle getting the 2 1/2" Intercooler pipework through not sure what size pipe sts usedthough i suppose i could wrap the exhaust which may improve spoolup time maybe something to look into once it's up and running That's what I was thinking some sort of heat wrap on the exhaust and intercooler piping. Easier to do when off the car but still doable in situ.
  20. Fantastic progress. Are you going to use anything as some heat protection for the intercooler piping that runs alongside the prop/exhaust pipe? Just wondered.
  21. Welcome aboard Colin. I'll be exactly half your age next month so we can celebrate our birthdays together. Good to hear you're enjoying a Zed.
  22. Had a similar incident once at Tesco's whilst waiting for my Mrs to come out ~ I was sitting in my JDM Impreza, listening to music when the owners of a car that was parked next to me came back. They packed their car with shopping and then when getting in the passenger side, a woman just bangs her door straight into mine. I just looked at her in disbelief. No apology nothing. I got out checked my car & luckily I couldn't see any damage. If stares could kill they would both have been dead that day.
